Plot Summary


It is Present Day. The Old World Folklore of vampires, demons, and all other such devils have fallen away into disrepair, leaving a blazing ignorance of what lurks in the shadows. People tend to their everyday lives, unknowing of the Nightly Hunt.

The Vampyres themselves have indeed endured over the millennia, keeping with their time-old habits of drinking the blood of the living, be they human or animal. However, their past glories have faded. They cannot deceive this new generation of humans into procuring their riches, as they have done in past centuries. Exempting a few, most Vampyres live in complete secrecy and sometimes poverty, cut off from the rest of the world. Some manage to find a drunken fool, a "floozy", or one of the homeless for a rare meal. Mostly, they can only manage rats, or stray cats and dogs. They have become wretched.

...They are nothing, though, compared to a new threat which has surfaced - the Valkyres (Vahl-kurz). These creatures are mean, lean, feeding machines.... and they will kill all in their path... including the Vampyres. They are nearly identical to normal Vampyres, in appearance, though their powers are much keener than their cousins. Most of all... they can walk during the day. This is a huge advantage. They prefer to feed alone, though as of late, their numbers have been growing. The Vampyres suspect that a leader has risen amongst their new foe, and is rallying them for some dark plot.

Though much more powerful than the humans, the Vampyres are still vulnerable to Valkyrian attacks. Many of the old, prominent Vampyres refuse to accept that they have become prey, and do not acknowledge the presence of the Valkyres.

It is now down to this: the Vampyres need help. They need reinforcements. And the only ones they can turn to...

...are their former enemies.

World Information


Setting
The main setting is your standard, run-of-the-mill urban city. There are mysterious dark alleyways, loud pubs, clubs, neon lights galore, etc. for your usage. There is also a large park in the center of the city (think Central Park, but smaller), and a small cemetery on the outskirts.

The center of the city is the busier, more upscale part of town, while the outskirts are more like the "projects".

Races
There are a few races for you to choose from.

Humans: These, obviously, are the main population of the city. They include (but are not limited to) the homeless, the entertainers, and the bartenders, as well as the more underground citizens like slayers, warriors, Vampyric familiars, etc. They should have no extra "powers" other than their natural abilities (i.e. Agility, acrobatics, swordsmanship, strength, etc.) I may (or may not) accept one or two psychics.

Vampyres: These are the main warriors in the battle. They can include (but are not limited to) the aristocratic bastards, the remorseful fledglings, the bad-a** motorcycle-riding jerks, etc. The powers that Vampyres can have are pretty flexible, and can be unique to anyone's character, but I will let you know what is and isn't acceptable when you PM me your profiles.

Valkyres: Like playing the Bad Guy? Here's your chance. Valkyres are usually slightly insane, if not completely. (You'd have to be insane to feed off your own kin.) They are stronger, faster, and more keen... however, this does not make them invincible. A very strong Vampyre can have a good fighting chance with them, but Vampyres that strong are hard to come by, and in this battle, you need numbers. Don't go crazy with their abilities; expect me to shave off a few, if you do.

Lycanthropes: Aside from the main two species of this RP, I am allowing Lycans (or "werewolves" wink to be a part of the action as well. You can make them what you want. It can be that they only transform on a full moon, or they can transform whenever they want; they can go crazy in wolf form, or they can be completely aware of their surroundings. In that sense, I don't care what you do. Just remember, as with all the races, keep everything in moderation.

1. Please be semi- to fully literate. This means minimal to no spelling/grammar errors; at least 3 sentences; and proper punctuation/capitalization.
2. No god-modding. I am the only GM here. This means that you cannot perform an action against another character's will or without giving them a chance to respond. Also, please stick to the continuity.
3. PM ALL PROFILES DIRECTLY TO ME.* I will not accept any profiles that are posted on this topic by anyone else other than myself. To show that you have read the rules, please put a whaaambulence emote in your private message. I reserve the right to critique all profiles (with constructive criticism, naturally) that do not fit the criteria of this roleplay.
4. Do not kill another player's character without my knowledge and/or without the player's consent. We may need them later for some... purpose... -evil laugh- ...Heh. Just kidding. -wink-
5. No cybering!! I cannot emphasize this enough. Not only does it go against the Gaia TOS... but it is also tacky, awkward, and disgusting. Just don't do it. M'kay?
6. Keep swearing at a moderate level. Personally, I don't care that much. I swear. Just don't put it between every ******** word, okay? ^^ For the sake of others.
7. NO CHATSPEAK WHATSOEVER. But you should already know that, from the very first rule. I do nt wnt 2 c u spkin lyke dis. 7h47 41s0 g035 4 d15. Normal English, please. And instead of the whaaambulence, put an emo emote instead.
8. When typing in OOC Code, please use [[]], (()), "ooc:", or something that differs from your In Character Text. However, please do not simply use different colors.
9. Most of all, have fun! That's what RPing is all about! SO HAVE FUN. I COMMAND YOU. scream ..... x) But really. Have fun with it. It makes this all the more worthwhile.

