What is your avatar style: I went from very minimalist to very cluttermatched in a short period of time. I was hacked last May, and tried to rebuild, then once I got my stuff back- all 1.3mil of it, I had amassed doubles of things, so I sold and made my inventory fun again. :]
What you believe is important for good Avatars: I feel most avatars should match or at least coordinate. I also appreciate themes, but if you can pull it off within a color scheme, I'll give you major bonus points. I'm kind of a softy, too, because I feel if you love an avatar, regardless of looks, what anyone else says shouldn't matter. For example, boys in the CB that wear fox sets and "ninja" garb. They love it and aren't looking to change, so I admire them. Color, texture and balance should only matter if you want them to.

Why you want to help: I've been around the AT for a very long time, and I have been one of the most active owners of this program. I love what this program offers, and I have made great friends with some of my previous adoptees. It's nice to see newbies evolve and move in the right direction.

What you're interested in Avatar wise My avatar style has always bee ever changing, I love all kinds of colors, and all kinds of styles. While I'm not the best with cosplays my overall style is very diverse, one thing that will never change is the fact that all my avatars contain black.
What you believe is important for good Avatars: I think its the overall look honestly. I like to look at a av and be able to say wow, thats awesome. I don't think minor color mismatches are bad, nor do I think being a tad bit off balance is bad. I also like avs that are creative, and you can see it took effort to put it together.

What is your avatar style: My avatars tend to be rather busy, with orange, purple, and black as the main colours. I hardly ever make anything without one of those colours involved. I'm totally in the sytle>matching camp, but I can appreciate a good match job.

Why you want to help: Far too often AT newbies get flamed by elitists without getting any real feedback. I think it's important to help new ATers grow and learn in a friendly and less critical environment. There are so many 'rules' that ATers seem to follow that a newcomer wouldn't know, and it's important to share this before yelling at them for not following them.
A little about yourself: My name is Karasunaki, but generally people call me Kara. I'm currently going to college for an Associates in Video Game Art, though my true love lies in writing. In addition to this, I am very addicted to Gaia, and have been since May 15th, 2003. If I ever got a chance to work here, I would just about die of happiness.
What is your avatar style: Generally, I like to use really bold and 'pure' colors. I'm more likely to use a stark black and white than a gray, though I try to stay varied. As for clutter, I usually fall in between clutter and simplicity. I like to spread my colors around without over-complicating things and making it look too busy. However, more recently I have been working on making some more complex avatars. As a general rule, I prefer to make matching avatars over anything else, though occasionally I will whip out a style or cosplay one. On the whole, I just love color, so I often cram as much of it into my avatars as I possibly can. I like my creations to be pretty.

What you believe is important for good Avatars: For me, creativity is the most important aspect of an avatar, though without technique it will still fail. By this, of course, I mean that a cosplay must be accurate; a theme or style avatar must work; and a matching avatar must have near flawless shade matching and distribution. If an avatar does not cover the basics, then it can't rise above them and succeed at greater things.

What is your avatar style: My style varies a lot, but I always try to reach perfect matching and balance. I tend to use earthy tones, like tan, yellows, greens and browns. My favorite color combo is probably tan, dark red, green, gold and white. I'm not really fond of classic themes like angelic/demonic and I don't like items to repeat on an avi.
What you believe is important for good Avatars: Certainly what's most important is that the maker likes it. In general, what makes a good avi is a good flow (both color and items flow). The overall appareance is also important. If you have a perfectly matching avi that looks hideous, you've failed. A theme is also important. Just throwing similar items on your avi won't make it good, there must be some kind of cohesion.

Why you want to help: I have a pretty good inventory and layering knowledge base. I'm also pretty patient and fair. I really want people to develop their own style. I'm not one to tell you "This is what you need to do to make a good avatar." I think there are certain methods and rules to be used, but I want people to branch out into their own personal style.
A little about yourself: I'm Erin (hi!), I'm practically 23.. and I'll be graduating from college this summer with a bachelor's degree in Anthropology. So really, I sound impressive. But don't let that fool you. I'm really a goof. I collect bouncy balls and random arcade toys (I work at one, so it's easy) and my pride and joy at the moment is one of those oldschool switchblade combs. Oh yes.
What is your avatar style: Man, that's a tough one. I try to throw some matching colors (perfect shades aren't always possible) and a style all in the same avatar. Sometimes they're skimpy, sometimes I cover every inch. All of the avatars of mine that I've loved have developed into characters. If my avatar has no personality, I generally end up changing it pretty quickly.
What you believe is important for good Avatars: I think that even though matching and distribution can make good avatars, and I respect people that can make them, an avatar has to represent a part of you. No, that doesn't mean you have to make "you". For instance, if you want to make a badass, you have to have a little attitude. Just be you and your avatars will be all the better for it.

