July 16 This isn't a post aimed at anyone in particular, it's just a general message for all who own fey.

I want to remind folks that thir stat card scores are not anything you can circumvent just because you don't like what you got. You can -work- at changing some things. This means you have to RP your child attempting to change this or that about them. Your child will -not- succeed with ease at these changes and you should not RP your child at being skilled at something with a low stat just to get it raised. If anything the childs attempts will be clumsy and more prone to failure then success at any given time.

Another thing I wish to point out, all stats are based off of a score between 1 and 100 for skills and 1 to 50 for abilities. As children your fey will not be amazing at anything, even the stats you requested for the child to have their bonus points put into. A Acting stat that is 20 out of 100 is meager at best, I don't want to see children on par with adults in any listing. They are still children and will not be capable of stunning or 'special' activities. Please keep this in mind when your RPing your fey.

To clarify to those about the choosen stats you get your bonus points in: Your fey does not automatically excell in your choices. When I roll the stats, what comes out comes out. So if you pick Agility and get a 1 in it. Your fey is not agile at all. You will gain bonus points to agility at each of your fey's stages. +5 from wand to child. making that 1 a 6 out of 50 points. Still not all that agile. From Child to Teen I may roll another 1 for agility. That makes your 6 a 7, and with yout bonus points of + 10 you now have a 17 out of 50. From teen to adult let's say I've rolled exceptionally horrible and you only get a 2 this time. Your 17 becomes a 19, but with the final 25 bonus points awarded your fey's agility jumps to 34 out of 50. Not all that great still but your doing a heck of a lot better then if you hadn't recieved any bonus points at all. Which would have been a wopping 4 Agility at Adult.

One last thing, No fey is capable of casting any spells other then the ones currently listed in the Fey grimorie! If you want your fey to cast a spell, or be capable of casting specific sorts of spells, that is not listed in the grimorie your going to have to 1) PM Lord Changeling about the spell in question and 2) at least reach certain magical and ability requirements that would be determined by said LC.

All I want to do is inform folks as they RP so that they don't go too far with their fey and have to be corrected. Those of you who are kinda treading the line I know it's due to the fact there have been no firm explanations on the limitations of your fey.

May 10
Rocky again, but getting paved. I've started a new job so I won't have to deal with the foolishness of my prior job. Longer hours, but with better pay (Like 2$ more) with raises and evaluactions even! And benefits, 401K, health coverage, yadda yadda yadda, Anyways, due to the longer hours I'll be spending at work, it means I finally have to fess up to the fact I'm over my head right now with all my Gaia stuff. Nope, I'm not quitting, I'm just asking for help. Check page 209 and you'll find a writing contest of sorts for Fey owners. There is no end to the contest, it runs until the grimorie has been completed. ^_^

May 2
Well boo. Just...boo. Life has gotten rocky again but I guess thats to be expected. We did get the winners to the contest and the auction though! Congradulations to Saint, who is now the proud owner of the first Human student at the Academy! And to Caitlyn who is the proud owner of the first Adult fey not owned by me in the shop. xd

On a additional note, DFamilars are going to be avalible to fey. Through a minor ritual a Pixy can be created to serve and delight it's magical master! ^_^ The ritual itself is pretty easy, it's just getting ahold of the special bulb for the ritual that's hard. xp

There have always been tales of mystic creatures that used to walk upon the lands of Gaia. There were creatures with wings and creatures with deadly magic, all so powerful that they were cast away to the heavens so the mortals would be safe. Each and every story would always finish with the mortals forgetting about these fey and casting the few memories as tall tales. However, in this story, there are two major differences that set this aside from the rest.

As the world was reborn for the endless time, there was no space that separated the heavens from the lands of Gaia. There was no wall between mortal and Immortal, so as fey and human alike were resurrected, a dark cloud of tension seemed to cover Gaia. An angry hum filled Celistai, and soon sentries were posted and mortals were banned from the holy grounds. The mortals were furious, their desire to control the golden lands causing a devastating uprising to take place. Along the border between Celistai and Gaia, human and fey alike lunged and battled for possession of the lands. This battle went on for generations, the path to Celistai becoming a war torn Hell until silence suddenly sunk across the battlegrounds.

