ON TAF
Tadako's Armed Forces is an entity. It is not based on spam. It is not based on postwhoring. It is not (entirely) based on Tadako's narcissism. It is not based on the idea of friends. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean you do anything if you join; except sell your a** to Tadako until she hates you. Gaia already has an army, if I'm not mistaken - and it's not like we're just here to ******** things up. Enjoy your stay.
ON TADAKO
Tadako Isobe joined Gaia on August 25th, 2003. She's been messing around with it ever since. The first forum she ever posted in was the Chatterbox, and so there she loyally stays to this day - though she does take some excursions to Barton Town because she's a flaming creative-pants. This does not matter. She still owns your a**. She is not easily pissed off.
ON WHAT PISSES TADAKO OFF
Tadako was once a "flamer." She likes to think she never took it too far, but you never know. Over-the-top flaming now gets her very mad. Joke, go ahead. Just don't do silly things like encourage suicide/blahblahblah when there was only a little idiocy to light your fuse. None of you gaylords are superior to anyone else on Gaia, and so it shall be consistent here. Sure, all Tadako's doing with this thing is playing boss - but she's doing it in a positive way; enlightening people to her awesome.
Picking fights, even if you're the "underdog," is a good thing if you like seeing Tadako mad, then subsequently not seeing Tadako at all because you're gone. Nyuck nyuck nyuck.
ON WHAT MAKES TADAKO HAPPY
Being kind. Being fair. Being involved (however involved you can be in a situation like this). If Tadako is glad, we are all glad. You might be glad in particular if you make her particularily glad - she is very enthused about promotions and such novelties. Much more makes her happy, but it would be far too big a list to write.
ON WHAT YOU DO IN THE TAF
If you are Tadako Isobe you stand there and look busy. And look pretty. Look pretty, and busy. Look pretty busy.
If you are Taki Fae you are responsible for agreeing with every decision Tadako makes. Make her look good, damnit!
If you are Dexious you are responsible for agreeing with every decision Tadako makes. You're the backup dude, in case Tadako and Taki Fae are incapable of performing. Also, you're sort of a personal assistant to Taki. The same way she's second in command to Tadako. C:
If you are Special Forces you have specific jobs assigned to you. HOORAY.
If you are an officer you stand there and look busy. "There" being right... there.
If you are a soldier you stand there and look ownage. You are one of Tadako's choice picks; you're awesome. So make with the awesome and STAND.
If you are a recruit you try your damndest to impress Tadako. Then keep up whatever you did to make her happy; because first impressions won't keep you in.
ON THE RANKS
Tadako Isobe is absolutely at the top of the pyramid. Her rank is General of Ultimate Awesome. You can call her Boss. Heh. Or Captain.
Taki Fae is lucky (and spectacular) enough to be Tadako's highest ranking officer; her Second In Command. Tadako can call her Number One. You can call her Commander.
Special Forces are the freaks of nature that have a specific purpose other than to serve. Really, Tadako is just taking advantage of them in order to be lazy / get things. Ahahahaha. Their ranks are Specialists of Awesome. You may call them Queenie. Alternatively, you may call them by their specific titles' acronyms.
Officers are beneath Tadako and Taki Fae. Authoritatively they have greater power than the Special Forces - those civilian-like personalities are only titled because they're amusing. Dance, my children! Officers are awesome. Their ranks are Majors of Awesome. Call them Major.
Soldiers are grunts. Their rank is insignificant. You can call them whatever the ******** you want. Like... Soldier. Or f**.
Recruits aren't even in yet. Spit on them for not being smart and enlisting joining earlier.
ON HOW TO JOIN // HOW THE PROMOTIONS WORK
Lo, you begin as a lowly passer-by. You think to yourself: "man oh man, I wonder if Tadako's awesome will rub off on me if I hand her my a** on a platter." You look up, and see a big fat man Tadako hired to smile, nod, and say: "******** yeah." Rejoice! You want to join.
Post in here saying you want to hop aboard. Hooray for you! You are 'promoted' to Recruit status. This means Tadako will judge you. She does not judge hard. Yeah, she pretty much accepts everybody. She's kind like that.
If she thinks you merit joining, hooray for you! You are promoted to Soldier status. You'll have your name in text more important than your old, shabby Recruit name! You'll be brethren of other Awesome-Hopefuls.
