June 27th, 2007: The shop is going on a Semi-Hiatus tomorow because Caos is leaving for the Amazon for a month (no electricity gonk ) so we will wrap up the birthday event today. I won't be able to do growings or log on at all, I'm really sorry to everyone who will miss any growings and I'm sorry for the slow days coming up.
May 26th, 2007: Birthday event begins today! Loads of contests and sales for you to participate in!
May 11th, 2007: Flatlase begins at 4pm EST, so ceome on over and get a Nierato.
May, 6th, 2007: First Auction begins today! The four elemental cubs need new owners!
April 21st, 2007: Flatsale Previews are up, today at 6pm EST, the flatsale will begin!

Story


Ziggy awoke to a flash of lighting outside of her hallow. She shivered slightly as she stared out into the darkness. Another flash of lighting illumnated the area outside. She thought she saw something slip between two trees some distance away. She stood up and stepped out into the cold rain. She walked to where she thought she she had seen the figure. Nothing was there so she walked into the woods. Soon she heard a voice to her left. "Dear what are you doing out here? You must be very cold and wet. Do you want to come inside." The voice was like music calm and sweeping. Another flash of lighting reviled the owner of the sweet voice. Before Ziggy sat a beautiful Nierato. She was graying around her muzzle but her eyes still shone with action. Her fur was a deep black color it almost seem to have a blue color in it. Her markings were of the most stunning sliver. Ziggy sat a moment in awe. The older Nierato laughed a little and smiled. That brough Ziggy back from her thoughts "I would love to come in. It is very cold and wet out here. My name is Ziggy. What is yours?" Ziggy asked following the beautiful Nierato into her home. "My name is Samora. Tell me Ziggy do you know anything about how we came to be here?" Samora asked as she curled up and invited Ziggy to sit next to her. Ziggy walked over and lay down next to her, careful not to touch her beautiful fur. "No mam I do not know. I have always wondered though, but noone knows." Samora smiled and curled her tail around Ziggy. "Well little one I will tell you. A long time ago before you or your parents or your grandparents, there was a very noble Nierato. Her name was Samora." Samora stopped and smiled. Ziggy looked up in awe "Your name is Samora. Does that mean you are her?" Samora laughed "No my child I was named after the great one. She was alone sitting upon clouds high above us. For a while she was happy with just herself but in time she became very sad. She had noone at all to talk to or spend her time with. For a time she walked through her cloud home looking for anyone to take away her sadness. Yet she never found anyone so she decended upon earth. However as she did so she gave up her imortality and wings. She did not care though for she knew that on eart she would find someone.

She travled for many years till she came across a strang sight. An animal that walked upon two legs. Samora was very weak from all her travles and was amazed at this strange sight. The strange animal walked up to her and patted her head. "You look tired." It said to her. She nodded her head and the strange animal took her in. For many nights Samora slept. On a stormy night such as this one she awoke. The animal walked toward her and introduced itself as Cline. Samora was very greatfull for this animals help. She tried her hardest to show it to him. Alas he did not seem to understand her. This did not seem to bother him however he seemed to understand that she was greatfull. After that Samora spent every day with Cline. He taught her many things. Like he was a human and the flying things in the sky were birds and the swimming animals were fish. He also taught her how to find food like berries and to hunt. For many years Samora enjoyed the company of her friend Cline. Sadly one day Cline became ill. Samora stayed with him, as he got worse and worse. She brough him food and water but nothing helped. Near the end Samora longed to tell him how much she cared for him and how much he had done for her. One day as Cline was lying on his bed Samora willed him to hear her thoughts. Finally her thoughts rung out clear in Cline's head. At first he was startled and then slowly he relized it was only Samora. He smiled at her and patter her head. She felt his life force leave him as he slipped into sleep never to awake again.

Samora sobbed in anguish for many days. Until late one night she heard a voice. 'My dear Samora why do you weep so' she looked up for the voice had come from above. 'I have lost the truest friend I ever had.' Samore replied into the nothingness. 'My dear you have done so much to help the world. Why don't you return to your clouds on high and watch over the world you love so deeply?' The voice was gentle as it spoke. Samora nodded and replied 'I will do as you ask. I will return to you and watch the world.' With that Samora was lifted from the spot and returned to the heavens, and with that her imortality was returned as was her wings. However as she left the world itself began to weep. 'Why have you left us Samora? Do you not care for us anymore?' Samore Sobbed 'No my dear friends I love you all so deeply. I must however return to my home in the sky.' Samora's tears fell to the Earth and from her tears sprouted flowers. From these Flowers the frist Nieratos were born. Samora smiled 'My friends I give you my children. The Nierato, please my friends take them in and teach them your ways.' With that Samora quited and watched the world from her home on high. So you see Ziggy you are always being watched over by the most loving Nierato of all." Samora smilled.

