Sean gritted his teeth as she approached, and his entire body went rigid with anger.
The hand he had holding the door shook, and his arm twitched, as the impulse to slam the door shut roared through him.
The door swung forward, but he halted it halfway.
A thought suddenly occurred to him as he caught a strange glint in Julia's eyes, it was as if somebody else was staring at him from behind her gaze, and he recognized the feeling he got from it, it was the same as that woman in red.

He opened the door once more, stowed the pistol away in his back pocket, rubbed both wrists in turn, and began advancing down the yard walkway towards her.
"All right, dammit." he spat bitterly, flipping his eyepatch down and cracking his knuckles in a dramatic display of bravado. "Julia might be annoying, and clingy, and needlessly emotional, but..."
Without warning, he suddenly rushed forward, delivering an underhanded punch to Julia's stomach.
As she doubled over, gasping for air, he finished with, "...but at least she's not some creepy psycho b***h-troll."
Then, he cracked her across the cheek with his other fist, knocking her out cold.

He bent down, and lifted Julia's unconscious form into his arms, carried her up onto the porch, and sat her down under the window to the left of the front door.
As he stood there, pondering what to do, his eye caught the stone gargoyle resting in the corner, and he suddenly felt compelled to remove the half-melted purple candle from its holder.

He rummaged through his backpack, found some matches, lit the candle, then tilted her head back and dripped some of the wax onto her forehead.
As the violet material slid down her face, he lifted one of her eyelids, gazed deep into the orb, and said, "LEAVE." in a commanding tone.
He then proceeded to repeat the process, dripping wax on various body parts, her hands, feet, and commanding whatever was possessing her to vacate her body.
He had no idea if it was going to work, but it was all he could think of at the moment.

"Carrie, are you okay?" Gabriel asked, placing his hands on her shoulders, "What's the matter?"

He looked down the street and said, "Jesus, what is that? Sounds like a child being tortured..."

"I..." Gabriel paused, then looked back at Carrie, "I think we should check it out..."

Although something told him that he wouldn't like what he'd see in that church.

Sean had been sitting on the edge of the porch, legs dangling lazily, for what seemed like an eternity.
Julia coughed, and he suddenly lurched forward onto the dead grass, spun on his heels, and stared her down for a good minute.
Then, he blinked, and finally relaxed his muscles.
She was squirming in pain, but seemed more or less to be herself, which satisfied him greatly.

"Hey... HEY!" he began in a loud voice, putting out his hand and walking in a halting, erratic pattern towards her position on the porch, as if he wasn't quite sure at first how to approach her. "Don't move, OK?"
He dashed inside the house momentarily, then returned with a handful of medical tissues, knelt beside her, and gently dabbed the blood at the corner of her mouth.
"You're injured..." he said matter-of-factly, then went quiet for a few moments.
He flicked the side of his nose, stared off somewhere in the distance, and finally finished with, "...and that's all I'm gonna say until you're better."
