El fuego sobre el agua

Nadie le dijo que la puerta estaba cerrada, tampoco le importo, la toco con sus manos y le prendió fuego.
El viento soplaba suave, su sombra se mecía en silencio, estar solo o no, para él no era un problema.
Un as de luz se estampó en el suelo. Su cola lo borró poco a poco; A veces le gustaba hacer estas cosas con sigilo, aunque para la gente que lo conocíamos, era parsimonia.
Las cosas que pasaron en el trayecto hacia habitación son un misterio; su nacimiento también. Quizás, sólo quizás, fue creado desde la gentil pluma de algún dibujante travieso. Pero nunca hemos de saber.
Nadie sabía qué venía ha hacer aquí, de todos modos lo esperé: Subí una pierna sobre la otra y me acomodé aún más en mi sillón de cuero, el piso seguía mojado. Mi copa estaba vacía, estaba nerviosa: desde la última vez que lo vi, habían pasado muchos años, tan sólo su cara había quedado en mi recuerdo.
Nada había cambiado, el lago seguía en el mismo lugar de siempre, todos los veranos iba a parar a esa zona, debía haber tenido unos quince años, a duras penas era considerada una mujer, llevaba mi pelo suelto: me gustaba usar el reflejo del agua para arreglarlo.
Él se acercó hacia mí por la espalda y yo no me di cuenta. Tampoco supe, cuando se escondió detrás de los pinos, gigantescos y solitarios; Ambos guardamos silencio. Nos gustaba sentir la presencia del otro, sin que nadie se diera cuenta, era un decir que nos interesábamos el uno del otro sin reconocerlo.
Nos miramos de reojo y lo invité a acercarse, en un principio él tuvo miedo. Me arreglé mi traje y me acerqué yo, pero tampoco tuve mucha suerte, el se alejó. Mis pasos dejaban charcos de agua, cada huella mía dejaba un rastro indeleble de que yo había estado allí: al parecer eso lo tranquilizó mucho.
Mostró su figura de niño al poco tiempo, de un niño tranquilo, casi normal, así como yo. Esa vez sólo la vista había quedado en el lugar, clavada en la idea de que ese niño era un dragón, que tenía vergüenza, que me miraba con desconcierto, que no entendía que estaba haciendo yo ahí.
No fue capaz de regalarme ninguna palabra.
Miré el reloj, supe que eran las ocho. Nada interesante había pasado en la vida una terrateniente como yo, la gente sólo se acercaba a mi cuando habían problemas: cuando hacía falta lluvia o cuando alguien los había estafado.
Desde la ultima (y única vez que lo vi) yo había cambiado mucho, ahora estaba mas vieja, vivía sola, vivía en silencio.
Los pasos se fueron acercado lentamente, las puertas se fueron abriendo una a una, pero nadie llegaba aún. Me inquieté. Rogué a cualquier cosa de que me reconociera: hace tiempo que yo no podía hacerlo.
Con esfuerzo abrió la última puerta, al frente estaba yo. Nos quedamos congelados, mirándonos.
Seguía siendo un niño pequeño. Bajo y de ojos tristes, me regalo una sonrisa. “hacía tiempo que te esperé, pero tu no llegaste” me dijo. “Es que crecí”.
El me tomó la mano, y me llevó a la ventana, un pequeño piso estaba junto a ella, lo recuerdo bien, porque el se subió. Ahora que estaba a mi altura, logró llegas a mis ojos. ” Me llamo Ethos” y me abrazó, me abrazó tan fuerte que llovió sobre mis tierras.
Nos separamos, yo me fui, me fui Quinientos años. Esperando que esta vez me esperara él. Ese niño silencioso que con cautela se acercó a mi regazo y me dijo “ te amo”, esperando que lo imposible alguna vez, volviera a ser posible: la espera había terminado.
