The Story:
A demon who consumes the negative energy surrounding a mystery becomes dissatisfied when he has devoured all of the mysteries of the Daemon World. Tired of these bland and repetitive cases, he decides to ascend to the Human World in order to slake his hunger on the ultimate mystery. By fated coincidence a young high school girl named Yako Katsuragi has recently gone through a devastating ordeal in which her father was mysteriously murdered with only suicide as the answer. Sensing the negative energy that envelops her current situation, Neuro approached her with the proposition of helping her with her father’s so called “suicide” mystery. As by the demon code, he can not call attention to himself while on the surface, so he must find a proper façade to conceal his identity.
He decides that she would make a perfect disguise while searching for mysteries, and intends to make her a famous detective in order to coax the higher quality cases to come; perhaps even the ultimate one. And in return he would help her with her father’s case. From that point on the two work together in satiating his appetite for mysteries, while along the way building the reputation of the infamous “Demon Detective Agency”.
