Death. Many have answers for the uncomfortable reality of a true death, fictions that glaze over the unsettling truth and lead billions through a safe, unsuspecting life. The humans pray to their gods, safe-keep their souls and look forward to the journey towards heaven and the clouds and beyond; collections of condensed water and heat. In truth, souls don’t go to heaven.

There is a world adjacent to Earth; ghosting its orbit, endlessly circling the sun like a vulture. Thareon lingers in its shadow, constantly drawing the last embers of past lives to its claws, where they are reborn. But even the lifeless shadow of a planet has life; the Cor-Edirr are sentient predators that stalk the surface and feed on the unwary souls that enter their territory. Unknowing in the confusion of their first death, few souls realize that this new world is significantly more savage than their last.

Even the Aeons of the Cor-Edirr must prove themselves, feeding off the newest souls until they gain enough strength to face the Academy. The single area on Thareon without a clan to its name, the Academy is both ruthless and efficient. To survive its training is to survive the world, as the school not only teaches its students how to kill rogue souls, but other Cor-Edirr as well.

Are you up to the challenge?
