I'm Spoon Monkey, and this is my Awesome Art Shop of Awesomeness. It has always been my dream to whore out my God-given artistic talent for Internet Monopoly money, and Gaia has finally given me that chance!

Only an idiot commissions an artist before seeing some of his work. To make it easier for prospective clients, here are some examples of my various styles:

There's a certain order I like to follow in accepting commissions. If I already have a few commissions, I may decide not to take another until they are all finished.

If you decide to commission me, PM me, DO NOT post your commission in this thread. Be sure to copy and paste the following form into your PM, and to fill in all the fields:



Number of characters:

[please delete this text and attach in its place pictures of the avatars to be drawn which WILL NOT CHANGE]

Avatar poses/activities:
[If there is more than one avatar, please specify which avatars will be doing what.]

Style:
[Specify which style you want--cartoon or stick-arms.]

Method of coloring:
[Choose uncolored, colored with pencils, colored with markers (no lighting effects), or colored with markers (full lighting effects).]

Comic balloons:
[I don't feel I need to explain what these are. If you want comic balloons, please tell me exactly what you want enclosed in them, and which characters will speak which lines.]

Captions:
[Captions would be in-picture text, such as your name, which is not enclosed in a comic balloon.]

May I include my signature?



Text within brackets may be deleted to make the form cleaner, but I won't lynch you if you send it, too.

Once you've sent me with the form, I'll ask for anything else I need to know, and then I'll send you a price. Be sure to keep the amount of gold I ask for the commission in reserve until I'm done. I keep the second post on this thread updated with the state of all my commissions, so if you want to know what's going on with your art, check there.

When your art is finished, I'll send you the watermarked version, and then wait for you to send the trade for my fee before sending the unmarked piece.

If you lose your art, PM me, and I'll see what I can do to help. But this is a courtesy; I won't refund my fee for something that isn't my fault.

If you have complaints about your completed piece, please let me know, and at my discretion I may refund a portion of my fee.

Finally, please note that I reserve the right to use your commission for whatever purpose I like.

This is a space for any random things I might want to include.





Right now, I'm out for a Solar Cloak. They seem to stay around 12k. I'll accept one as payment for art, equivalent to 12k. It'd have to be really freakin' awesome art to cost that much, though.

In this post, I will answer any questions which might arise about my service.



Q: Are avatars all you draw?

A: No. I will draw anything I believe to be within my ability, and of which I can get a good reference. I will do original characters, fanart, and even charicatures, provided it meets the aforementioned criteria.



Q: Is there anything you refuse to draw?

A: Yes, there are a few things I will not draw under any condition. I will not draw nude figures for commissions. I'm a prude, sue me. I also refuse to draw figures engaging in homosexual activity. I don't wish to stir up an argument or have a debate on the subject; my views are my own and I will keep them to myself. But I am not comfortable with drawing such things, and will not do it.



Q: Do you draw anthropomorphs (animal-people)?

A: As of the writing of this answer, I have never drawn anthropomorphs before. I am willing to try it, but expect a higher fee.



Q: You requested a picture of my avatar that won't change...where can I get one?

A: You can get an unchanging picture of your avatar by right-clicking any picture of your avatar and saving it to your computer, then uploading the picture to Photobucket.com or a similar site.
