Cedric opened a door, "the tunnel is in the basement, it is behind a steel door, the combination number is 15, 36, 47. I need to do something before I go though...." The zombies were bashing against the windows and doors and the armor plating did not look like it would hold much longer. Upstairs there could be heard wild screams and foot steps as zombies began exploring up there. Cedric went over to the closet again and began activating all of the explosives in the house and he set the timer to 5 minutes, that should be enough time for them to get far enough away.

Sage remembered the numbers and quickly put them in and opened the door once they got down there. "I will go first that way Kayla, your protected from front and back attacks." Sage disappeared in the dark. Being able to see just fine with her night vision on.

"Uhm, thanks..." Kayla liked the idea of being protected, but she really didn't feel like she needed all that defence. Kayla followed Sage quickly into the tunnel. She couldn't see as much as Sage, but the basic outlines were there. She didn't know how the others would do though. Turning her head, she called back over her shoulder, "Can you see anything?"

After the timer was set Cedric started to head for the basement when he heard a growl behind him and before he could react a zombie slammed into him. Cedric was able to orient himself quickly enough so that he was lying on his back and could defend himself. The zombie was biting and slashing at him but Cedric was able to kick it off. The zombie recovered quickly and rushed at Cedric. But this time he was ready and grabbed an electric prod out of his pack and jabbed it into the zombie's gut forcing it to it's knees. Then taking his rifle he hit the creature in the head with the stock and finished it off with a single shot to the head. Cedric knew he was wasting precious time so he quickly rushed downstairs to meet up with everyone else and he closed the steel door behind him so that no one could follow them. He turned on a flash light so that they could all see better and quickly caught up with them. "I do not know how strong this tunnel is but I think we should move as quickly as possible because there is going to be a large explosion in about 3 or 4 minutes."

Sage started to run faster. The backpacks didn't slow her down they just made her movement weird since holding them both gave her little mobility in the tunnel.

"Explosion?!" Kayla echoed as she began to run, making sure she had heard him right. Although, she guessed she had because of everybody else's reactions.

By now the house was swarming with zombies. They were turning over everything to try and look for the food that they knew had been there only a few minutes before. Some had made there way into the basement and were clawing at the steel door, trying to open it but they were unsuccessful. Another zombie smashed into the small closet under the stairs. He found a large metal table with lots of metal switches and glowing buttons. All of the button were flashing red together. In the top right corner of this pretty dazzling display of shiny and flashy stuff was another thing that had a bunch of segmented lines that changed every time the red lights flashed. The zombie tried understanding them but couldn't except in these terms: circle dot dot circle squiggle, circle dot dot circle corner line, circle dot dot circle line line line big line, circle dot dot circle squiggle, circle dot dot circle line, circle dot dot circle circ- OW

In the tunnel the survivors had made it about half way when the ground rumbled. Some dust fell from the tunnel's ceiling, but it seemed to be staying intact, at least in this area.

Sage paused for a moment at the shaking. She could tell the others were out of breath she would have mimicked them as well had they not all known about her, so what was the point?

"Alright," Cedric said. "I don't believe the tunnel will collapse now.. we can walk from here on. Once we get to the exit we should stay down here till dawn, there will still be zombies roaming about all night, but we will be safe down here."

Sage just gave a small nod not saying anything she kept a steady pace but not too fast for the others who tired easier then her. It seemed like she hid all her emotions now with just a blank feature on her face. As well she was walking as she checked her wound and started to put a new skin patch on. It took to the ends of the other skin and melded together like new. She closed her backpack then and just kept walking.

Kayla nodded in agreement with Cedric, and then a sudden thought struck her mind. Glancing over her shoulder, she raised a brow at Vagabond. "So, Mumbles, what's your name anyways?"

"Vagabond. " He replied. " As you may have guessed I'm not human ether. I don't know what I am so don't bother asking. But if it makes you feel better you can save the good foods for your selves. I can subsist off hunting once we are out of this tunnel; and If you saw me kill the leaper then you know what I plan on eating. "
Really noticing Kayla's smell for the first time he was compelled to ask a question of his own. " Kayla. Your odd like Sage and I too. right? I saw you react to the noises and such in the house.Do you have extra sharp hearing or something like that?"
( Sorry long weekend. And watchmen didn't help lol)

Kayla resisted a shudder as she was reminded of the lovely scene. She also got suddenly tense as he asked her about her mutantion. "I'm a mutant, I'm wasn't albino-looking before I got affected by the radiation. All my senses are sharp actually. I can see more colours, more clearly, and longer distances. I can smell fainter things. I can hear fainter noises. I taste more flavours. It has it's advantages, and disadvantages." She was about to mention how pain is more painful to her, but she stopped herself. She didn't completely trust everyone yet, and they could easily use that information against her.

"Those are useful talents," Cedric added in, hoping to try and redeem himself a little bit for earlier and also it was the truth. They were nearing the exit of the tunnel by now. Cedric had only been down here a couple times but he was relieved to see the exit door still looked intact.

Sage seeem to soak in the information but said nothing. She seemed to still be thinking things over. She couldn't really blame them if they ahted her. She couldn't be affected by the radiation around them she would never have to feel starving or lose loved ones... SHe didn't have any of the normal stuff others had.