Whoa there! Huge gap between Soldier and Officer status. Unofficially, there is an Officer In Training rank. This does not mean we will train you! We just give you this title so we can remember who the ******** we might want to promote. Keep up the good work.
Officer! Hello! You've reached the highest level of quasi-Awesome available. You have authority! Ish. That is to say, you can laugh at Recruits. That's right, Recruits are the only ones that do not matter; for they are not quite awesome! You can do what you will to the Soldiers, but rememer; an army doesn't run on the man-power of Officers; you bloody people are pansies! Ahahah!
If you are a specific colour, and just BURSTING WITH COLOURFUL GLEE, you are probably a fun individual and deserve a spot on Special Forces. Tadako likes rainbows. You get a job appropriate to your personality / relationship with the 'Ako. Unfortunately to go any higher, you'd either have to become Tadako or pull one giant feat of Awesome to get her to accept a co-owner. That would ******** up the name of the organization, though, so chances are it's not going to happen! Stick with SF, ingrate.
ON THE MERIT SYSTEM
Now, the policy on who gets to join TAF is very very loose. I let anybody in who's willing to join. Be a spammer. Be a "n00b." Be anybody, I don't care. I do not pass judgement on anybody anymore. But that doesn't mean I like anybody. Know how people get on my bad side? By picking fights. By being argumentive. By flaming ridiculously. Especially - especially - if you're doing it to members of TAF within the TAF thread. This is my house, people, and you play nice. Now, I can understand a little playfighting. I'm not superscary with this. I just don't want flamewars erupting just because you people don't like each other. I don't care about who's a grammar nazi and who's illiterate. As long as you're nice, you're A-OK.
This brings us to the system of punishment for misbehaving. You might get the idea that "misbehaving," in my eyes, is "picking fights" and other such things. Pretty much? Yeah. In fact, that's the only way I can see people pissing me off. In case someone finds some radical way to do it otherwise, it's not like that magical way doesn't mean consequences. I just haven't been pissed off otherwise yet.
Anyway. Each member is given 20 points. 10 points up, 10 points down. The member starts at 0 points. This is a good thing. It means they haven't done anything wrong. You should be very proud to have 0 points. Should the person do something to offend, there must be a way to react. Now, this is where demerits come in. These 10 "down" points are your chances. Tadako, and only Tadako, has the ultimate authority to give you a demerit. However, those who are higher in rank than yourself may suggest demerits, and anybody of any rank can send complaints. The difference between a suggestion and a complaint? None, really, it'll just make the whiney officers feel better about themselves. Either way, it comes down to Tadako judging if you're in the wrong. It's not easy to get a demerit, so don't worry your pretty little heads. As long as you don't do something profusely rude, you should be dandy. At the same time, there is no definition as to what action deserves what. You could get 10 demerits right away for one really stupid stunt. What happens when your chances run out? You're demoted. If you piss me off enough, I might even blacklist you. Now, chances are the more you're willing to anger Tadako, the less you care what happens in regards to her or the TAF. Which is fine; we both needn't care more than we have to.
With that out of the way, I'd like to introduce you to the demerit's cute and cuddly brother: the merit.
Merits are the exact opposite of demerits. Duh. They are slightly easier to come by, as I like a lot of what people do. The way I see it, people earn praise more frequently than scolding anyway. Same deal - if you get 10 merits, you earn yourself a pretty little promotion. Suggestions are welcome from all ranks... though there is a difference between the higher ranking and lower ranking members in such cases. And no, you can't suggest yourself. That's just gay. Way to be gay.
That's pretty much it. Merits / Demerits will be a public sort of thing. Everybody has their own little bar, located beneath their name wherever it appears in the enlisted list. Examples:
Batman
SUPERCOOL AWESOME DUDE
- [llllllllll|llllllllll] +
(Above is an example of a user with 9 merits.)
John/Jane Doe
AVERAGE MEMBER
- [llllllllll|llllllllll] +
(Above is an example of a user with no merits nor any demerits. Again, relatively good thing.)
Catwoman
b***h
- [llllllllll|llllllllll] +
(Above is an example of a user with 9 demerits.)
THAT IS ALL. JOIN. JOIN. JOIN. WE LOVE YOU ALL.
