Witch Brandy


I have some very sad news for Cafe Soleil. Our beloved Remy (Michel Remy Saint) was in serious car accident and she has broken her wrist badly and is unable to keep drawing for the shop. After talking to her and Noelle, we have decided to close the shop. She was, thankfully, able to finish the flat sale curses before her accident, and Noelle was able to cert them. Thank you so much to those who lurked and stalked this thread in its short lifespan. Maybe in the future, Cafe Soleil can reopen its doors.

We're very very sorry. If you have any questions, please PM me, Witch Brandy. I will be calling Remy to find out the password to her mule so we can update the front page and announce the closing there.

October 31. The interest thread officially closes and Cafe Soleil's main
thread and guild undergo construction. Mules are made, and flatsale
children are started!
November 05. The thread finishes construction and the Cafe Soleil has
its Grand Opening Celebration! Witch Brandy seems to be having
a lot of fun.

Once upon a time... the magical Witch Brandy watched upon children
everywhere. Children were too busy to play with the witch, and she
grew bored with their routine. Witch Brandy was quite fond of sweets,
and the only way to quell her temper was to offer one to her. Her
trickster spirit got the best of her, though. She was drawn to a small
shop of sweets, Cafe Soleil, that opened up downtown. Its windows of
fresh baked goods fascinated her. She cursed the cakes for sheer joy.
The first and second people to fall prey to her were the shop's chef
and waitress. The first time they got splashed with water, an amazing
thing happened! Their curses reacted! Noelle rose into the air, clumsy
and flailing. Michel, mostly called Remy by Noelle, suddenly sprouted
a pair of cat ears and a tail and went running out of the room. Witch
Brandy howled with amusement, although neither could see her. The
cat ears Remy had could hear her speaking about how silly they look-
ed to her.

The shop never closed, of course, and Witch Brandy still has fun here
and there, cursing whichever cakes she pleases. You never know what
poor customer might grab one! Noelle took it upon herself to seek out
those who have fallen under Brandy's curse, and she offers them a
chance to work at the cafe until the curse can be removed. The Witch
Brandy never seems to offer the same curse twice, and one can never
tell which cakes and candies are cursed until they are splashed with
their first dose of water after eating it.

Cafe Soleil is a one story corner bakery store. Its workers wear a bold contrast
of black pants, skirts, socks, and shoes with a white oxford, sometimes a tie
or ribbon. Occasionally a shiny blue vest over that. Completing the view is a
white apron. The Cafe has a long metallic blue bar with stools lining it. There
is a see through cooled case with sweets inside it on decorated display. Behind
the bar are several fridges and ice cream makers. There is a preparation room
behind the bar and swinging door. There are small booths that can hold four
people each with a mauve upholstery. A cute little banner sign hangs just outside
the window. A hanging plant sits next to the door, and an 'A' shaped sign is set
up on the sidewalk listing today's specialities.

Rule I. Be nice. You don't get presents from Santa if you are bad.
Fighting and whining in the shop will not get you sweets, either!

Rule II. No stealing. Children should know by now that stealing
is a very bad thing. You are automatically blacklisted if you steal
from our shop. We work very hard to make this fun and to draw
all the characters and create all the graphics.

Rule III. First contact. If you have a problem with anything in
the shop, go to Michel or Noelle first. If you have questions,
they will answer them. That is their purpose. Michel and Noelle
know everything about this shop and how it is run. Their word is
final. It can only be overrun by Witch Brandy.

Rule IV. Godmodding. You do not run another person's character
without permission.

Rule V. Changes. This shop can be changed at any time. This includes,
but is not limited to: the rules, the art, the certs, the guild,
the owners! Please understand that things happen and people
have real lives, and most of the time they have other shops
to work for as well. Do not take foregranted that they are
working hard, for free, to do something for you.

Rule VI. Terms. This is a no brainer. Follow GAIA ONLINE'S TOS. If you
have not read them, then you should not be on this site.

How many cursed ones can I have?
A maximum of five. Twins count as two seperate curses.
We realize people that like to roleplay in a specific store
might like to have multiple characters.

What are the requirements?
Please write at least one roleplay entry per month unless
you are having a serious life issue. If you contact one of
the owners, I'm sure they will understand. You must have
at least one roleplay entry [ journal , roleplay with someone ,
event ] in your guild journal each month. If not, you will
get a warning. The staff will try as hard as possible to
create events to encourage participation.

How many stages do they have?
Four maximum stages. Three normal stages.

Stage I. A sweet item fresh from the cafe oven. Chef Michel
has been hard at work preparing it.

Stage II. Your sweet item sparks. The Witch Brandy has a
sweet tooth, so she only curses sweet things. The cake might glow
or spark. This is a sure sign that someone will come eat it soon!

Stage III. The normal ending stage to your cursed child.
This is the child itself with curse.

Stage IV. The Witch Brandy has some special tricks up her
sleeve for those who are extra active in the Cafe.


How much do they cost? How do I get one?
The flatsale rate is 10k. Each cake is completely unique.
Flatsales, auctions, raffles, contests, and bribes are the easiest way
to get one.

Are there customs?
There are semi-customs by auction only.
