She smiles at him, blissfully exhausted, but grateful.
"I would relish a few raindrops...water can be cleansing to more than just flesh..."
She leans into him for a brief moment, before sliding to her knees and rolling into the makshift bed. She snuggles into the leaves, breathing in the sharp aroma of earth and wind. She peeks up from the pile gathered in front of her face, sapphire eyes peaceful. "Are you coming to bed wild boy?"

He steps into the softness of it, and stretches out. There is no shyness about him, no hesitation, and he looks up at the sky, catching a little moon in the dark gloss of his eyes. "Two is warmer than one," he says with just a ghost of a smile, and lets his eyes lazily drift open and closed.
He is looking up at the heavens, but she has a sense that he is studying her and their surroundings with his other senses; listening to her breath and voice, smelling the earth that cradles them, and memorizing the texture of leaves and fern fronds bent under his back. There's a celtic cross pendant around his neck and a pagan triple-moon ring on his finger. Both look hand-forged, like family heirlooms from years ago. They draw down the light in little flashes and glints.
"A night's sleep out here will be like medicine. The city can drain you. So can some of the people that live there. But this is a place where healing comes natural. By morning we'll both feel better, different, charged."
He turns his head to the side, looks at her, and watches her a moment before he whispers good night.

((okay, where do you want to go from here?? How much time will pass?? I really want to head over to the perspectives thread, since I did sign up to wreck havoc over there...lol. I am going to go ahead and have it be morning....with River MIA. (she's sneaky) That way I can hop on over where you are right now on Perspectives, for some nifty awkward moments...love those by the way!) The morning sun was peeking through the dull gray clouds of the horizon, when River snapped her eyes open. The sapphire irises glittered, catching stray golden light from the lazy sunrise. She turned her head slowly to gaze at her companion, not sure if he was still present at her side. Surprisingly, he was.
Jourdaine was apparently sleeping soundly, though her senses could still be off slightly from the events of last evening. She watches him for a moment, more like a child with a confusing toy. His kindness was odd to her, and River was puzzled that he seemed to want nothing in return. So strange these Crosshaven folk--so conflicted, yet some could forget their woes long enough to help someone in need. Even someone whom they had never met before.
The more River watches him, the more agitated she grows. She suddenly rises, taking care not to disturb the grass around them, and retreats from his sleeping form silently. She gives one lingering glance back, before breaking into a gliding run. She flees deeper into the woods, taking solace in the shaded glades and inky shadows.
She needs time to think about everything, about the kindhearted Adrian, the enigmatic Jourdaine, and more importantly--on what to do about her "Brother Cameron" problem.

He shifts a little in his sleep, and wakes, the newfallen dew hanging on the leaves that are draped over him. He rubs his eyes and shifts in his sleep, standing and stretching his hands to the morning sky.
The woman of last night is gone with the moonlight. He searches for signs of her close by, but doesn't see her. He rests his hands on his hips and wonders where she went, hoping that she didn't go back to find the one who had left her so injured.
