A little over three years ago, an elven woman was brought to Gaia by a means that she was unable to fully fathom. She searched for purpose behind this occurrence, and during that process began to have disturbing dreams of a sacrificial ritual, from the victim's perspective. The fact that she was dreaming at all was alarming to her, as she normally fell into a meditative state for her rest, in which she reviewed the events of her life span. Yet now she slept, and the nightmares kept coming, with more clarity each night they came. After several days had passed, they began to filter into her daily thoughts, sparking scenes from the dreams even as she tried to push them away. She could not. In the end, she chose the opposite path, and embraced her nightmares. In doing so she found the truth of them, the link that a lonely angelic being was trying to form from deep within the darkness of Limbo. Through the grace of Airi, the first Fa'e of the Fa'e HQ, that very angel was released from the bindings of the dark and handed as a bundled baby into the arms of the grateful elven woman. She has loved her as a daughter ever since.

That baby was me. My mother and I have been through much together, some which I wish could have been avoided. I have nearly faded twice from this world. The first time she found me and brought me back. The second, she and a half of my family were held in a magical status and could do nothing. I chose to bring them back myself, as at the time I thought I had nothing else left. My Heavenly Father showed me how wrong I was when he gave me back my life, and took away my ritual scars. I still have not fully forgiven mother's goddess for allowing her to be taken from me for so long, but I cannot deny her existence. The oval gem upon my brow is proof enough, but the empathic link it provides between my Guardian and myself seals it.

I am a mother now, to a beautiful boy I have named Sei. Lord, please forgive me for having indulged in my sorrow for so long as to not visit my dear child. I will not allow my lack of involvement to continue any longer. Speaking of which, I wonder if my old friends remember me still... They live on within my heart as long as it beats. I shall have to find out.

Fa'e Appearance:
Shina is quite pale despite her being out in the sun often for her vigorous combat and survival exercises, both of which have hardened her muscles as well as her resolve. Her once long white-silver hair has been cut short in the front and sides and layered to frame her face when not swept back with a headband. She usually keeps the rest in a thick single braid that reaches her waist, which is then weighted on the end by her sapphire star, a gift from Rayne Winner. Her new blue sapphire oval forehead gem always seems to glow slightly from within, as if it contains a small galaxy of stars in a midnight sky. Her ears have gained a graceful upsweep, ending in sleek tips much like those of her Guardian. Shina's dark blue rose mark remains just below her left cheekbone, gliding down to her jawline. Wide crystal blue eyes ringed by a deeper blue around the pupil and iris have gained a slight tilt at their far corners, yet another hint of the presumably elven genetics that are creeping into her features. Powerful and majestic wings, with feathers whose coloring resemble those of a snow owl, extend from between Shina's shoulder blades. Her wings are often her refuge, taking her far from civilization where she can calm her mind and comfort her soul while in silent prayer. One of her newer markings is the filled outline of a dark blue rose that slants from her right side across her abdomen. This is one of the three unusual alterations that occurred upon her second rebirth. The others are her forehead gem and a dark blue pattern that swirls around her left wrist and forearm that frames a star. She believes that the latter is her god's way of approving of her and Hoshi being together, and she just might be right. The top of her right hand still is marked by Silver's rune, it being something that serves as a reminder of Shina's past connection to the faltering wolf Fa'e.
Polyjuiced Appearance:
Shina's only concern for when she has to go to certain places, or wear unusual outfits, is her wings. People seem to notice them more than any of her other features, so a polyjuice potion is usually the safest way to keep them under wraps for a time.
Treasured Jewelry:
Shina has a small collection of jewelry that she's gained over the years, each piece a gift from a friend or relative. She tries to wear as much of this collection as she can, but sometimes her outfits deem such either impossible or tacky. One of these is a seemingly delicate silver chain that Shina calls her 'scrapbook'. Her engraved silver locket that was a gift from Eirnae and Alimus on her first birthday, a silver star pendant from Lenore that links her to Hoshi, an aquarius charm from Krista, and the sapphire pendant Anen gave her are all on this chain. She always wears her charm bracelet that represents her connection to her blood sisters around her right wrist; the precious bracelet that her son, Sei, sent her has been worn as either an anklet for her left ankle or around her right wrist with her other bracelet; Shina's silver ring set with a sapphire stone that she calls Af'ihel has yet to leave the ring finger of her right hand; and she keeps the prayer beads that her sister, Rei, gave her one Easter in either a pocket, purse, or pouch so she has them near her at all times