As the Cold War between mortals and immortals took effect, many fey who wished for refuge fled to the hills of Gaia, creating barriers so humans could not discover them. It was at this point that the Academies were created, schools built so young fey could learn to defend themselves as well as their Celistai. There were a few large schools out there, hidden throughout the hills and deep in the forests, however there is one that was more important than the rest. Araceli Academy was quite new, with a modern sort of headmistress, however as fey near and far settled to register in the school, it proved that there would be far more powerful graduates coming out of the school as more came in. However, there is only one way to tell how these students will help in the war between the wars, and that is time.

I and any of my staff have the right to change the rules to fit for any cases that might come up that have a good enough reason to be banned from.

  1. Your Fey will not have a manditory RP scedual, though we ask that you show up in the thread or post in your journal at least once a month. We will give you a fare warning, but if you explain why you never RPed we will be open about everything. Each pet will be given a Journal in our guild, so we ask that you use it.

  2. There is to be no killing of any pets, yours or your friends, this is unacceptable and just ruins the whole RP. If you try to kill off your fey, you will be banned and they will be re-sold for an undefined price.

  3. Show everyone respect here, yes Staff get auto respect, but you need to respect other gaians, even if they are new. If you have been here for months and see someone who is new and confused, help them out, dont shun them.

  4. Do not Flame this shop, if you do, you will be asked to leave so you can cool off, but if you continue you will be banned...Also please do not bring fights into this thread, if you start a fight that was outside of my thread, you will be banned, no warnings. There are other places (*cough*PM*cough*) for you to sort things out.

  5. For RPing there is no god-moding, powerplaying, or any thing of that sort. We work hard to give you a solid foundation of what your character's powers are. So if you never heard us give you a power, do not use it.

  6. These were altered once again from Lord Changeling. Praise him, he is the god of this thread considering how much he did!

Stages

Wand: Though this item is simple in appearence, this wand is the key to finding out just how a fey will turn power-wise as well as personality-wise. This is like the baby stage of all creatures, and this stage is the weakest a fey can be in. There is no signs of life or magic within the woods of the wands, an there is no signs of when the wand will go to the next stage.

Glowing Wand: As you have discovered, the wand changes suddenly one day. The tip of it is glowing with raw power, and it seems as if any attatchments are being lifted by an unknown wind. This is a sign that the wand is about to create a fairy that is capable of weilding the powers hidden in the wand.

Young Trainee: At last your fey has manifested, and in its hand always is the wand you started with. This stage is when a fey starts to go to training school, and will begin to learn standard spells and powers that are custom to its wand. Though they do have a hard time of controling their powers and when casting middle class or high class spells they usually will backfire if they are not taught to them before hand.

Teenage Trainee: This upperclassman fey now has the capiablity of learning all of its powers, however it is up to them if they want to learn it or not. They can weild all magical spells, though they usually must be taught them first or else they will fail. They also now are capiable of going on small quests for the school to discover items that may help them as an adult.

Adult fey: The final form is the awakend form of the fey. They are the graduates, and though they still can live in the school, they now have the ability to travel the world on quests or to help out and teach others. At this level they are capiable of using their wands to create new materals for a new wand and a new generation of fey.

Selecting the right wand can be the most essential influence upon what type of fey if born from it. The type of wood plays a crucial role in determining the type of demeanor your fey has, as well as what type of magic they will be the most effective in.

First is the natrual element of the wand. These are the four we are all familar with. Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water. The type of element that the wand is most aligned with, will determine the basic nature of your fey.

Quote:
Fire: Your fey is very bold. When it comes down to doing something dangerouse and potentially exciting, or the same old boring thing, this fey most often will choose the former. This fey will determin for themselves who they are, and is more prone to try to be the leader in most situations.

