You must be aware that the lakes & other natural areas around Gaia are TERRIBLY POLLUTED!

I'm calling on you, my fellow Gaians, to help make a difference!

We're going to make those big fat cats (i.e. Gambino) listen & clean up our natural fish habitats!



"Well, what can WE do?" You may be asking yourself.

First, we can all sign a petiton to begin efforts to clean up the various bodies of water.

Second, we can start a grass roots recycling movement. With the tin, leather, and rubber salvaged from old garbage we may actually be able to do some good!

I want to collect as much junk as is possible, to demonstrate to the bigwigs just how much there really is. Perhaps, with a heaping pile of evidence, some action may be taken.

These aren't all answers to actual questions, but it's important information.


Q: Where am I?

A: This is the Durem Recycling Center. (Not to be confused with the Durem Reclamation Facility) We collect old cans, boots, and tires that have been pulled out of Gaia's lakes.


Q: Why is this thread in the Fish Market Forum?

A: It was a toss-up between the Fishing Forum and the Charity Marketplace. The thread is fishing-related and would probably get more traffic here, but I'm basically asking people to give me stuff, so I started off in the charity forum. Luckily they made a Fish Market and solved my problem.



Q: How do I sign the petition?

A: Just PM me or post here letting me know you want to, and I'll add you.


Q: STFU, N00b! Petishens don't werk!

A: Please state your answer in the form of a question. I know petitions don't tend to get results. That's not the point.



Q: How do I donate? We can't trade fish!

A: That is a problem. There's a reasonably foolproof way to do it, but you need a vending pass.


Q: I don't fish/I filter/I sold all my junk. Is there a way I can help?

A: Sure! Though I'd prefer junk, I'll accept cash or items, which I can use to get more junk or reward donators. Also, you can contribute with ideas, pictures or drawings, shared links, and most importantly, TRAFFIC! If you feel like bumping, and haven't got anything to say, that's fine, but only do it once. I don't want bumps to outnumber real posts.


Q: Hey! I can get some MAD bank if I sell this stuff in the marketplace. Why should I donate it to you?

A: If you want to make money, you'd best sell it, then. I can only offer to pay the same price Logan (The fishing guy) does. That's 1g/can, 2g/boot, and 3g/tire. This so those who normally sell their junk to Logan can sell it to me instead, without losing the money they'd make.



Q: Prizes?!?

A: Yes. I will randomly give out prizes of items or cash to donators. (NOT to those who sell me their junk.) This is just a little incentive and to make things more fun. I am not required to give anything, so don't donate expecting a prize. This isn't the lottery. As the junk totals build, the prizes will get better.


Q: What are you gonna do with all this junk?

A: I dunno. The original intention was just to see how much I could collect, and to "Show Gambino" just how much junk was in those damn lakes. I WILL NOT sell the junk for my own profit. If I ever give up on this thread, all the junk (even all the stuff I've caught) will be sold and the money spread out among the donators, unless someone has a better idea. It has now been proven that you can get items for 500 tires, 1000 boots or 5000 cans. If we reach one of these goals, I will randomly pick a donator to recieve the item.

Breaking Story:


When the totals pass 1000 of each item, I will randomly give out my Nov letter.


Old News:


We have acquired the patchwork boots. Lord Excelsior was the winner.


Trash items are now available at 500 tires, 1000 boots or 5000 cans. If you want one, but can't get that many yourself, try donating here. When we get enough for one, it will be randomly distributed to a donator. We have just exchanged for a Tire on My Head. SilonGray was selected winner on randomizer.org.


I'm collecting basic rods in the marketplace to give out to newbs.

I've got: 11 so far.

If you have any basic rods you don't want, please donate them to me.
