Introduction

Hello and welcome to the Christmas Wishes Charity. This charity is dedicated to helping those who are questing for others and for themselves. Although we are the Christmas wishes charity, it is not required that you be questing for Christmas presents or for something for youself for Christmas. The recent events in Gaia, what with Jack nearly killing santa, and the apperance of S Corp (it's begining to seem a little sinister) have made me doubtful about this Christmas. Let's help Santa out this year. 3nodding

arrow Now taking applications for those who would like to be elves (helpers).
Your job as an elf: Hang around answering questions, enforcing rules, giving the submitted threads at least one bump. Feel free to donate to those on our list as well. If you have other ideas of what you think the elves should do, feel free to pm me with your suggestions. Elves are not paid, as this is a charity and I believe all the gold should go twoards helping questors. There may occasionally be little gifts or tokens of appreciation for hard working elves. It is not required that you wear an elf outfit as I do.

Applying for a donation is very simple. You may apply for yourself or for someone else.

APPLICATION
Username of the questor:
Quest thread link:
Why this person? (optional, but helps)

In the why this person section, you can discuss why the person should get a donation and/or tell us anything that you think we ought to know about their quest or whatever.

Rules:
Follow the ToS
Do not send pms begging myself or any staff member or donator for a donation. This will get you put on the naughty list.
Please do not bump excessively.
You must have a quest thread and it must be in the charity/quests subforum.
Please try to use appropriate spelling and grammar. I'm not going to be really mean about this, but if I can't understand you application, you won't get a donation.
Feel free to talk about anything related to Gaia. I love company 3nodding

More will be added later if necessary.

Donations may be any size of gift or gold. Please do not be upset if you get a small donation. I will be checking the quest threads and deciding your donation based on : charity funds, the level of your dedication and to a small degree, how your thread looks. I'm not going to require that you have fancy graphics or anything, because I know you can have a good thread without them, but it should look like you put time and effort into the thread. If you are questing for multiple items, you might recieve one of those items. Occasionally, you may not receive a donation for what you are questing for, but something off your wishlist.

Current Giveaway Annoucement
This is not something you can "enter" per say, but it is something I and my elves (if they want to) will be doing. I/We will wander around the quest threads, and give out small presents off of gaians wishlists. There is no way to guarentee that I/we will give you something, so it is always a surprise!

Part One of ?
It was a quiet December morning, just before dawn. Emigh Warnton pulled her blanket tighter around her as she walked through Towns, admiring the Christmas lights adorning the houses. Fresh snow had fallen overnight, so her footsteps were muffled as she walked towards the train station. The train arrived at 6 AM, right on schedule. She climbed into the coach car, sat down and pulled out a tattered newspaper she had found on her morning walk. It was part of the editorial section, filled with speculation about what was happening at S Corp, how Santa was, and angry letters to the editor on both sides of the Jack-Santa incident.
"Barton Town!" called the conductor. "All those going to Barton, this is your stop. This train will continue on to Akea and Durem. Those passagengers wishing to go to Isle de Gambino should get off here at Barton and borrow a boat from Old Man Logan at Basken' lake, just north of Barton."

Part Two: To Durem!
Emigh was momentarily stuck to the back of her seat as the train started up. She closed her eyes. It would travel to Aekea first, to pick up the Gaians who needed to get to work, and drop off a few who worked there. Not many people worked in Durem, so only rarely did the train go their first. She dozed off. An hour later, she was in Durem. She stepped out of the train into a brisk wind that had recently blown in from the coast. The falling snow swirled around her. Emigh walked over to H.R. Wesley. A bell tinkled merrily as she opened the door. She admired the fine clothes, and paused for a long moment in front of the rack of G-LOL gowns. She fingered the silky smooth fabric longingly. Suddenly a sharp voice jerked her back to the shop. "Well, are you going to buy anything or just dirty it?", a voice demanded crossly. She turned, startled, and faced Edmund. He looked at her, slowly taking in every detail of her shabby outfit. His eyes lingered on her worn gloves and then on her faded skirt. "Buy or get out." Edmund's voice was calm and low, making it even more frighening than before. Emigh turned and walked out, into the bright morning sun. Snow had ceased to fall.

Part three
Emigh walked over to the train station, intending to take the 12:10 back. When she got there, a handwritten sign was posted on the door of the closed station. It read:
CLOSED DUE TO BARTON TOWN EMERGENCY.
"That's odd", she thought to herself. Resigned to what looked like another long walk, she headed towards Barton. After an hour of trudging through the thick snow, she reached Barton Town. She was shocked to see that the public square had been very badly damaged, like an earthquake had hit. Emigh strolled into the pub to get some answers and also order a cup of hot apple cider.
"What would you like?" the bartender inquired.
"Oh, just a mug of hot apple cider" Emigh replied.
"You sure that's all? Allright" the bartender went off to fill a mug.
Emigh sat on the stool, gazing around the crowd. Suddenly, a figure rushed towards her.
"Emigh! Emigh! I haven't seen you in the longest time!" the figure cried, hugging her.
"Elizabeth? How are you?" Emigh replied joyfully. She was pleased to see that her friend had more color in her cheeks and did not look as chilled and thin as the last time she had seen her.
"Emigh, I got them! It took me weeks, but I got them!" Elizabeth raised her foot proudly. " I didn't even have to pay for them, I got them from collecting junk around the neighborhoods!"
Emigh looked down at her friend's outstreched leg. "Oh, you got your boots! And for free?"
"Yes, Old Man Logan told me if I brought him 500 old boots I could exchange them for these." She smiled. "They're so lovely and warm. He called them Patchwork boots."
At that moment, the bartender came back with a steaming mug of cider.
"Thank you." Emigh told him, a pulled a few coins out of her pocket.

Part Four
"Oh no" the bartender told her, putting the coins back into her hand. "It's on the house. Cider is cheap, and it's near Christmas."Emigh tried to interupt but he continued."Besides, you look like you need it."
Emigh's cheeks burned but she was grateful to keep the money. "Thank you" she whispered.
Elizabeth smiled. "What a nice man" she commented. "Hey Emigh, want to come with me to the flower shop?"
"Yes" Emigh replied. "I want to wrap a few bouquets for people, and then head to the Isle to make some hats with all that junk I've collected."
"Good plan"
They stepped out into the square. It had snowed more while they were in, and a soft, white blanket covered the ground. A thin layer of ice floated on the fountain.
