The battles take turns just like in the games. The outcome of your move depends on what kind it is. If it's disgusting, it's poison. If it's cute, it puts you to sleep, etc.
It can be funny and out of the ordinary, just don't make it stupid. xD
You may use items, and your friends can assist you. They can't fight for you, but they can heal you. Example:
