Examples and Styles
The Styles of Role Playing:
So, you want me to make a Role Playing experience for you, do you? Well first you have to decide on which style you want. There are three main styles of Role Playing, and they are as follows:
-Normal (Recommended for very inexperienced Roleplayers.)
-Semi-Literate (The main choice for most Roleplayers.)
-Fully Literate (The choice of RP for serious Roleplayers. If you are a very experienced Roleplayer, this may be the choice for you.)
The Examples of Role Playing:
-
Normal: Tom said hello to the girl
or "Hi there." (There isn't much depth to a normal RP, but for the Roleplayer on the go, this might be your choice of RP)
-
Semi-Literate: Jericho walked quickly and quietly through the darkness, making not a sound, quieter than a mouse as his eyes scanned the shadows around him. He was scared, yes, but it didn't bother him much anymore. Jericho was used to things that went
bump in the night, so it was just a natural instinct. A crimson red droplet fell from his arm to the wet cement below, causing him to look down as the creature that was stalking him came out to attack. (As you can see, there is a lot more depth here, but it's not very long. As stated earlier, this is the main choice for Roleplayers, as it's in depth, but not too complicated.)
-
Fully-Literate: Aiden walked quickly, urgent and pressing matters on his mind of every which concern, what with the wars and the recent killings. He was completely occupied, and had not time in which he could see his wife or his children, but what did it matter to him? He was always better with affairs of war and killings, than with matters of the home and the heart. I should really take Thomas out to play today...Maybe that will help our relationship. Aiden sighed, the soft pitter-patter of his feet echoing through the alleys in which he walked. Although dank and dark, it was better than sticking to the street, and quicker, as he always told his friends and family. But what did it matter to them? He was nothing but an uptight business man to them, a workaholic who always found strategizing a fun and interesting topic. Family was lost to him, seemingly nothing but a waste of time. Although that wasn't true, Aiden had not time to argue. Time was against him, in the worst ways, and he had no time to think. He had only the slightest of time to deliver top-secret documents to his commanding officer over in the submarine by the docks. Five minutes left...I better hustle if I'm going to make it in time. As he started running, Aiden tripped over a rock, the suitcase which he once held in his hand flying through the air along with him. He landed in a puddle of muddy water, and as he was about to get up, he caught a glance of himself in the reflection of the water, and he sighed. "What have I become? Just another machine, a tool of war, nothing more than that. I'm pathetic." (Now, although that didn't seem long, I had to knock it down in size so it wouldn't take up too much space. As you can see, it was long, and very descriptive. Now, this can be fun, if you know how to Roleplay like that. If you aren't a very skilled roleplayer though, this one is best left to the professionals.)