Quote:
Earth: Your fey is steadfast. If something doesn't work the first time, obviously you need to try again. When it comes to being a leader or a follower, your fey usually chooses to be neither and act as the mediator. When all is said and done, your fey wants what is said to be well done.

Quote:
Water: Your fey is aloof. Your fey is less concerned with what other folks think of them, and believes that others should be more interested in what this fey have to say about the rest. Whether something is right or wrong doesn't concern your fey, what matters is how they canuse it.

Quote:
Air: Your fey is secretive. Getting all the facts about your fey is like pulling teeth from a vampire. They simply don't want to give it all away. They will let you know only what they have to let you know, unless of course they decide to tease you with a bit more.

Elements aside, there is a secondary attribute that all wands have, a focus of magic. In essence, certain types of wood are good for certain types of magic. Some woods are good at more then one kind of magic. When you select your wands wood you may pick (If there is more then one option) one of the focus's of magic, but you can have only one focus!

Quote:
Green Magic: Your fey's strength lies in healing magic and protection. Hex-Breakers and Healers are often what these fey are called. Counter Curses, Poison healing, wound healing, and wardings are only a few examples of the types of magic your fey will have a easier time grasping and casting.

Quote:
Fortune Magic: Spells that draw money and luck tend to be the sort this fey is more gifted at. Finders are what these fey are sometimes called, for their good fortune in finding lost items, whether or not it was theirs to begin with or not.

Quote:
Moon Magic: Divination and illusion magic are the strongest talents of your fey. Being able to read someones fortune is often times a very hard magic to control, but fey with a focus of moon magic have a bit of a easier time with it.

Quote:
Sun Magic: Pure Raw POWER! And Love....oddly these two magics appear to have a lot of connections. A fey with the focus of Sun magic finds casting love spells a snap, as well as helping to ease grieving hearts when they want to be charitable. Not to mention the fact that any spell that has the word 'boom' or 'devestation' in it tends to have a lot more oomph when cast by this fey!

Quote:
Star Magic: A uncertain magic at best, Star magic doesn't so much as use the fey, as the fey uses it. Star magic relies upon the emotions of the caster to power it, and give it shape. Wish granting is often the term given to Star Magic, though it is the magic that decides how a wish is answered, and not the fey itself. Ever hear the term 'Careful what you wish for'? Star magic is completly benign and some even think it may be sentient for there are times when it actually refuses to grant what is being asked for.

Quote:
Soul Magic: Creepy is a term usually used for those who are gifted with Soul Magic. This type of magic allows the fey to call up spirits of the departed for various reasons. Usually this is a magic shunned by most fey and looked down upon because the act of useing this magic rips the spirit from the plane where they belong and in essence enslaves them to the will of this fey.

Quote:
Elemental Magic: The name in essence says it all. This fey's powers tend to come easier when dealing with the raw elements or calling for elementals to do their bidding. With their power stretched out over all four elements they don't really seem to excell as much as other fey do in their foci, but due to the fact elemental magic is the hardest to master, they definatly have a easier time of it then the rest.

In this academy, you will be getting grade sheets for your fey that will help you try and figure out just how to rp them. This is more or less the challenge of the fey, and you will have a baseline grade for many personalities that will help you find out just what to do. We ask that you go by the guide given, because not everyone will be happy, and not everyone will be depressed, but everyone will have a guideline for the owner to use.

Stats
Strength: This is how well your fey excells in their strength. The lower the number, the frailer and weaker your fey is, and the higher the number, the stronger and builter your fey is. It is by this scale that helps you determin if your fey is strong enough for physical activites as well as if they are weak enough to try and use more magic instead.

Dexterity: This number shows just how skillful and quick your fey is. The higher it is, the better ability your fey has at using speed and casting many spells during a short period of time. The smaller this is, the slower your fey is at learning and using said spells.

