Empire
This land of dust, these feilds of filth were once a grand place. An empire of unimaginable wealth. But now my eyes can see. Love's blindfold has been lifted. My heart has been shattered. What have I become? The sands of time slip in the cracks of my fist. Everyone I know goes away in the end. Put not your faith in me, I will only let you down. My mind is full with fractured thoughts. Lies of the mother, and sins of the father plague my soul. In the darkness the faces laugh. Toothed grins, faded faces. The abyss calls my name. I fall into the darkness, my crown is shattered and my thrown desecrated. My empire it has fallen. I have fallen. The ashes that remain are nothing to me now. I weep for my people, my tears spill into the stream. Destruction Desolation Desire Death These drive our world. Fear in the eyes of children. Walls of our great cities crumpled like sheets of paper. Our whole world is fragile like glass. Why must we kill all of our own kind? Fire burns the witless child. White hot shards peirce the womb. Toppled, defeated, You can have my empire of ash... reign over the land of the dead. Death has no more business here... no life remains. My meager existance stands not among the living. I am a walking corpse... a mistake. My tongue is as ash, the food of my lands tastes of dust. The waters are rust. Living things burned alive, for pleasure, their pain. Agony is mine. I am the ruler of this desolate land.

I have to say this is my favorite bit... Quote: Fear in the eyes of children. Walls of our great cities crumpled like sheets of paper. Our whole world is fragile like glass. tis dark, depressing, and with your trademark theme of war....tis so you...but it's a little different I think...not sure why

The Feast
This is the feast of the Dark Ones. The children of the night, they call to you. Your blood boils at their beckoning. Dark embrace, take me away! From this land of flesh and bone! Take me to that place where men die no more. Beasts stalk in the night. This is man's world no longer. Shoved aside, all he can do is to cower in fear as he watches, eyes wide and white, like the moon in full disk, as his kind is taken. Food for the lords of the night. His blood screams from the earth, Spilled by man and beast alike. Man's end is here, in their eyes you can find the fear. Now is the time of the feast, the power of the beast.

Before the gods destroy us, before Ragnarok is thought of, before fire or water, before the four horsemen, it will be man that ends the world.

THAT THING THAT FOLLOWS YOU AND WHEN YOU TURN AROUND, NOTHING'S THERE... I AM THE MONSTER IN THE CLOSET, THE SHADOW IN THE NIGHT... I AM THE THING THAT DWELLS UNDER THE BED... I AM THE THING THAT LURKS IN THE NIGHT!

*is amused* if you were really the monster under the bed....let's just leave it at the fact that you'd be dead...anywho I love talking about the apocolypse and all but I'm already under enough depressing stress I don't need to think about it...

((I really want a title for this one guys... I need your help!!!))
White hot it rains drops of mercury. Everything dies in this fiery rain. Blood runs in the streets and our noble leaders grin in their bath of blood. The Lord of War has come! Behold Aeres, how he bows before him! Behold Mars! Behold Tyr! Behold Chi You! Behold Guandi! Behold Kuan-Ti! BEHOLD ALL OF YOU! The Master has come! On one knee they all fall. They dare not raise their heads against the beast before them! The beast has risen! The beast is man.

To just let you know, Tyr is the god of justice...not so much a god of war. Odin is a war god, not so much tyr though.
For some odd reason, Amadeus is telling me that "Mortal War Beast" sounds right, but I disagree.... my conscious mind is telling me "Human War God" is better. They like to argue over such matters.

Very interesting... I'll take those into consideration... and yes, I know about Tyr... I looked him up. Along with the rest of these names I've used... of course, I already knew Mars, Aeres, and Kuan-Ti.

I definitely like your poetry. From what I've read you are a true poet. Not one who just puts together words because they sound right, but a person who writes on emotion and embeds them within their work.

Well, one good name for that poem could be "The Ideal of War" or "War's Delusion". Either of those would fit well in my mind. I really like all of your poems, by the way, they are quite beautiful.
