The Migrataals lived in a land torn apart by war. The creatures of the night warred against the Migrataals and it appeared they were losing. The number of Migrataals was declining rapidly but the creatures of the night had weapons and magic far greater than the limited powers that the Migrataals possessed. And it seemed there was no way out; they were too far into the war for peace to be an option. One side was going to win, and there would be none of the other side left. And the Migratalls knew which side that would be.

One day a young Migrataal named Titus was collecting food from the lake. It was the only known lake in the Migrataals side and they were running out of food. Titus, not finding anything, turned away angry and was about to walk back to the mountain his family lived on when he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. Curiously, he walked closer. It was a glowing ring suspended in mid-air and he could see something through it. It wasn't the mountainous landscape that was behind the ring however, it was something else. A large grassy field surrounded by dark forests and in the middle of the field was a single mountain. Dropping everything he had been carrying, he walked closer, his talons clacking on the rocks beneath his feet. And before he knew what he was doing, he had stepped through the ring.

He found himself in the large grassy field that he had seen. In his world, the patches of grass were few and far between and those that they had weren't big at all.

Suddenly, something dawned on Titus. Maybe the Migrataals could... live there? Providing the creatures of the night never found out, they would be safe. He ran back to his mountain and alerted his father, and soon all the remaining Migrataals were standing around the strange glowing ring in the air. And then they noticed - it was growing smaller by the minute. Soon they wouldn't be able to fit through. But what if they got trapped in that land and it was worse than their own?

Eventually they reached a unanimous decision - to go through and see what was on the other side. And so they did, running off across the grassy expanse towards the mountain, which was to be their new home.

However, the creatures of the night had their spies and they soon found out of the Migrataal's plan. They raced to the 'portal' as they called it and began running through. One, two, three... and no more. The fourth ran at the portal and then it was gone. Frustrated, the creatures of the night cast spell after spell at the space where the portal had been, but it caused only to hit the mountain behind it.

The three creatures of the night hissed and ran off into the dark woods, watched as the Migrataals bounded towards the mountain.

Egg stage - At this stage your Migrataal won't really do much - except rely on the older Migrataals to look after it, keep it warm, and stop it from getting broken. Strangely enough, the colour of the egg reflects the colour that the creature will be once it's hatched, although in a rare case the colours of the fur may change as the Migrataal grows older. Eggs won't necessarily be looked after by their parents, as in some cases the parents are unknown.

Pup stage - In this stage the pup will spend a lot of time with his/her mother and father or the older Migrataals learning about the world, or rather, the mountain and it's surrounding land. They are very curious at this age and tend to wander off, although it's wings aren't fully grown and so they can't go far.

Adult stage - The Migrataal has now grown its wings and is free to roam around the mountain and the surrounding areas, althought those who roam too far may not come back... It will have to help look after abandoned eggs and pups and search for food to feed the colony of Migrataals. And now the creature can find a mate... and who knows, maybe there'll be the pitter-patter of tiny feet claws soon enough ^.^

[3] You don't need to save your Migrataal to your own server. But, as I host them on imageshack.us, and not Photobucket, you'll need to change your links everytime your creature grows. I'll post them in the pickup in the thread and probably put an announcement in the title so if you subscribe you'll be able to see when your creature has grown (a good excuse to get people to keep coming to the thread XDD).

[4] Don't steal the art. If you steal the art I will... do something bad D: /lame threat

[5] Listen to what I say. Because I am God XD Well, not really.

[6] No flaming in the thread. Take it to PMs if you must argue.

Excuse the map XD

Roleplay with the Migrataals takes place in and around Migrataal Mountain which is where all of the colony lives. The mountain is surrounded by grass and trees and flowers - and surrounding the grass is dark forests where, at night, strange noises come from.

There isn't a guild for roleplay at the moment - however, if the shop goes well, I will save up to buy one, and donations are appreciated towards that ^.^ For the time being, however, you can roleplay in the thread ^.^ You can also keep journals if you'd like - if you want me to set one up for you in the Roleplay sub-sub-forum then I can do that ^.^

Roleplay Rules

[1] Roleplay is not mandatory, however visit the thread at least once every month or your Migrataal will get taken away from you and put up for adoption by someone else. You would then be Blacklisted.

[2] Keep it PG-13 please, remember there are younger children on this site ^.^

[3] If you roleplay, roleplay AS the Migrataals and NOT as someone looking after them. They may be your pet on Gaia, but in roleplay they are definitely not pets xd And for that reason, there are no humans in the roleplay other than for plot purposes, in which case those would be shop NPCs ^.^

[4] No god-moding, powerplaying or anything like that. Basically, that means only roleplay YOUR creature.

[5] Please be literate, and don't do one-liners. Put some though into your roleplaying and if you're stuck, describe what your creature can see, hear, feel, smell, taste, etc.

Flatsale Rules
[1] There will be two different types of flatsale: speed and prompt. Prompt flatsales are usually to get more roleplayers in, which is always nice ^.^ Whereas speed is just to get rid of them as quick as possible to anyone who wants one D: I'll probably start off with speed.

Atop Migrataal Mountain lives an elderly Migrataal selling potions and magical items of all kinds. Once a day she stretches her old wings and flies to the bottom of the mountain and picks the magical fruits from plants she has planted since arriving in this new world. She will then take them back to the top and brew magical potions to sell to the rest of the creatures on the mountain.

This potion, she says, will cause the drinker of the potion to have an extra child at a breeding. A maximum of three to be purchased per breeding or the effects will not be good. (Whichever of the owners buying the potion gets to choose what to do with the egg.)

I designed the creatures and made the banners and the shop.

Ohyeah. And I made the egg stage whee and colored the Migrataals.
