[ Rules ]
Do you know who’s listening?
Do you know who’s listening?
Put “Crows Never Cry Tears” as the PM title.

- [oo1.] I am god(dess) of this RP. I have the right to create new rules whenever I feel it necessary, not accept profiles if I don’t deem them to be suitable for the RP, and can kick anyone out if they don’t abide by the rules.
[oo2.] Follow Gaia’s TOS and keep everything at PG-13 or below. Little innocent kids exist on Gaia! Don’t destroy their precious innocence! Cybering is absolutely forbidden in the thread. If you want to do something that you feel will violate the PG-13 rule, please take it to the PMs.
[oo3.] Godmodding and Gary Stus are forbidden. Everyone has flaws and weaknesses. No one is perfect; not you, not I. None of us are puppeteers either. Don’t manipulate a character that isn’t yours. Keep your hands to yourself.
[oo4.] Don’t be rude to any roleplayer. If you don’t like someone, just grin and bear it. Insults, discrimination, and intolerance are prohibited.
[oo5.] This is a yaoi roleplay. Don’t like it, don’t join.
[oo6.] Girls aren’t allowed as characters in the roleplay. Girls may play male characters, but I don’t want to see any female characters unless they are NPCs.
[oo7.] Literacy is a must. This is a literate to advanced literate roleplay. This means that your posts are 90% rid of grammar and spelling mistakes. Don’t know what being “literate” means? Then don’t join. I don’t expect posts to be spotless of these simple English grammar errors because no one is perfect. I make mistakes often as well. Just be sure to proof-read your post before submitting it. And while I understand that quality is more important than quantity, I would like to see at least roughly two paragraphs per post. One, two, or three liners are unacceptable. If you’re literate, you can write more than that.
[oo8.] This is a long-term roleplay. Don’t come in, post a few times, and then never come back. I expect at least two or three posts minimum per week. If you don’t make a post within a week’s time, I will send you a warning that you are about to get dropped from the roleplay. If you join, you have to make a commitment to stay with the RP. If for any reason you can’t post because of having a hectic life or your computer broke down (which is understandable and happens all the time), please PM me or post in the OOC thread that you’ll be absent for a certain period of time.
[oo9.] NPCs can be controlled and used by anyone.
[o10.] Please use font sizes 9-11 in the IC thread. It just keeps the RP more aesthetically pretty.
[o11.] Be original!
[o12.] While fighting is allowed, and actually encouraged, please do not kill off any characters without the roleplayer’s permission. If two characters get into a battle, remember not to godmod. Just for the sake of not wanting to hear debates, the two teams need to roll a 10 sided dice three times. The higher of the average numbers of the three rolled will be the winner of the fight. No arguments. However, you’re welcome to play out the fight details however you want. But the outcome of the fight is determined by the dice! If your character dies, you are allowed to create a new character.
[o13.] PM all profiles to me. Do not start posting until I have accepted your profile.
[o14.] Keep OOC in the OOC thread.
[o15.] Can’t keep up with the RP or have fallen out of interest and don’t want to keep roleplaying anymore? Please tell me! That way I won’t be wondering where you disappeared off to.
[o16.] Now highlight the entire post.
[o17.] Got questions? Post them in the OOC thread or PM them to me. I’m more than happy to answer any questions you’ve got.
[o18.] Steal any images and I'll have to hurt you severely. No stealing images! Rawr!
[o19.] This is an RP that is constantly going under revision. If there are any changes made to the rules, the storyline, or the RP information, all the new text will be in red and I will post in the OOC thread where the changes are located.