Why you want to help: I think that this is a very good idea, and I wish that this was active when I was new to the AT. This can be a very intimidating forum, and it's important to make newer people feel welcomed here. People are more likely to stay in the AT if they feel as if they're part of the family, and I want to help people make AT their home.
A little about yourself: I'm Dana, 19, and I'm from Pennsylvania. I'm going to be a sophomore in college in a few months, and I'm majoring in Magazine Journalism (and hopefully French soon). What is your avatar style: First and foremost, I like making avatars that are both matching and stylish. I don't think that perfect matching is necessary, and it's the overall look that's the most important. If an item fits perfectly into my color scheme but throws my overall look off, I won't equip it. I also try to make sure that I have a decent skin balance. I don't like covering my avatar from head to toe with so many items that the skin's not showing. Picking the right skin color for my avatar has always been important to me, though I usually stick with the three darkest skin tones. Last but not least, my avatar has to look cute.

What you believe is important for good Avatars: A mix between your own style and item theme. Like if you use grass skirt green leaf and more mellow and nature colours you arent going to add something bright and out of theme.[like modern]

What is your avatar style: I like matching. Not everything has to be matchy matchy at all times, just straight up style or theme is one thing, but I don't have a lot of patience for the mixing of them when people use style or theme as an excuse not to think outside their narrow box and shape the avatar a bit. You can be stylish and still match, but using your "style" as an excuse for half-assed matching bothers me.
What you believe is important for good Avatars: Good avatars can come in many forms. I think consistency helps a lot - if you're complex in one part, simple elsewhere looks weird. If you have a theme going, stick with it all the way through.

What is your avatar style: I like complex clutter, good layering, and the use of oranges and greens. I switch between a skinless style and a more normal style-based look like the one I've got on at the moment. Key items are leggings/socks/shorts.
What you believe is important for good Avatars: Structure. I'm not a matching nazi - style avs can be -beautiful- if done properly - but nothing looks good if it's just been thrown together. You'll get nowhere if you don't know the layering system, for example.

What is your avatar style: Well, I try to experiment with many different types. of style. I really like backwards avatars, but they're harder to make. My main style would be semi-cluttered match avatars.
What you believe is important for good Avatars: I believe that a good avatar consists of balance. Balance can be many things - color balance, item balance, skin balance. All these things are crucial in an avatar. Like, I hate it when everything is the on the left side of the avatar, or if the avatar has a bare face and the arms and legs are covered.

What you believe is important for good Avatars: A strong personal style that can still appeal to others at least in some way. I love to see matching but there needs to be some personality in it. Otherwise it's just too generic for my taste.

A little about yourself: Certainly. I'm Orly, currently a highschool junior. I have aspirations in the biological sciences. I follow politics almost obsessively, checking blogs more than once a day. I'm a debater and public speaker, and I often share my not-necessarily-orthodox opinions loudly. I've been around the AT ever since I wandered in as a newbie to Gaia in 'o5, and I've never left.
What is your avatar style: I have a variety of avvie styles. At the time of writing, I'm leaning toward cute, because of my freshly purchased angelic headphones. My tekteks are where my style shows more, and there I definitely make ******** type avvies. I definitely lean towards flow and matching... my attempts at unmatching and cosplays are pitiful.
What you believe is important for good Avatars: Flow and originality. I luff detail and matching, but there are definitely alot of great avvies there that are simple and don't match.

What is your avatar style: Hmm. First and foremost, I use lots and lots of color, and lots and lots of layers. My two favorite things.
3nodding My favorite colors to use are orange, bright blue, bright green, and red. I almost always mix in white and/or black. My favorite items are pop top class coat, phoenix circlet, seeing stone, nightmare claws paired with medical gloves, monocle, buck teeth (<3) and the grecian shorts and shoes.
What you believe is important for good Avatars: While I love a good organized clutter/matching avi, I believe that one must include a sense of style. It's hard to go beyond just thowing matching colors together, and when you manage to do that, i think that's when you become successful. And, as long as you like the avi, that's all the matters.