Bio: Found as an infant on the steps of a church, she was picked up by an extremely old vampyre. Raising her as her own Amelia was taught to fight at a young age. She never needed to take care of her self until about three weeks ago when her mother was killed by a lone Valkyre protecting Amelia. When she sleeps at night she can still here her mothers screams. With out her mother she is just trying to find a place in this world, and a way to seek revenge naturally.
Weapons/Abilities: pistol with silver bullets, a silver butterfly knife. She is a little stronger and faster than most humans her size because of her training..
Appearance: Say it was only a dream
Other: never went to school learned every thing she knows from her mother.

Daywalker (Special Case)

Race: Daywalker (Half Human/Half Vampyre)

Bio: Nikke was born on the day of All-Hallows-Eve, and died on that day too. Her mother was a human, feeble and weak, her father a Vampyre, so very strong. After her mother found out what she was, she tried to kill her in every way possible, not realizing Nikke was already dead. When she turned 5, her father came and took her away to her Vampyre clan witch he was leader to. She lived there for two, maybe three years when her father was found dead, or whatever you call a Vampyre when it's not undead anymore, blead dry. All of the clan blamed her, a 8-year-old, for her father's death and tried to run her out, but mainly for being a Daywalker, a half-breed. After that she lived on her own for a while and learned to controle her few powers, all by herself.
Weapons: A dagger she got from her father in the shape of a Vampyre's K-9 tooth.
Abilities/Powers: She can fly without wings, become a 'I vant to suck you're blud' once every three months, and can pick up and mess with peoples emotions.
Appearance: Nikke
Other: She can't drink any form of booze, for it makes her want to kill people.

I cannot ever repay what was done to me, on that fateful night; I am both grateful and spiteful of this eternal curse."

Bio: Larka was born into a house of stuck up aristocrats. Her family figured they would never be targeted by the Valkyre and went about their daily lives. At a young age Larka was aware of the new thread always taking the up most precaution when she slept during the daylight hours. She woke one night to find her entire family slaughtered. Their throats had been torn, blood drained. She fled the manor fearing they would be back to finish the job.
Several years have passed since the incident. Larka has grown into her aristocratic heritage, she is very stuck up and easily angered. Larka has never actually encountered a Valkyre before, she believes if the time comes she will stand her ground an make an attempt to bring it down or die trying.
Weapons: She carries a family heirloom. A katana. The sheath is decorated the forgotten vampire language the scroll work is elegant and beautiful. The sheath itself is red the scroll work is written in gold. The blade itself is made of silver.
Abilities/Powers: She is a master in the art of seduction. She has quick reflexes and is skilled at sword fighting.

Other: She has a nasty temper, and is quick to anger.

Character Name: Donovan Conan Keene "Van"

Actual Age: 517
Bio: Donovan was about seventeen when he was bitten. His previous life was lost when he was. All he remembered was that he was near death when someone bit him. They basically saved him. He never found out who the person was. They must have died. In the area he used to live, there was a type of vampyre that ate other vampyre. He was one of the lucky ones to get away. He moved to the urban city not too long ago, being a wanderer. He lives in a shabby run-down not used anymore, orphanage. It has been threatened to be tore down, but it never has thanks to his persuasive skills.
Weapons: His words, abilities, and two curved blades that he hides on his person.
Abilities/Powers: Donovan has the power of persuasion. He can persuade certain people into doing things he wants. He is also rather fast. Unusually fast for a vampyre, actually.

Other: More on appearance- Usually, Donovan wears black leather skinny pants. His shirt is a back skintight long sleeve. He also wears a long black leather coat that could hold his blades with straps on the inside of it. He wears steel-toed black leather boots to match. He usually looks like one of those mild-goth people, so no attention is drawn to him.

