Hello, Gaia.
I've been around since November of 2004. I've seen a lot of changes take place on Gaia.
This one, however, in particular, really has me going.
All of a sudden, we're providing new users with an inventory-load full of items, including a fishing rod and house items?


..Really, what's with that?

What did you start out your time on Gaia with?

A peasant dress? A peasant shirt and pants?

I say we allow new users to help experience all that Gaia has to offer without being called "n00b", or "nub". If you remember starting out years ago like me, you'll remember things like, "n00b slaughter houses", "hunt and kill newbs" and "sexy catgirl hentai guilds", though that last one has nothing to do with aything I'm saying.

New, better items would help users get throught the hardships of being a new user. Not anything worth so much it's ruin the economy, but perhaps starter exclusive items like new shirts, better shoes and faux wings? New users have a hard time adjusting.


We can help.

What about us?

We only got a peasnat dress when we started and all of a sudden the newbs get things us oldbies back then could never get for a long time.

I say, they should be able to feel the hardships we went through and the happiness of getting a nice outfit.

Of course, I joined in April '03, and shortly thereafter people were bemoaning the sudden influx of newbies. Whiny little bastards who can't spell, and feel entitled to rare items.

Oh, and then after a while Gambino Island popped into existence, and we could buy stuff in a SECOND store. And trade items with other users! Wow!

And then there was an easter event, and that was interesting. All them floating eggs that let you sell slippers to the store for ten gold. And then if you were lucky, you could get one of each kind. And then people bought and sold them for like 100 gold after the event. Thus was born the "economy"!

Then Gaia went to Hell in a handbasket. Hell hell hell.

Of course, there was a "Ball" that created the earliest in-demand items even before I joined, and rare items were already around by then, too. Bouncy trunks never really ate into that market very far.

You're right. All these other users are complaining about other people being pampered, and older people didn't even get items! They don't realize they're being hypocritical.

It is nice to give more. And I don't see why people whine about making them wear peasant clothing. It's not like the starter set is that great anyways. And it's not like in a day the people who had to wear the peasant clothing couldnt get better clothing because I could when I started.
