You are in good company here! We are all learning and growing together, and as scripture says in Proverbs "As iron sharpens iron, So one person sharpens another." So please don't hesitate to jump in any existing topics or create ones of your own that you want to dig into deeper. 3nodding

Communing with the Holy Spirit though prayer journaling sounds wonderful! I saw a bit of poetry on your profile that was so lovely heart I hope you will share more of your writing with us in the Creative Corner. And maybe join the Art Show? （｡>‿‿<｡）
Scarlet_Teardrops and I are both writing novels right now and I just learned that Warrior Of El is also a writer! 4laugh

I've never attended a Wesleyan church personally, I would love to hear about your experience there. I was raised in a non-denom church but my husband and I are currently attending a reformed Baptist church in our area and they are really good about teaching rich theological topics and are huge on hospitality.

How wonderful you have so many kiddos! We have a lot of homeshooling mothers in our church family with large families haha! My husband and I have been hoping for a few years now but the Lord has not blessed us with children yet. Hoping that will change one day!

If you ever want to share lifestyle tips or recipes we have a Lifestyle subforum too! And if you ever have suggestions for the guild let us know. We want to make this space a home where everyone feels welcome and can enjoy each other's company. ^^

I don't really like talking about myself buuut here goes:

I think I'm one of those weird Christians~ bc I don't really fit in with local Christians I meet...

hm. I write quite a lot (mostly non-fiction, but lately some fiction, too). writing/prayer journaling is the primary way I speak to, and hear from, the Holy Spirit.

last year, I found a wesleyan church after briefly attending several other non-denoms—and that caused me to want to learn more about various doctrines and beliefs within Christianity...
it's kind of astounding how much they can vary, and it's encouraging to see a space like this that attempts to unite believers anyway,
because we all know there's enough division in the world — the body of Christ should at least step to the side of all that.

umm, what else. I'm a homeschooling mother of three, married, in my mid-3o's, living a grace-filled, unearned but sanctified and hope-filled life on the side of a hill in the pnw.

I don't really have any friends my age, or friends who live life similarly to me.
I'd love to meet another mama out there who enjoys serving her family and spending time with Jesus ~ heart
or not, I'm not picky lol

I don't fit well with a lot of local Christians, either. I've said elsewhere that I'm too liberal for conservative/evangelical Christians, and I'm too conservative for liberal/progressive Christians. Yay!

I think you'll fit in really well here. One of the reasons I teamed up with Elora Lore to make this space was to create a theologically open, safe Christian place. 3nodding

Yes, there's a lot of diversity in Christianity, and a study of church history should lead us to doctrinal humility, even if we hold to our beliefs with a strong degree of certainty.

The Nicene Creed basically distills the core of historic Christianity. It's a Creed all three branches of Christianity - Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Protestantism - agree to. That Creed and especially the teachings of Jesus are our shared center. heart

It's not always easy to make friends locally. Making friends online, I have found, can be just as good. ^_^
