Inu-neko live in a far off land much like our own, but still in it's purest form; rolling grassy meadows, tall forests, and crystal clear water. Quite a paradise indeed. But what's a paradise with no one to enjoy it? Alas, the inu-neko's numbers have been decreasing over time, they need interaction to help them mature, but for some reason the wild inu-neko have trouble doing it on their own. The squishums have acted as special guardians to some in the wild aiding their recovery, but there's only so much they can do. This is where you come in. As the inu-neko's new owners, you can help them socialize with others, greatly speeding up their growth.

Inu-neko are generally omnivores. They do prey on both small and fairly large animals or fish if they can find them, but they are just as content in eating fruits, nuts, and other plantation.

There are three main types of inu-neko known so far, the most common of the three is the normal type. They don't have any special features about them, but they do have an extra stage of maturity, the "elder" stage.

The angelic and demonic inu-neko do not have an elder stage because they are somewhat immortal. Being angelic or demonic has nothing to do with their personalities or status, just merely a discription of their appearance and abilities.

This is a squishum. They act as guardians to the wild inu-neko, and sometimes can become guardians to the tame. They do help with the inu-neko's growth, but not nearly as much as when an owner is Rping with them. (An inu-neko without a squishum will not mature at all when left alone, but with one will mature very slowly.)

The squishums are limited, an inu-neko can only be given one when they are found. Squishums tend to pop up when inu-neko are socializing (usually the larger the group, the more appear) or when there are new arrivals.

Squishums are generally earthy tones on their own, but when they have found an inu-neko to guard, they change colour (and form in the case of angelics and demonics) to match, kinda like a chameleon. Although they look like octopus, they don't need water to survive. They float around in the air always followning closely behind their inu-neko.

About Growth
The amount of interaction it takes for your inu-neko to mature increases from stage to stage. An indication will be shown beside your pet in the owner's list. For a normal inu-neko to grow from "mature" to "elder" is especially great. The actual amount is unknown in this case, so no indication can be given.

Please read the whole of the first page before trying to purchase an inu-neko. If you ask a question that is already in the FAQ or is answered somewhere on the first page, I will just ignore you.
Do NOT PM me about availables or prices. Prices are given with the information when something is available, and if you wish to know when something is available then you can join the mailing list (add "inu-neko-mule" to your friendslist)
Do NOT steal any inu-neko art, or anyones already owned pets!
Do NOT beg me for anything, or hound me about when squishums will arrive. They arrive when they arrive, and bugging me will slow the process.
Do NOT edit your posts in any sales. Myself and other anxious owners will be watching closely. If you're caught you do not get an inu-neko or squishum until the next sale.
If you don't have to gold the pay for something, then don't ask It waists my time and yours.

Are inu-neko RP required?
Well technically no, you can own one without being in the thread RPing all the time. But, if you want it to grow, then yes it is required. Once you're happy with it's maturity and such, you don't have to continue to RP, but it would be nice if you stuck around.

How does the maturity point system work?
For everyday that you RP with your inu-neko you get a maturity point. I don't mean just one post of you talking to it and having it smile back at you, I mean real RPing with other inu-neko having them interacting and such. If you do happen to be alone in the thread I will accept you interacting with them, but not just talking like I said.

When can my inu-neko breed?
When it is in it's adult or mature stage your inu-neko can breed. See the breeding post for more information.

Can my inu-neko be gay?
Yes, if it so chooses. But remember, you need a male and a female inu-neko to have pups. I'm not a magical God y'know. By all means they can adopt.

Does that mean two people can co-own an inu-neko?
Yup, just let me know this is your decision so I can put both your names as owners.

Am I aloud to have more than one inu-neko?
Yes of course you can, but you can only snag one at a time, therefore you can only buy one per flatsale and have the highest bid on only one in the auction.

Can I breed two inu-neko that I own?

I don't have time to be on gaia anymore to RP with my inu-neko. Can I sell it to someone?
No! You are not allowed to make a profit off my hard work. You can however give it away to a friend (FOR FREE!) as long as you let me know so I can change the owner's name. If I find you sold your inu-neko, you will be banned.

Can I be a guest colourist?
If I am looking for guest colourists, or just a new colourist in general, there will be some kind of an announcement given.