[ Storyline ]
The myth is not supposed to retire
The myth is not supposed to retire

- It’s the year 2007.
Here, in the twenty-first century, in the middle of the busiest cities across the globe filled with millions of citizens occupying the streets, is a world were the economy and industry flourish. It is impossible to stand in a single room without noticing that every single item in that room is made by some large company or another. Your computer, monitor, speakers, keyboard, books, papers, even down to those individual paper clips littering your desk are all made by different profitable companies. However, the world where we as citizens live in is very different from the business world. Out there, it’s a vicious battle of the survival of the strongest…..or in the company’s case, the survival of the ones with the most power. To obtain more power and high statures, companies will willingly destroy another business of a higher stance. But likewise, any company is at risk of being taken down by some other company lurking in the shadows.
Large corporate companies have taken drastic measures to ensure that their businesses will survive by locking away their most valuable and top secret information behind doors after doors of security. But even top notch security cameras, booby traps, motion sensors, firewalls, and virus protection can be beat by the most talented hackers and thieves. Their corporations are at stake. The billions of dollars that have put the business owners at the top pedestal of society can all come crashing down at any moment in space or time. And this has left said owners in a state of paranoia.
To protect themselves and the corporation they had invested their entire life in, many of these owners have decided to leave their valuable secrets not in the hands of the machines, but back in the hands of humans themselves. Not just any ordinary human that they randomly picked off any old street though. These men are selected because of their physical fitness and loyalty to their large paycheck to protect the secrets corporate business executives have entrusted them with. All of the valuable business information is encoded on a few simple minidisks and given to the hired man. And with the safety of their business left in the hands of what their hired men have guaranteed to be the best security around, these big bucks men have gone back to doing exactly what they are best at: selling products and reaping in the profits.
But protecting just simple disks loaded with the secrets of the business isn’t just another security feature. It has turned into a game. A very dangerous game with rules and regulations. Every large corporation has one team of men to protect their information. Each team is made up of four people. And the job of these people is to protect other corporation’s teams from getting their hands on the disks. If a corporation loses all of their disks, then the company is doomed to go bankrupt.
But the members of the teams have never met one another until now. And even then, all they know about each other is the fact that the reason they took up this kind of job is for the big paycheck. But the reason why they need the money is unknown. Everything else is kept in the dark. How can the executives expect four complete strangers who are tossed together into a group to work as a team to protect a few minidisks that are the basis of their very lives?
It’s the year 2007.
And once the games begin, there’s no turning back.

[ Plot ]
And in that sound, everything will change
And in that sound, everything will change