Ziggy laid her head on her paws awe struck. "How do you know all of this? That is amazing." Samora smiled sadly "I know all of this because....." Samora's voice fadded away. Ziggy looked up and behind her but Samora was gone, but in her spot was a feather, a beautiful silver feather. Ziggy smiled and curled up around the feather. She looked up "You know that because you were Samora the whole time. The real Samora, I know now and I understand. Thank you Samora." With that Ziggy laid her head back down and went to sleep still curled up around the dazzling feather.

About

The Nierato are a very fun and loving species, and are very loyal when they are adults. Their size is comparable to that of a Labrador Retriever's. The Nierato usuale make their won little place to live in when they are cubs, and then expand it or get a new home when they reach their teenage years. These homes can be anything from a hole in the ground, to a hollow tree. The Nierato do have contact with their human owners, and play around with them as they would with another Nierato. Parent Nierato's love their offspring, and love to keep them, but they know how imprtant it is for the baby Nierato to be taken care for by a Human, that is why new cubs are put up for adoptions, and they never find out who their real parents are. Sometimes, a parent will only give up two or three of their offspring and raise the rest by him/herself. The Nierato are obnivorous, eating berries, fruits, plants, bugs, fish, and occasionally small mammals.

There are certain rules that you must follow so that you don't get banned from the thread or so that your pet isn't taken away from you, and believe me, these things do happen.

Always be respectful to Caos, Butterfly, TheNierato, anyone and everyone participating in the thread.
Be it if they are RP'ing, buying/bidding, participating in a sale, or just hanging out. This will inmediately get you into the grey list.

Never ever steal, edit, or copy the art.
This may be lineart, the coloring, the certs, the banners, anything at all and you will get blacklisted and/or reported for art theft.

Gaia rules apply.
As well as in any thread.

Be at least semi-literate, if not completely literate.
You may be semi-literate and use emotes and symbols in informal RP, but in 'Paragraph' RP, please be completely literate, I really don't like chatspeak.

Please Roleplay alot.
The more you roleplay, the faster your pet will grow, and the more offspring it would get if you decide to breed it. Growths and breeding can occur without RP, but it definitely will be slower and less offspring.

No cheating during sales.
This means editing posts, taking back bids, not paying/not responding.

No whining.
If you don't get one, you don't get one. That's that.

Cub: Aw, look how cute he is! When these cubs are born, they make themselves a small home, it can be a hole in the ground, or inside a hollow tree. They spend their day safe and sound inside, and come out every once in a while to eat and play a bit. They are in this stage for about a week

Pup: These pups can still fit in the home they made, but only go in to sleep. They are very active and spend their time playing around with other Pups without a care in the world. They are very curious and like to find out what goes on around them. They love to spend time with you and play and cuddle with you all the time. They spend a little more than half a month in this stage

Teen: These Nierato are nearing their adult stage, and might not fit in the home they made anymore, if this is the case, they have to either make themselves a new one, or enlarge their old one if they can. These guys are mostly independent, and a bit rebellious, like any teen. They lern to experiment with love and finding partners. It is at this time when they really get to know you and bond with you, but sometimes spend quite an amount of time away from you. They are in this stage for a month

Adult: They are now fully grown and still fit in the home they made as a teenager. They are able to breed with their lifetime partner, or with an aranged breeding. They arent your pets anymore, but your companions, and your friends. So far, this is as far as your pets will grow.

How much do they cost?
They cost 3k at flatsales. Price may vary on raffles and auctions.
How would I RP them?
You can do three things: You can RP them as solitary, without an owner, just on their own, meeting other Nierato, and you'd come in in informal RP, or in OOC. Another thing is you can adopt them as soon as they are born, and you'll always be their owner, and can interact with them in RP and stuff. The last thing you can do is have them start off without an owner, and have them find you or something and you become their owner later on in their life. Note** You cannot live with them or have them live with you. Even if you are their owner, they must make their own homes and gather their own food, but you may bring them treats and stuff.

~Flatsales~

Flatsales are generally speed saled here. We will have a specific number of cubs for sale and and you will fill out a form to get it. I will post in big red letters the word "OPEN" and the flatsales begins. The flatsales will be run on a first-come-first-serve basis, meaning if you wanted, say, a purple one, and someone already took it...well...tough luck sweatdrop . For a flatsale, you will get to choose the specifics, including name, personality, and even a different owner, if you wish. The price for a cub in all flatsales will be 3k for each cub, and as time goes by and if they get more demanding, I'll raise it to 4k. Any editing of posts in a flatsale is cheating, so just say, for example: "Whoops! I'm sorry, I meant female, not male."