Can I just colour one of your lovely line arts for fun then?
No. That's just asking for you to steal my art.

Can you make me a special inu-neko?
Yes I can, but for a larger fee. See the customs post for details.

Will it bug you if I give you cool suggestions for themes or wearable items?
No, suggestions are always welcome. I aim to please. Just don't make every other post a suggestion.

Any available inu-neko or squishums will be posted here. Inu-neko are sold in either flatsales, auctions, raffles, or occasionally contests. Much notice will be given prior to any sales. Squishums, however, may not have much notice due to their spontaneous arrivals. When squishums are found they will be collected together and sold separately. If a good number of squishums arrive, they will usually be sold in a flatsale, but if only a few are available, they will be auctioned off in a short period of time.

Flatsale

Everyone should know how a flatsale works. When there are available inu-neko, they are given to the first person who claims it. Don't claim one if you don't have the gold to pay for it. I do not accept pet trades or bribes for flatsales. Once you claim it, please send the trade right away. If you don't send the trade within a reasonable amount of time, I'll re-sell it to someone else.

Whenever there are special themes of inu-neko, they won't be sold in a flatsale, unless there are lots of them.

Auctions

Auctions will be held in a separate thread linked from this post and at the top of the page. They will last atleast a day. Again, if you don't have the gold you are offering, then don't bid. If you are the highest bidder but cannot give me the gold by the end of the auction, I will give it to the next highest bidder. No bribes or pet trades for auctions either.

If any bids are placed within the last 10 minutes of the auction, an extra 10 minutes will be added to prevent any cheating last second bidders.

Raffles & Contests

Rules and information about upcoming raffles or contests will be given when one is available. They will be held in a separate thread linked from here and the top of the page.

The inu-neko live in a beautiful area by the fresh water lake surrounded by white sandy beaches, vast feilds and meadows, and large wooded areas. Among the wooded areas are scattered caves and holes in the roots of large trees where the inu-neko sleep for the night. Off in the distance to the north are snow capped mountains where only the bravest venture.

SPRING

It rarely gets too cold in the winter here in Inu-neko Paradise. The temperature is just low enough to keep a soft blanket of snow over the trees and feilds, as well as a layer of ice covering the shallows of the lake. But be careful when letting your inu-neko play on the ice, it gets thinner the farther out they go.
Light snow falls often occur, nothing too drastic...but it has been known to blizzard from time to time, making it very difficult for the inu-neko to see where they're going. I hope we don't lose any of you.

Every now and then between one and three breeding nests will open for any pair of inu-neko who wish to have pups. When this happens, nests are given purely on a first come first serve basis. Female inu-neko can have up to 6 pups at a time, all of them having similarities to either or both of the parents. Any pair of male and female inu-neko can breed together, however there are no half-breeds known so far...who knows, maybe one day (dun dun dun)

Keep in mind when breeding your inu-neko, normal types can only breed 3 times in their life, angelic and demonic types twice. So pick your partners wisely. Also, your inu-neko can only breed in their adult and mature stages, pups and elders cannot.

There are to be no blood related breeding, that's incest, and disgusting, and illegal.....and disgusting, and would probably turn the pups all wonky anyways. Two inu-neko from the same owner cannot breed together either.

How it works

Breeding your inu-neko does have a fee of 4k, (split in any way between the two owners) but then once the pups arrive, you have the chance to make that gold back. Out of all the new pups, each owner is aloud to keep one for themselves (or give to a friend) if they choose. The rest of the pups can be sold in any way through the shop only. Each owner will get 20% of the gold for each pup sold. So, for example, if each pup is auctioned for atleast 5k each, and you have atleast 4 pups (2 of them taken by each owner) you'll break even and have yourself a free pup. Not too shabby eh?

Every now and then I'll have time to do a couple custom ordered inu-neko. They can be of whatever you want, with the price varying of course. The more specific you are about details, the more the inu-neko will look the way you want it to; references are a good idea if you can find them 3nodding

Basic Custom (2 or 3 different colours and a simple design) - 30k
Complex Custom (more than 3 colours and designs) - 50k
Total Custom (whatever your heart desires) - 75k

*there are no cosplay customs. if you want a chance to get a cosplay inu-neko, you can make a suggestion for a cosplay edition.