Shina takes after Eirnae in the respect that she appreciates many styles, and samples them all. However, over the course of her life, Shina has stayed true to a few basic principles. She looks at an outfit and asks herself: Is it comfortable? Is it durable? Oh yes, and let's not forget, has it got room for my wings? Lately she's taken great interest in the leathers that her Aunt Cyoro works with, and is discovering that she likes the smell of them as well as the feel. She's been incorporating bits and pieces of leather garments into her usual wear here and there.

Spending time with her friends and family, praying for the well being of others, perfecting herself through physical and mental training, learning more about her chosen faith, reading, dancing and music, soft surfaces and materials, all living things, and helping others

Emotional and physical pain being done to others, being alone, and feeling helpless

This is my dresser, where I keep all of my clothes. I do have a few favorite outfits out of the many I've scrounged together.

I love the pattern on the brown sweater Eirnae found for me. I've caught some folk staring at it as if lost in the design. My overalls are for when I work in the garden. The last is the one I prefer to wear when going out for fun, though at this point that's more of a wish than an actual activity.

These are some of my favorite things in the world. They have a special place in my heart because of who created or gave them to me. I also have a special place where I keep the larger collection of my favorite things. I'd be glad to show you, if you promise not to tell anyone my secret.

My diary and my bible are kept on their usual shelf on my rolltop desk, though I get them both out often to read or update accordingly. My quill has its own inkwell, and is my preferred method for scribing a letter or writing in my journal.

Lenore made this jewelry box for Mother and Alimus to give to me even before she and Mother knew they would fall in love. I treasure this box and every piece of jewelry I keep inside it. I remove my jewelry and put them inside of this every morning when I go to sleep and lock it, just in case. You can take a peek inside if you like, just let me know when you are done so I can lock it again.

Hoshi gave me this beautiful orb right after we both grew up on that one wonderful night. I keep it as close to my bed as possible so I can stare into it before I go to sleep.

Don't tell anyone but ... I still sleep with my Hoshi doll at night. He helps a little bit, especially now that I haven't seen Hoshi in so very long. When my heart aches so much that it physically hurts, that's when I'll go to my room and snuggle him for a little bit.

This is Jaruil, my wooden quarterstaff. Jaruil means "Noble staff" in my mother's native tongue of elven, and the name simply seemed to fit. Jaruil was masterfully crafted, albeit simple in design, and I often utilize it during combat practice.

Ansr'athali was named before she came to me, an acquisition of my mother from her adventuring days. "Rune of shadow" is what her name translates into, a name that hints at what she is capable of if used correctly. She boasts an adamatine blade as well as excellent craftsmanship, so she can cut through most anything without getting chipped. Eirnae once recited the list of her magical properties, and I'll try to list them all here. She is magically more accurate as well as sharp, she has been imbued with holy power like my mother's Bael'tae (Eirnae's second b*****d sword), and she is able to damage ethereal beings. There was a time when I avoided touching Ansr'athali, afraid of what her sharp edge was capable of. Now I have her strapped to the outside of my left thigh whenever I leave the manor.

Perhaps but a memory now, as I have been unable to summon my soul staff since Sei was born. It was a focus for my channeling what could be described as soul energy, my own and that of others, for many purposes.

