Haloran enters the academy and peeks into the classroom. Vesta is out, but there is what Hal presumes is a new student sitting in the back row. Haloran slips in the room and leans on Vesta's desk, activating his Byakugan so he could keep an eye on the ninja in the back while watching the door.