Stamina: This number shows just how well your fey can survive strenous activites over long periods of time. The lower the number is, the lower amount of time your fey can survive through hard work, and the higher the number the longer amount of time a fey can work without fatigue.

Charisma: This number is the amount of charm your fey has on others around them. As the number gets higher, it shows that your fey has an easier way of meeting new people and making new friends. If this number is lower that is shows your fey is shy and has a difficulty getting out to meet others around them.

Manipulation: There is something you want, but a problem achieving it. With a high manipulation score you are adept at coax other fey into doing what you want of them. This is the stat of a plotter and a planner. A fey that can smoothly make another believe the idea was actually theirs, or perhaps just present a sound argument to convince others. Obviously the lower this stat is the less of a chance your fey has the articulate means or the keen enough of a mind to move the strong willed.

Loyality: A high loyalty speaks of your feys commitment to their friends and their ideals. While a high loyalty can be good, it can also be bad. Fey with high loyalties usually adhere to a strict moral code of their own, and can not be swayed easily from the rules they have accepted for themselves. On the other hand a fey with a high loyalty places friendship highly on their list and remain true to a fault to those that have earned their admiration, love, and trust. The lower this stat is, of course, the less your fey is restricted to morals and ties to friends. A low loyalty means the fey places themselves first in mind, and whatever is good for them outweighs all else.

Perception: This is the ability of your fey to reconize things based on the senses, and how in tune they are with the world around them. The higher this number is, the easier it is for them to be aware of things around them using mostly their sense of hearing or seeing. The lower this is, the harder it is for them to focus on their senses in time to catch the awareness needed.

Intelligence: This number basically means how well your fey can retain knowlage and use that knowlage to help them in any and all situations. If it is a low number, do not worry, this only means that your fey is better off just working towards getting out of school and doing tasks that dont need logic. However if this number is higher it means that your fey is capiable of using their knowlage to help them in many or all situations with success.

Virtue: This number basically shows how compassionate and generous your fey is. The lower the number is means that your fey has no cares for others and would rather work for themselves, and the higher it is shows that the fey would lend a hand to help others and even risk their lives for others around them.

Aggression: This number shows just how hostile your fey is. If this number is a lot higher, it means that your fey will more or less jump into situations and start fights without thinking them through. The lower this number is the more peaceful your fey is and the more likly they will look for other options instead of fighting.

Skills
Acting: Besides the obvious in talent for stage, this skill belays the ability to put on a front for others. If your seeking to hide something; be it feelings, a injury, or even illness; the higher this stat is, the better you are at fooling others. However, Perception counters this skill and aids in seeing through the veil.

Alertness: This skill works with the Perception skill. Alertness aids in the awareness of your surroundings, but it also includes Intuition. Sometimes your fey just gets a 'gut feeling' or a 'tingle down the spine' that lets them know something is up. It doesn't exactly tell you what it is however, to been keen enough of mind to discern that is where the Perception skill comes in.

Atheletics: How sporty is your fey? A high Athletics skill means your fey benefits from a very active life. Sports and exercising is a part of their life and their body reflects it. Athletics aids in stats such as Dexterity, Strength, and Stamina.

Brawl: Some folks are simply fighters at heart. While most fey rely on mystical means of protection, the fey with a high brawl stat see's no reason not to know how to defend themselves with their fists or bludgeoning type weapons. A high brawl combined with a high aggression stat means your fey is extremely volatile, while a high brawl combined with a high Loyalty means your fey will protect what they believe should be fought for

Dodge: This stat works hand in hand with Dexterity. A good dodge stat means your fey has learned how to use their flexibility to their advantage in cramped, violent, or dangerous situations.

Diplomacy: A fey with a good Diplomacy skill not only knows the proper procedures in most situations, they know how to put them to use. Diplomacy often aids in the use of the Manipulation stat, though it can be used all on it's own for a more honest and respectful approach.