Tiaiel was a gift Eirnae brought to me from a man she calls Lehn Moorgahaine. Her name means "Magic giver" in elven, and yes, I consider my wand to be female in spirit as well as a giver of magic. Nyoka has assured me that what I experienced upon holding Tiaiel for the first time indicated that I do indeed have a magical talent of some kind. I am in the midst of arranging for lessons from Calavel and Lenore.

Everyone has friends that accompany them through their life's journey, and some are even lucky enough to boast of those that stick with them to the end. I suppose I'm one of the lucky ones.

When I was very young, I had no companions of my own. Hoshi introduced me to a Tae named Daedrim, who was then just a small pup. I knew his name the moment his spirit entered my vision, and felt as if I'd always known him, though to this day I cannot explain why. He became my best friend as well as my refuge when my nightmares became unbearable. He grew as I did, as if we were spiritually linked. Soon I gained another four legged friend in the form of Ruatae, who was once my mother's bonded Doggin. Ruatae switched the bond to me through sheer force of will when she reset the bones in my wings, taking the pain of the process into herself and shielding me from it entirely. She and Daedrim took up the call of guarding me from the dangers of the world. They followed me wherever I went, and were always there when I needed them. Nyual came to me through Hoshi, a forlorn and wounded fallen angel in need of healing and a home. I took him in, called him my son, and let my spiritual energies heal his body and soul. Though I always knew he was far older than he appeared, he never dropped the illusion or attitude of youth. The memories of the games we played still bring a twinge of a smile to a face.

I gave of my life freely to bring back the members of my family who were taken from me for that long year, as I saw no other way of reviving them. I shall carry the shame of not considering what would happen to Ruatae, Daedrim, and Nyual when I made my decision. I could feel their lives slipping away with my own, yet I could do nothing to stop it. What was done was done. Then the greatest surprise of my life happened. I glimpsed a shining form, and heard a voice that was as familiar as it was warm saying that it was not my time. I was gently guided back into my body, and opened my eyes in time to witness a merging of the three I called my guardian, my Bond, and my son. There was no great flash of light, and no fanfare. Just the soft melting of skin into fur, and vice versa. What resulted is a being who calls himself Ruathal. From what I can tell, the personality of Daedrim is the dominant of the blend, though he does exhibit traits that both Ruatae and Nyual were known for from time to time. He is incredibly protective of me, and insists on accompanying me no matter where I go, much like Daedrim and Ruatae once did. I am slowly getting him to understand the concept of personal space. It helps when he goes to see Nakia, who is Nyoka's Tae.

I really don't know much about Tella, beyond the fact that she sprang to life from the mingling of the remains of my mother's old forehead gem and a chip off of my new one. Yes, despite her lack of any gender specific attributes, I think of Tella as being female. Her full name is Tella tel Meniant, which is simply what came to mind when I first saw her. I'll have to research what on Gaia it means.

Don't let Puff's cute face fool you. She's been running wild in the Emerald Forest ever since we arrived at the manor, and only comes inside when she wants attention or food, usually the latter. She's been known to give some nasty scratches in her time, but only to those that dare to annoy her by trying to pick her up.

I like to think of Rascal as Puff's partner in crime, only Rascal tends to like to help himself to whatever is lying about the house to add to his 'hoard'. It seems to annoy him to no end when one of us tracks him down and takes back whatever it is that he's stolen to put it back in its proper place. He's especially fond of small glass or crystal bottles, having mastered how to carry them in his mouth without crushing them.

My dearest love, I do not know where you are now, but wherever you may be I want you to know that you are always in my thoughts and my heart. I pray that you will return to us one day, and remain hopeful that my prayers will one day be answered. I do not want you to miss out on watching our son grow up.

Sei, my son, who I have only held in my arms for the first few moments of his life. I am determined to make up for my mistake of giving in to my fear and not visiting you earlier. I hope that in time you will forgive me for my lapse of judgement. You are my greatest treasure, dear Sei, and I adore you utterly.