- Three out of many high-power corporations/organizations currently exist in Tokyo –Arashi Finance, Codeblack Overseas Trades, and the Tokyo Police Department.
Arashi Finance is one of the primary financial companies existing in Tokyo. Many local families of Tokyo use Arashi to cover their financial problems. Nakajo (last name) Nobuto (first name) is the head of Arashi Finance and has lately gotten bored with just the couple billion dollars he receives annually. He wants more than just that. He wants more power and more money. And the only way to obtain that is to make another company go bankrupt and then take over the withering company. To achieve this goal, he hired four men to take part in the corporate games that have become exceedingly popular among bored executives in high-power corporations. Nakajo has been accused of scamming his clients of their money in the past, but there had never been any proof or evidence that his company has done anything wrong.
Codeblack Overseas Trades is a highly profitable trading company that sells imported goods from other countries like America, Brazil, Britain, France, Kenya, Italy, China, and many more. Their headquarters is located in San Francisco, California, United States, but they have one of their many office buildings in downtown Tokyo headed by Adrian (first name) Clay (last name), a native of the United States. The materials that they sell to consumers are always top notch and well received by the Japanese, who are always willing to try out exotic products, goods, or food. Business has been booming for several decades, but there has been a rumor that Codeblack has also been smuggling drugs into the country. However, because this is only a rumor, there is no hardcore evidence to put the trading company out of business. So Codeblack is allowed to merrily keep making money with their hired team of four men to watch over their profits and business information. And like any other growing company, Codeblack is looking to expand their business by taking control of other trading companies or highly reputable industries.
A new organization has emerged among the lower ranks of this dangerous company game. No one knows where it emerged from or has any background information regarding the greedy individuals behind this operation, but two things are for certain. The puppeteer behind this new group is extremely young, only about in his early to mid-twenties. And he has some kind of connection to the University of Miyazaki, specifically the university’s medical college. The name of this mastermind is unknown. However, there are rumors that the group of young men he has formed to participate in this executive game goes by the name Kokoro Division. A participant in the Game could attempt to link some of the recent scandalous activity at the University that has made headline news to this suddenly emerging group, but there has been no evidence of connection between the headlines and the Kokoro Division group. But don’t underestimate these new participants in the Game; word has it that this young and brilliant mastermind knows what he’s doing.
Even though it is almost shocking to hear of Tokyo’s Police Department taking a part in such a violent pastime of high-power corporations, the truth is that they have. The Tokyo Police Department had created their own team of four men to help aid them in searching for companies conducting illegal activity and putting the criminals behind bars. The police department is, after all, a company of sorts, just not your typical finance or trading company. And with every company, there are bored and greedy executives. This specific branch of police, through the command of Saitoh (last name) Kazuo (first name), has long suspected Arashi Finance, Codeblack Overseas Trades, and Kokoro Division of criminal activity, but no FBI has been able to uncover evidence of such rumors. If there is no evidence, then there is only one other way to put Arashi, Codeblack, and Kokoro out of business and gain a higher reputation: to take part in The Game. However, there are certain risks as well. If the Toyko Police Department falls into the hands of another profitable industry, then that company will have full control of the legal and illegal world. To compensate for such high stakes, the Police Department has assembled a team of men that is respected by many companies as one of the best teams in The Game.
These four corporations have been eyeing each other greedily, each hoping to take the other three out of the business world and existence. Or maybe the companies aren’t doing it out of greed but more of boredom and need some form of amusement. That fact is uncertain. But is known is that the executives of these four companies are at each other’s throat and will use any means to take the other three down, especially through several entertaining rounds of The Game.
And for every fight, there needs to be officiators to keep these greedy executives in their place. Judges regulate and mandate the rules of the Game. Going by the name Kami, meaning God, these individuals are the referees that overlook each and every fight, make sure that rules (and few that exist) are not broken, and that the winning teams are rewarded handsomely for their victory. Team rankings are constantly being updated by these few people with each and every fight and so is the number of disks each company still has possession of. If a company that has lost all 10 of their disks still refuses to step out of the Game, the Judges personally see to the disbanding of the company’s team and the downfall of the company. The Judges are not, however, allowed to intervene in any team fights unless a rule has been broken or the battle has gotten out of control. Working in pairs, their job is only to just watch over the fights. They are some of the best players in the Game, infamous for their legendary abilities. Their word is law. Who controls these Judges or the entirety of the Game, though, is unknown though.
You, as the roleplayer, play the part of one of the men who got hired by one of the four companies. Your task is simple: protect the minidisks, take out the other teams, and listen to your boss' orders. Or maybe you are an old-timer to this deadly nightlife and have graced death's kiss more than once before. If such a person, they take up the position of a Judge, to watch over the details of this brutal high-paying living. It doesn't matter who you are. You’ve never worked with any of your other team members before. The roleplay begins after you've been hired by your respective company, but you haven't met any of your team members yet and you have never participated in a round of The Game before. You are scheduled to meet the members of your team some time by the end of the week. It's currently a Sunday evening, 10pm in Tokyo, Japan.
You’ve never been a pawn on a chess board played by bored executives of high-power corporations. And what’s more is that there is nothing to restrict you from contacting members of the other teams if a Game isn’t in session. You can even become friends with the other side, but when the game starts, friends become enemies. And you’re only a pawn on the vast board of chess. Your movements are controlled by the executive who hired you. But can the possibility of falling in love also be controlled by the chess player?