Empathy: Empathy requires at least a good Perception and a good Alertness score in order to be effective. Sensitive to the feelings of other creatures, this skill is useless unless the fey has the Alertness to recognize the feeling for what it is, and the Perception to understand why the other feels the way they do. This skill is not limited to just fey, but also can be used when dealing with humans, animals; and with the extremely gifted; even plants and the earth about them

Etiquette: Can you balance a book on your head? Can your walk mimic the graceful sway of the swan? Do you know what fork to use with a three fork setting? If your etiquette is high then most likely you do. A good Charisma stat is required to put this knowledge into use, while the stat itself aids in use of the Diplomacy skill.

Finance: Math! Accounting! Business! How shrewd a business fey are you? Can you balance your books and even turn a profit in the market of buy'n'sell? The higher this stat is the more successful your fey is in it's business dealings. A high Intelligence stat is key in working with this skill.

Intimidation: Not so much a bully, but a motivator. A fey with a low Intimidation stat doesn't exactly cause sweat to bead on another's brow at their names mentioning. This does not mean your fey is meek or shy however, it simply means they lack the proper aura of 'business' that a fey with a higher Intimidation stat would have. The Intimidation stat can both aid the Manipulation skill and be countered by it.

Investigation: Sometimes there are small things that just seem a little out of place. A fey with a high investigation stat is adept at picking up these small clues and gathering them together. While requiring a high intelligence to put all the puzzle pieces together and make sense of them, this skill does not rely completely on Intelligence to be effective.

Leadership: A high leadership stat means your fey is capable of making the tough decisions when they need to be made. Other fey will often turn to this fey for answers and guidance in some situations. A low number in this skill does not mean your fey lacks the ability to be a leader, but rather the desire to be one.

Linguistics: There are many different languages in the world, and a fey with a high number in this skill is fluent in many of them. For every 5 points your fey has mastered a new language. (List of languages forthwith coming)

Melee: The counterpart to the Brawl skill, this skill works exactly the same as Brawl, save your fey is skilled with a particular non-bludgeoning weapon. For every 10 points your fey may choose a new weapon to have become familiar with.

Music: The mathematics of sound! Can you sing? Perhaps you can play an instrument? Maybe you simply know how to write lyrics and poetry? A high score in this skill means your fey has an exceptional gift in at least one of these manners. (Note: this skill is mildly restricted. You may only choose up to 2 things to be skilled in which will be listed under the Skills section of your card.)

Medicine: For most hurts and wounds folks lean on Green magic to make them better. But what if your Green Magic isn't up to par? A fey with this particular knowledge does not need to rely on magic to tend to wounds; though magic is defiantly faster. A high Medicine skill means your fey has become familiar with various first aid type procedures. The basic levels include things like CPR and basic First Aid. As this skill increases so does the feys knowledge.

Stealth: Shhhh! We're hunting...Trouble? Perhaps. A fey with a high Stealth stat is defiantly skilled at walking quietly about, vanishing into the background, and not drawing attention to themselves. Combined with a high Dexterity your fey can become quite the artist of slinking in and out of places no other fey may attempt. This skill, however, can be countered by a high Perception and Alertness skill.

Science:Yes, magic is what your supposed to be learning...but like the Medicine skill, not all fey are wonderfully gifted in magic. Science is another alternative to the normally used means. Basic science knowledge can be learned through a low STT score. How and why things happen in nature for instance. As your Science skill climbs, so too does your understanding of science and how it can be used. With the highest Science score possible, the fey that has mastered this skill can even manage to plan out and understand simple machines, though an extremely high intelligence score is required to actually create these things.

Quote:
Hobby: So your Fey has a hobby that you would like to make known, feel free to PM the account and show that you have a hobby that goes with your fey. This is for what they like to do in their spare time, and basically is up to the owner to decide though RP, so be creative!

Skills: Throughout RP and Classes, your fey will be able to learn skills that help them inprove in their focus as well as their elemental powers. When your Fey does learn a skill, it shall be placed here for all future references. Also you shall get a pm discription on just what the skill is so there is no confusion.

