Welcome to my Diamondback Lion Mask quest.

Everyone on Gaia has a dream item. For me, it is a rare fish mask, and none are more beautiful than the Diamondback Lion Mask.

When I first joined Gaia, I was fortunate enough to find the fishing game. It was a lot of fun, way more exciting than spamming the Chatterbox. But the best part of fishing was the fishing community, where I made many wonderful friends. The fishing community is the best one on Gaia.

When I first joined, I realized that a rare fish mask quest relies a lot on the community. While individual questors must be willing to work hard, their masks would never be completed without the assistance of their fellow fishers. So it became a symbol of a dedicated, respected fisher, something I aspired to be.

Over the past year, many things have changed. I won the trophies I wanted to, and completed all of my other quests, and now is the time to begin my final quest on Gaia. It's time to go for the rare fish mask.

So What Are These Diamondback Lions?

"Graceful and elegant, these fish possess diamond sharp fins that can cut through other fish as they swim past them... kinda like a ninja... in like... say... an anime... where they run past each other and like... the other dude... like... slides apart or somethin... you know... elegant-like ... unlike this description."

Fish Names: Devil Winged Angil, Ariela Steadfast, Transcendent, Gaidin, Annie Laurie, Cronos99, Satans_Valentine, Max Ison, S.A.R.I.T.A, and PrettyDragon.

Fish #1: Devil Winged Angil. Funny, friendly, a bit insane. A wonderful friend that makes Gaia a lot more fun.

Fish #2: Ariela Steadfast. Though she's often regarded as the sweet, mother of the group, she's really a trouble-maker that always seems to make the days that much more interesting.

Fish #3: Transcendent. A great person who will go out of his way for his friends. He's smart, funny, and yet somehow single...ladies, what is wrong with you? rofl

Fish #4: Gaidin. If there was a single person who truly represented all that was great about the fishing community, it'd have to be Gaidin. An accomplished fisher, and an even better person.

Fish #5: Annie Laurie. Shy at first, but a warm and friendly person once you get to know her. I'm glad to have her as a friend.

Fish #6: Cronos99. Does this guy have any enemies? He's well-known and well-respected by all who have had the pleasure to meet him. One of the nicest people on Gaia.

Fish #7: Satans_Valentine. She's more commonly-known as that "crazy woman in the MP with a kajillion tickets." whee She's also a very cool, funny friend.

Fish #8: Max Ison. My first friend from outside of the fishing community. Max is an exchanger with a conscience, a rarity in today's greedy Gaian world. He's also very cool.

Fish #9: S.A.R.I.T.A. Another friend from the Exchange. S.A.R.I.T.A. is a real sweetheart, very friendly, and she likes to help others. She's also a fisher who got into exchanging.

Fish #10: PrettyDragon. She's friendly and kind and gets along with everyone. She's always there to support others and offer up a smile.

I have gone back and forth on this. On one hand, I feel I will have the funds to do this quest on my own. On the other, I am blessed to have a ton of wonderful friends who love to help others. I don't want to shut those people out, but I don't want them to send me stuff they could use on their own quests.

So what I've decided upon is this: if you would like to donate to my quest, please donate no more than 1K in pure. I will take all the donations and use them to help buy my last fish, to complete the mask. I think that's a good compromise.

Update: I had to turn down several large donations from my ridiculously generous friends. In the end, it didn't matter. But I wanted to thank you all. Your generosity always amazes me.

The dream avi must have the diamondback lionfish mask. It can also include the following:

- baby seal slippers
- angelic pendant
- kitsune mask
- zony mp3 player
- winged anklets
- any 2005/2006 donation item
- any commons
- any fish/junk items
- up to 100K in event items.

I'll build the winning entry once the contest is complete. I'll pick the top 5 or 10 entries, and then hold a vote. The winning entry will win a mochi puppy.