[ The Game ]
Like a dozen paper cuts that only I can trace
Like a dozen paper cuts that only I can trace

- Here is how The Game works:
One of the members of the team will be mailed a minidisk as a challenge of the upcoming battle for the team. Each minidisk has specific information within it listing the date, time, location, and a background of the opposing team. (I will PM you when you are challenged to a battle with all of the above information.) Each member of the team is to listen to the minidisk, memorize the information, and then wipe the disk clean of all info.
There are two places where a battle can take place: home or away. Home is your team’s home base which is an abandoned building. The advantage to playing The Game at home is that you are familiar with the area and know all of the entrances and exits. It’s your home front, you get control and can rig it however you want. The disadvantage is that the home team is the one holding onto one of their company’s minidisks. One member of the team has to hold onto the disk at all times while the other three are allowed to act as the offense and defense. But the home team is the main target and will suffer the consequences if their disk is taken by the opposing team.
An away location is mainly playing The Game on your opponent’s home ground. The advantage is that the away/visiting team carries no disk and their only objective is to take the home team’s minidisk. This allows for elaborate strategic planning on how to ambush the home team and allows the team members to not worry about protecting anything – just taking. The disadvantage is that the area is unfamiliar ground. While the away team is permitted to study a blue print of their opponent’s home building before the fight, reality is different from the one sketched on paper.
On the day of the battle, the away team will arrive on the home team’s location at the specified time and the Game will commence as a four-on-four fight. The away team needs to snatch the home team’s disk and get away all within a restrictive time limit. If the away team fails to take the disk within the time limit, then the game ends with the home team as the victor. The fight is not allowed to continue after the time limit. But within the time limit, anything is allowed. The away team needs to fight its way past three members of the home team and find the fourth person holding onto the disk.
There are no rules prohibiting the use of weapons or the killing of an opposing team member.
Judges regulate all fights simply as overseers.
The team that is successful gets paid a couple million dollars by their employer and gets to go home victorious. The losing team is then left to lick its wounds and wait for the next fight to get revenge. Each corporation has a total of 10 minidisks, each holding valuable company information. The company that loses all 10 minidisks in the fights will immediately go bankrupt.
Think the stakes are too high? A few million dollars per fight is worth risking your life for playing The Game.
The Rules of The Game
[x] Each corporation has 10 disks. If the corporation loses all 10 disks, then the corporation is finished and the Game team is disbanded.
[x]Challenges are made by the executives of the companies. Invitations regarding the challenge are sent to one of the team members of each team by the corporation executive.
[x] All information in the minidisk that is sent as the challenging invitation needs to be wiped clean after it is listened to by all the team members.
[x] There is one home team and one away team during each fight. Outside teams are prohibited from aiding the teams in fight.
[x] Time limit for each fight is 2 hours.
[x] One member of the home team must be holding onto the disk at stake for the duration of the fight. They are not prohibited from participating in the fighting though.
[x] Fights will not be counted if there is no invitation or challenge to back it up.
[x] Two judges will regulate every fight. They are not allowed to intervene in the fights and are only there to enforce the rules. If any rules are broken or if the fight gets out of hand, then they have ever right to take reasonable steps to avoid any further chaos. Their word is law.

[ FAQs ]
Whatever you say, you know it's over
Whatever you say, you know it's over
- >Do team members have any information allowing them to contact each other?
Yes they do. Upon employment, each team member is told the names of his fellow team members. Just a name - first and last. Team members aren't given anything else but that, so they are required to go off in search of their team members on their own.
>What is the current day and time of the RP?
The beginning of the RP starts off on a Sunday evening at 10pm in downtown Toyko.
>Is there a specified time or day when the members of the team are supposed to meet?
Nope. Just whenever your characters decide to bump heads, that's when the team members meet. There isn't a pre-set up time or day for all that.
>Are the team names in English or Japanese?
Japanese.
>Do the Judges know the Player's name and/or face?
No, Judges aren't given that information. The only times Judges know the names and faces of the Players are when the Judges are assigned to referee a fight; then they will be given a disk full of information on each team and the players on the team. But, even though Judges don't have access to this outside of a fight, they can still get information off of a database that has information on all participating members of The Game.
>Are Judges partnered randomly for refereeing fights, or are there teams set up?
Two Judges will be randomly picked to oversee each fight.
Do the Judges know each other by face and/or name?
Yes.