Favors: This is also something that builds off of RP as well as ownership. This is what your Fey loves about the world around them. It could be a sort of art, or maybe even an sport or food, it really all depends on the personality and how the owner RPs it.

Disfavors: Once again, this is also something that builds off of RP as well as ownership. This is what your Fey dislikes about the world around them. It could be a sort of art, or maybe even an sport or food, it really all depends on the personality and how the owner RPs it.

So you are looking to create a fey, are you not? Well here is the key to creating a custom fey just for you. During each flatsale there will be Kits that will be sold, and in each kit there will be items to choose from to peice your fey together. To help keep you all from guessing, we will show each item and what type of attributes it has. Be forwarned, not all of these items will be sold in a kit, so make sure you know which items to look out for, but dont expect to see some of the more powerful ones right away.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Here is a example of what a Magic Kit will look like. Inside each kit will be three different Wand Wood types and three different Heart Component types. Each type will be clearly lable via card.

When you choose your Wand Wood, there are sometimes multiple types of Foci that are attributed to that particular wand wood. In order to properly attune the wood to the desired alignment, a Heart Component is also selected and used in the creation of a wand. Be forwarned! Sometimes a Heart Component also has more then one attribute as well! If the wood and the component have more then one match, there is no garuntee which Focus your fey will be granted!

Example
Holly Wood is choosen as the Wand wood and Jade Dust is choosen for the Heart Component.

Holly Wood Foci are Green magic, Fortune Magic, Star magic, and Elemental Magic.

Jade attributes are Green Magic, and Fortune Magic.

Since Holly and Jade share two magic types; Green and Fortune Magic; there will be a 50/50 chance of the fey having it's Focus becoming one magic, or the other.

The guild is where owners will have journals to keep track of their fey. These journals will be like dorm rooms, and will have two different owners for each room, so that we can create a safety RP friend right from the start. Though there will soon be many journals in the guild, there are also other important spots for owners that they should know about.

Work Journals

Here are links to work journals as well as update threads so you can know just who is doing what. Also, they will show the colorist's decisions on when to hold flatsales as well as when they will open customs. Basically this is for you to be one step ahead of the crowd when the time comes for a flatsale.

Confused? Don't understand what is going on? Well you are at the right place.

What is this place?
First of all, Welcome to Araceli Academy. This is a breedable pet shop that contains creatures that we all know from the magical world. If you dont know what a breedable shop is, feel free to look at this link, it can explain a lot better than I could: Breedable How To/Info/FAQ

What is a Fey?
A fey is like a fairy godmother type creature. They come in both male and female forms, and have fairy wings as well as angel wings and demoic wings, though thoes are know to be a lot rarer.

Is this a RP based shop?
I am sorry to say but yes. It is not based on RP for them to grow, but if you wish to get any sort of spells and special items, as well as if you wish to strengthen their stats, you will need to RP. We provide journals as well as RP partners in 'dormrooms' so we are trying to make it a lot easier to RP.

Do you have Customs?
At the time, no, but I am sure when we get more colorist than I will open them up.

Can I be a colorist?
If there is an open slot for a colorist, you should go look at the announcements, and it should answer if I am looking for one or not.

Do you do pet trades?
Yes, I do, but like customs it is closed for now unless you get one of my favorite pets. Wanted pets are usually listed in the Pet Trade post.

Is Co-owning alowed?
I don't really want that, unless of course it is a very powerful one...but than again none have been released yet, so we shall deal with it when that time comes.

May I buy one for someone else?
Of course! The more people in this shop the merrier!

Can my pet be taken away?
Only if you break the rules...

I am so confused! What is going on, this FAQ doesn't help!!
Even though this isn't a question, I know you still have more, so feel free to PM the shop account.

How does my fae grow?
Unlike most shops, after your fae reachs it's child stage it does not automatically grow. You must fill out a Growth Application and PM it to the shop account. In order to find the Growth Application just click the following Link.