~Raffles~

Raffles will be like any other regular raffle. The price for all raffle tickets is 100g, and you are limited to a maximum of ten slots. Once the end date of the raffle has arrived (which will probably last a week or so, depending on the raffle), a member of the staff will use a randomizer number from one, to the highest number of tickets sold, and the resulting number will win the prize. If there are two or more cubs for raffle, you are in luck, becase what we will do is use the randomizer once, and the first number gets the first cub,m and then randomize again, and the secon number gets the second cub, and so on and so on. All tickets for a raffle will not be added to the list until you have payed for the ticket(s) you purchased.

~Auctions~

Auctions will usually last about a week and the starting price would be 2k. The minimum increasement for the bid is 200g. You may use TekTek to determine the prices for any items you want to bid. I will probably have an autobuy, but, that will be determined with the aution. You may anonimously bid by PMing TheNierato, and I will put the highest bidder up as anonimous. Yeah, auctions are simple to understand. xd

~Suprise Giveaways~

As we all know, the Nierato are a wild species, and many Nieratos have owners, but some Niearatos are wild and ownerless. There may be an occasion where a wild Nierato sees a current owner and sees how well he/she treats his/her Nieratos and the Nierato may ask for your ownership. You can get a Nierato only if you are very active and roleplay alot. You will get a PM with the picture of the Nierato (The stage it comes in may vary) and it's gender and personality and if you accept the offer, then the Nierato is yours!


PAYMENT OPTIONS:
In a flatsale and raffles, always send the payment in pure gold immediately to the mule. Auctions and Customs that sell for Less than 10k will also have to be sent immediately to the Mule, but this time you may offer items with their correct price (see tektek.org). Auctions and Customs MORE than 10k can be payed immediately in gold or items or both, or you can apply for the payment plan. The pament plan is not a monthly payment, but you can claim your auction or order a custom and not pay immediately. The cub will still be yours, but you cannot RP with it nor will it grow, nevertheless, there is not deadline as to when you have to pay. Remember, its not monthly, so if it takes you 5 months to pay, pay it all.

Rules for Breeding:

If you want a breeding, first find another owner (or you can use two of yours) and then check to see if there are any breeding slots open. If there are, PM TheNierato and you will get a reply if you got the slot.

Either Caos or Butterfly will decide wether or not you have been RPing with your pet, and how much you have done so, therefore deciding the maximum and minimum number of pets you may get. For example, if you don't RP alot, then your chances are 1-2 pets, but if you RP alot, then it can be 3-5 pets. If one person RP's alot, and the other doesnt then it will be 1-5 cubs. The exact number of cubs will be decided by a randomizer. After the number is determined, the price would be 2k per cub born.

Adults may breed with any other Nierato, regardless if they are lifetime coupler or not, but remember, if they are not lifetime couples, your Nierato may consider it 'forced breeding'. Same-sex breedings must be with lifetime couples. If you want to be a lifetime couple with another Nierato, then you must PM TheNierato with proof (meaning links to RP, or copied and pasted) and they will become couples. Lfetime couples may begin RPing with love and flirting and whatnot from the teen stage.

The owners must decide what to do with the cubs, and they can pretty much do anything with them too, but there are some guidelines that you may follow if you wish for orientation: Each owner gets exactly half of the offspring if it is an even number (two or four). If it's only onle offspring, then the owners must decide who gets it, or roll for it. If it is three or five offpring, the owners will get one or two each, and the extra one may be rolled for or flatsaled, raffled, or auctioned. These are standard guidelines, so if the owners agree to sell all of them, so be it, or if one owner doesn't want any, and the other wants all of them, that can be aranged as well. For any pets sold, 40% must go back to the colorist.

To obtain a custom Nierato, you must follow specific rules:


1. No begging for a custom Nierato, it won't make you look good, and you'll be greylisted.

2. A custom nierato will vary with price, depending on difficulty. One or two colors with a simple design: 7k
One more color: +1K
Two more colors: +1.5K
Complex pattern: +3-5K
Minor Lineart Edit: +5-10K
Major Lineart edit: +10-25K

3. If there are no slots, and one or more of the colorists has their bribes open (check staff post), then you may offer a bribe to TheNierato via PM, and you will get a reply whether your bribe is accepted or not.

Conditions for pet trades:

--The lineart must be clean, colored on the computer, not be too simple.--
--I probably won't take pet trades if I have no custom slots open, but I don't mind if you ask wink --
--I love anthros and animals alike, and i'll take regular humans as well--
--If you get me a pet worth 20K, you'll probably get as many Nierato equivalent to that price (A very complicated custom and a regular one, or five regular ones, or a not so complicated custom and two regular ones..whatever), but keep in mind, i might be too busy to make six pets just for you...so I probably won't ^.^--