A little about yourself: I'm a seventeen-going-on-old girl who's pretty mellow and laid back. I like being silly, and I'm pretty easy to get along with. I've been in the AT for 1 and 1/2 years out of my 2+ on Gaia :3
What is your avatar style: I love using items in an atypical manner and I like to create shapes and feelings and contrast with my avatars. I can do matching, but I also think about avatars in a more artistic light. Some favorite items of mine are the Western Zodiac horns, Superior Form, the mole and drag, and my katana. I usually stick to oranges, yellows, and warmer colors combined with black, but my favorite combination is metallic skin + red + white + black + gold.
What you believe is important for good Avatars: The most important factor is if the maker likes it. Nobody's going to want to keep an avatar if they don't like it... they'll only scrutinize. Originality is pretty important, as well as color and item choice. Matching isn't everything. If it doesn't make sense, then it's not very impressive in my eyes.

What is your avatar style: i don't really have
one signature style anymore. i used to be into cute clutter, but when i returned form my leave, i ventured into other types of avi styles. you know, trying to find a new 'me'. i really like to make all types, now that i tried them out. types like backwards/sitting/theme/style! more than often will you find me with a cute avi though. no matter what style i'm in, i try to put my own flavor into it. with that being said, you won't see me using black on my avi's. there's like a 2% chance of that. i just don't find black on my avi's cute:

What you believe is important for good Avatars: your own flavor. like i said earlier, it's always nice to incorporate your own flavor into an avi because no matter what style you're in, you can always make it your own by adding a little bit of 'you' into the avi. ahh, i hope you understood that~

A little about yourself: I’m Sock God, my real world name is Juniper, I work a lot and go to school, so, I’m a lazy sod, sarcastic and angsty and mostly, *smiles* I’m just pretty laid back and easy going.
What is your avatar style: I tend to make clutter tars, as in complex matching color clutter messes, I love them but they’re not to everyone’s tastes, I also make dark avatars with some frequency. I love metal items and working colorless. One of my favorite items must be the trap jaw, but I feel neither bound by it or by my other preferences either and am willing to work with many different styles, colors and avatar types depending on what my goal is.

Time's usualy on Gaia and time zone: I can never remember what my timezone is, but it is exactly an hour ahead of Gaia's time. I'm usually on from 5-8, Gaia time.
Why you want to help: I remember being a little newbie in the AT. It was hard work creating an AT worthy avatar, and even harder trying to figure out how to rate properly. I want to make AT life a little easier for a newbie.

What is your avatar style: (this includes color, specific items, etc) I usually have red or black in my avatar. I'm often seen holding a cig, a kiseru, or a cane, and my face'll usually have a sharaku nose, an ohaguro smile, blush clown makeup, and buckteeth. (Just 'cause I love how it looks!)

Why you want to help: Everyone was so nice to me when I first started in the AT, and I want to help others and help them enjoy this place as well.
A little about yourself: I'm Holli, I've just turned 20 in April, and I'm from Alabama. I'm very into steampunk and ARGs. I have three dachshunds and a loveable mutt. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do. My dream job would anything where I get paid to travel.
What is your avatar style: I try to keep the same hair style for as long as I can, so I usually pick something short and black, or some neutral color. A lot of my avatars tend toward to "looks simple, but really isn't" type. I have a somewhat restricted inventory, but I make do. All my avatars wear gloves, but I'm not sure why. Sometimes I try to put a new spin on old styles, or I'll resurrect an old avatar of mine that I think may be improved by a new item.
What you believe is important for good Avatars: Something interesting and appealing has to be there, whether it be personality, style, flow, or just something unusual.

What is your avatar style:A mixture of matching, non-matching, and theme. I love using the yokai mask. I try to make odd color combos and using less common items. I also like using cheaper items.
What you believe is important for good Avatars:A sense of flow and originality. Though matching is nice, I believe an overall appeal and sense of style is more important. Also, a use of odd items always makes an avatar more refreshing.

What you believe is important for good Avatars: Keep it stylized and snappy ;P It's good to hit your inventory with a bit a purpose, because it will show when you present your avatar to the world!

Why you want to help: When I first came to the AT, the people here were so nice to me, and helped me so much. And I remember the feeling I got when I looked at someone's avatar and said,
I wish I could make an avatar like that someday. So I wanted the chance to help the AT and all it's residents and future residents here.

What is your avatar style: heart I love style avatars, but I usually mix that in with a just a bit of matching. I love original color schemes, my favorite colors to use in avatars are probably purple, shades of brown, teal, and green.
lol I can usually layer pretty well, I love color distribution, I admit I'm kinda bias against avatars that use red/black, angelic/demon themes, etc. . .unless they are absolutely fantastic.
