Something about this shop makes me really depressed. I don't know what. It may be other things. I'm going on hiatus... AGAIN. o_o I do have other shops, but they don't depress me. <_< Dunno why. I'll be back as soon as I'm able to work here again.

8-25-04: Woo! finally updated Allie and released the twins. Y'know what that means? Jadaria has finally found some semblance of artistic ability again, and thus is working... ninja Growing may be occuring for other Songlings, and... I may have an auction soon. After the raffle's over! Which I may start early. Meh. GO BUY! scream ^_^

Songlings
A little note Jadaria left on the fridge...
This is the Realm of Song. We'll start with a basic explanation.
The Realm of Song is where Songlings exist naturally, obviously. It is a parallel universe of sorts in some aspects, but much different in others. Firstly, it is mostly wilderness and half-formed shapes of buildings that actually exist. Some buildings that have a high Songling activity, such as the Songling HQ, carry over and are solid in the Realm. Most, however, do not. This leads to a vast amount of warped "ruins" that many sorrowful, longing, or destructive Songlings call home. Ever wonder why the dankest parts of cities seem to inspire musicians to rock and such stuff? It's the inspiration of the Songlings' children (the Muselings) that journey over to the "real" world seeking to tranform into Songlings. More on this later.
Areas that are not populated by humans - wilderness or simply rolling acres that belong to a farm or some mansion's grounds - are similar, though they vary in appearance. Songlings tend to gather together, though often similar types gather with others like themselves. This is why a quiet pond may instill a sense of calm, but the forest less than a mile away inspires great joy. However, certain humans do respond differently than others...
But I digress. The areas are warped by the frequency of the types that journey there. A well travelled area with no real concentration will appear almost like our world, but an area with an abundance of sorrowful Songlings will appear a dark, twisted version of itself, while an area inhabited by joyful Songlings will seem almost drug induced to a human.
The area around the Songling's HQ is relatively normal.
"Wild" or natural, untouched Songlings generally act only on their song's nature. Those that have been exposed to humans tend to stray a bit from their 'instincts' because they have been raised that way.
Songlings are able to shift from realm to realm as they choose, though they have little want to naturally. Young Songlings have hardly any control over this, and find it difficult to change. However, as they age, they master the skill quite readily. They may bring humans along with them, but often the humans find it quite unsettling.
On the Muselings note, Muselings are the offspring of two Songlings. Often the Songlings and similar, and thus birth a new consciousness close to their own nature. However, if an odd (different) pair of Songlings mix, odd creatures result... And then there are the random mutations, due to their magical nature. When Muselings are born, they are fully conscious as adults. However, they are different than Songlings in that they are not tied to a human world creation. Ever wonder why different things inspire different people? These are Muselings. Everything stems from music - even other forms of art. Not every Museling will become a Songling; some become Artlings or Writlings. However... those are a breed apart, and may or may not be discussed later.
A Museling that is tied to a song immediately is reborn. He or she is trapped into what we refer to as an 'egg' to undergo the change. When born again, the new Songling is little more than an infant (though they are fully capable of moving around and at least understanding language, though some do not speak). Thus, its life begins anew as what it wished.
And I think that about covers it... O_o I think I'll post this note in the human world, as well. ^_^