Valkyres

Bio: Rowan is quite unique for a Valkyre. Calling her insane is a bit of an understatement. Unlike her "family", Rowan is not openly hostile to her preys. In fact, she can act a bit "innocent" towards them. This is due to the fact that, yeah, she is insane. She is the youngest daughter of the Rosethorne clan and she was born gifted with the ability of premonition. When she was turned a valkyre, her powers of foresight increased tenfold and drove her nuts. She is not too cruel on normal days but when the urge kicks in, she can be one heck of a sadistic b***h.

Abilities/Powers: Gift of Foresight

Other: None at the moment.

Gaia Username: Vampire Lovliness
Character Name: Rayvn
Gender: Female
Race: Valkyre

Bio: A Dark being, this female is harsh and cold. She is a merciless killer and will stop at nothing. her heart is only passionate for that of any blood. her eyes are as cold as her heart, both just as icy as her skin. She will kill in public just to make a scene, She will also taunt and torment her victims before death. Her past is as known as her age, and her age is as known as the meanind of life. She will kill just to kill and not to drink. her heart is for no one but herself, all the while making her more dangerous then most Valkyre...
Weapons: A Black steel sword dipped in poisen, and her fangs
Abilities/Powers: She has great speed, she also can manipulate darkness

Bio: Countless Slaughters riddle her past in a shroud of Bloody corpses, and many torn cadavers. She was bitten at first when she was Twenty four, Whilst taking a stroll in the woods On her wedding night. Left for dead on the side of the road with a bite mark on her shoulder, she lost all touch with her human self. The following thirty years where left unchecked-in by her turner, Izlude. Raine saw little of Izlude in those thirty years, And assumed him dead. Her suspicions where confirmed when she found him in human form, Torn apart and strewn into a pit on the side of the road she claimed as a killing field. She was not morally stricken by the loss of her Turner, As she did not care for him much.
Weapons: Her Claws, And a vicious Bite.
Abilities/Powers: Uncanny ability to heal wounds the second they are open, And the 'ability' of running on all fours on walls.

The white Dress must be discounted; It's the wedding one mentioned above. She wears White petticoats, as stated above, with a black turtleneck beneath, and the occasional set of Jeans. Other than that, She wears Somewhat Dressy black pants.

(Legs are basically Similiar to all of Lycans, So I basically just left them out. They bend the wrong way, Opposite that of Humans. And, Her feet are angled up, so she's walking on her toes and part of her foot itself.)

Bio: Recently turning 19 Adrain was bitten in a street fight between raging Lycanthropes, Adrain found himself in a hospital bed, badly bandaged he didn't feel too pained, he had no awarness of the supernatural world and no clue what had happend eventually he was freed from the hospital when they found his wounds had healed abnormaly fast, including a bite mark on his side. Little did Adrian know the only reason he had not already become a raging monster was that it had been a new moon when he was bitten, when lycanthropes are at there weakest, Adrain put down his rising aggresion, and increased sense to stress, not noticing they both increased as the full moon got nearer.....
Weapons: In human form, adrian is fit to a certain extent but not abnormally or even athelitcaly so, in werewolf form however he gains all the normal traits, strength, claws and bites although he is powerful he is inexperienced
Abilities/Powers: Overall power directly relates to the moon, strength, fast healing etc, he becomes more human on a new moon, and more wolf on a full moon
Appearance: Adrain is just pushing 6ft tall, he has short dark brown hair, and brown eyes, as the moon turns full his eyes slowly change to yellow, he is fit but not athelitcally so and has a average face, with strong eyebrows and a fairly noticeable nose which he often takes offence at, sharp eyes that seem tired and often angry and a fairly high cheek bones

+ 08/01/2007: Two players have joined the roleplay; one Lycan, and one who is either a Vampyre or a Valkyre. If they choose the Vampyrian side, then we will still need a Valkyre. While I am a GM, I would prefer not to double-roleplay the entire Valkyrian force, thank you. So, that is the deciding factor....

+ 8:18 PM: Finally! biggrin We have a Valkyre. Let the roleplaying begin! I will post first and "set the mood", if you will. -smiles-

+ 9:13 PM: The first post is done. The RP has been set in motion. And all the races are covered now! But don't let that stop you, prospective players! Keep on joining! I will probably allow one more of the other three races, to keep the numbers moderate and even.
