Saede: Hey... Arrien? ... Oh. You're offline. That's cool.

This is a quest for one of the lovely "pets" from the Gaia Maternity and Fertility Clinic. The purpose of this paticular breedables shop is to role-play, and recieve art of your avatar's child(ren). All the artwork is beautifully done, and it's all run by the lovely Kamiki. To be blunt, this is a quest worth questing for.

One day, it just hit me. The thing I had most been trying to avoid was now... something I wanted. Really wanted. Craved beyond- well, you get the idea. As much as I had tried to resist, I now was yet another Gaian who wanted an appointment at the Gaia Maternity and Fertility Clinic, aka, the GMFC. In the end, there was no use pouting about it. I just had to find what I was going to do about it.

I realized I would never have enough funds for an auction really early on. I carry about 16k at maximum, and have no real art skills to pawn off on the masses. That meant I was going to have to plan for a child through a writing contest. HAHA, I thought. I can write fairly well! I like capitals! I can do this! I'll just write IC!Saede getting pr... oh.

Who the hell is going to date a scary teenage girly-girl... and who the hell is going to date her and conveniantly also want her to have their spawn!? Bard, that's who. there was no doubt in my mind, that the blind mage guy she had met once would definitely work. It was either I convince Arrien to let there be the scary pairing of Bard/Saede, or I would have to use another character for the appointment.

Arrien didn't take much convincing, actually. She just insisted on some silly things like Saede and Bard actually getting to know each other somewhat before I tried to get Saede preggers. heart

From there, it was easy! Me and Arrien talked EVERY day, and I would scare her with my obsessions and she would have all these good, thought out ideas... and I would steal them and it was all awesome. The funnest part is how DYSFUNCTIONAL it will all be. Saede is kinda too young. Bard is from another dimension. IC!Arrien and Saede's cousin Julian are going to pitch a b***h-fit... Fun fun fun. I'm just in love with the whole idea. And that's my "Why?"! - Saede

P. S. Arrien, you can do your own, less stupid version. Just make sure to put your name on the end of it! MUAHAAH.

Arrien - Let me see... I need to justify myself? Crap, I'm screwed.

Mostly, I suppose I'm in this because I love anything that mixes art and roleplaying. <3 I've known about the GMFC for a good while; right after I started hanging out around the B/C-P forum I ran into it, mostly because I recognized the name of one of the artists as someone I roleplayed with at the time. I was focused only on the Fa'e back then, however, and didn't have any strong characters that I felt the need to get preggers. (I don't think I was even roleplaying any of my characters on a regular basis back then, actually...).

Flashforward a year and a couple months. As of the middle of August, my Fa'e quest was more or less realized when JadeEye and Seeno Evil informed me of their intentions to let me make Keir and Yanisin's eventual spawn my own; whatever funds I'd scrounged up were donated to other questors, my quest thread was shut down, and I happily focused my efforts on the two B/C-P's that I had recieved, Fenrir and Tyzz, to settle in for the wait. A little while later, I got my third B/C-P from Project Soul Records. At this point, I stopped looking- 'I can't get anymore B/C-P's until I get my Fa'e,' I nagged myself. 'I'm in college, after all; I don't want to screw myself up by overloading myself.'

This all worked out nicely; I love all my kids and characters, I have a blast playing them. But, of course, there came that fateful evening where Saede started talking about wanting to quest for a GMFC appointment, and mused about the possible pairing that she could use- and Bard came up as a possibility.

Believe it or not, I'm not as stupid as I look. xd You don't go up to someone and talk about characters hooking up, and just happen to mention a pairing involving one of their characters in the midst of it.

Me: "Bard/Saede, you say? That would be interesting! surprised " Inwardly, I cringed with horror at the thought of Bard-spawn. But even more deeply, I was laughing maniacally at the thought.

What it really comes down to is this; beyond all the IC hysteria that I know it's going to cause (and I love my drama), a GMFC is the perfect thing for me right now. Mostly, because I'll have someone around to nag me about it and to cover for me when I'm busy with real life or the rest of my flock. ^_^ The fact that I know at least one of the names attached to it doesn't hurt, either... I lost track of my friend after I left the roleplay we were both in, so it'd be more than a little fun to just pop up and go, "Yo! Ryuuki says hi, and guess who won the GMFC writing contest?!"

... I think so, anyway. x3

Arrien: *whines* Do we really have to plan things out ahead of time...? Can't we just draw a stick-figure picture of a vaguely human creature, point to that and say "yep yep, we know what we're doing", and call it good?

Race: Half-elf...?
Special Qualities: Has a good deal of magical power, usually manifested through the focus provided by music. Is blind; this may or may not be hereditary, needs to be discussed.
Personality: Bard is an extremely accomodating, friendly, and chivalrous person. He loves all forms of art and poetry, though his heart will be forever pledged to music. He is generally very in-touch with the emotions of others; when he finds them to be negative, he can become somewhat manipulative in order to get them back on the sunny side of things again.

Skin Color: Healthy tan, unremarkable.

Other Notes: Is this information vague? Hell yes. And it better damn well be. Bard is a character that I have been running for years before I ever came to Gaia; he is one of the very few characters that I've decided not to give all the information about, willy-nilly. If we manage to secure a GMFC appointment, then I will reveal more information about him to those that need to know- but absolutely no one else. The only way that I intend to reveal any serious information about this character is through roleplay, either with him or Arrien (who, honestly, probably knows more about him than he does). ^^ So yeah. I'll add in more information as it becomes available, but otherwise... deal.

Saede: Just like Arrien to not be around when I could easily have forced her to set up this post!

Donations are greatly appreciated, and half of why we set up this quest. A GMFC costs millions of gold for an auction, and then a slightly hefty sum even through a contest or flatsale. Saede and Arrien don't have 30k combined... though hopefully we're going to work on that. Both items and gold are accepted, and while it doesn't help us payment wise... Fanart is just as appreciated! heart
