The Pokémon journey.
That one part of every young trainer's life that they all look forward to; those crucial years that allow the trainer to venture out on their own voyage of self-discovery, coming out the other side a completely different person. Perhaps they decide to continue their travels and become masters of Pokémon. Perhaps they find joy in the life of a breeder. Perhaps they find a place helping those around the cities and towns as nurses or policemen. Perhaps they even end their trek and become leaders of the Pokémon world like Gym Leaders and Champions. This is how it has always been, and until recently, how people thought it always would be.

But, in the words of Bob Dylan: 'The times, they are a-changin'.' That quote could not be more relevant. Over the last twelve years, the world has faced the plights of many teams. Teams such as Team Rocket, Team Aqua, Team Galactic, and Team Plasma. While some among those squads have seen the light and renounced their wicked ways, and found their real places in the Pokémon world, no one thought that they would ever remain; shades of the past darkening with every passing day.

Now, eighteen years after the first appearance of the first criminal team, things are now taking that new leap forward. People are vanishing in the wilderness at night, their Pokémon either dead, missing or traumatised. The number of docile wild Pokémon is dwindling, with their natures becoming even more defensive and raging than they ever have been. Until they are caught by a caring trainer or calmed in some manner, they even go as far as to harm human Trainers physically to scare them off or attack them unprovoked. Dreams have been crushed by this new violence, and the cause has been identified. This new, inexplicable activity has come about due to the activities of a new, very much worse team of evildoers:

Team Armageddon.

No one knows why they're doing it, but they are. They set their evilly trained Pokémon into the streets at night to raise hell, and they have used technology to spurn the wild Pokémon into their aggressive states. Only those that a trainer can best, and truly befriend, can stand against them. These man have attested to the attacks through several media hacks and satellite overrides over the last two weeks. They seem to have been brought together through the channels of the dead and decaying Teams Rocket, Aqua, Magma, Galactic and the remains of the devious Team Plasma. The police forces have failed to rise against or stop them, and no one even knows who they can trust any more. It has been named not only legal, but advisory, that people now carry weapons with which to defend themselves and their Pokémon against any outraged wild creatures. And, perhaps the most shocking, is something that has never happened before:

Wild Pokémon have been declared 'Dangerous'.

But will this stop the new trainers from starting their journeys to stand against Armageddon? No. The union of Pokémon Professors, acclaimed for their pivotal roles in the lighting of new trainers' flames along the fiery road to a new life, have devised a plan. From across the world, hardened and experienced trainers have been summoned to the labs of the professors, with the intention of taking on young charges, to teach about the world of Pokémon and to defend against Team Armageddon. Some may be champions, others may be leaders, and a few may even have prior affiliations to the old teams.

This is the Hoenn region, notably the region most affected by the darkness spread by the Team Armageddon members. It is suspected that this is the base of their operations, and today marks the beginning of the Guardian Trainer Protectorate Program or G.T.P.P. What will happen? Will the leaders of Team Armageddon, kept in the shadows all this time, emerge hidden under the guise of guardians? Will the guardians and their charges uncover the true plot of the Armageddon legion? Will some of those who leave Littleroot Town today slip up and succumb to the darkness now residing in the rough routes of Hoenn?

Will Team Armageddon's evil spread even further? Or will they be stopped?

The choice is yours.

OO1. Follow the ToS, of course.

OO2. It is in our power to change the rules.

OO3. No one is God! So you can not be in two places at once. No Pokémon is able to do that.

OO4. This is a semi-lit role play. That means every post must contain at least two paragraphs, with at least five details sentences each, or the equivalent thereof, but more is desired and appreciated. There is no excuse to have one-liner posts. We all have writers block from time to time, but in a group RP like this, you should have enough to work from. You may get a pardon if a good reason is provided, but only one chance.

OO5. Grammar and spelling counts. Don't make yourself sound stupid. I know you can make a few mistakes here and there but don't overdo it. We want to be able to read these posts, so at least try and be a little careful. We understand that no one is perfect, so we can accept that sometimes 's's will be left off, and homophones are no one's best friend, butt dont tork lyck dis inn yuor pots! This is an English RP, so please take the slightest bit of care to speak, guess what, ENGLISH!

OO6. If you're going to be in this roleplay, please be active. Post at least every three days. If you have an absence or an emergency, inform us or put it up in the OOC.

OO7. All profiles/reserves must be sent to us and only us unless we tell you otherwise. Please highlight all the rules to find out what the subject would be, otherwise we'll know you haven't read the rules to come this far.

OO8. All posts must have at least a picture and a name, a total must. No neon colors because they are blinding. The only way you can use it if your are using it as decoration, not as text. I'd also like to add, please try to include a location, mood and company bar somewhere in your posts or layouts; makes the whole thing unbelievably easier. I do, personally, like to see nice layouts, 'cos it shows that the player is willing to put the effort in.

OO9. Be nice and talk to everyone. Don't be one of those people who looks for the hotties and the popular guys. Everyone has a story that is unique. It's the inside that matters, not the outside. And if you see someone being a lonely emo, then bring them into your conversation, 'cos then we can move everyone's stories along a whole lot more that way!

O1O. Here's a thing about your characters: in the profile skeleton, there is a thing called 'personality.' Make your character act according to what you put. If you said that they are outgoing, loud, and emotional, then make them act that way! The only excuse you should have is that they have multi-personality disorder, bi-polarity, or amnesia. HERE! THE SUBJECT IS: 'Armageddon outta here!!'

O11. Romance and violence is highly encouraged in this RP. If you know me then you should know that I love romance and violence. So please bring it in. No quick romance or anything. Wait until about the tenth page to start something like that. You can start liking people, but no hookups until a reasonable point in the RP. And no 'love at first sight' crap either. This is meant to be as realistic as Gijinkas can be, not a Disney princess flick.
Reminder ; Keep it PG 13. NO SEX IN OUR ROLE PLAY! As soon as you get the clothes off, do a time skip! That is not an excuse to take the scene to the PM's, 'cos I find that perverted. That being said, swearing is allowed in small doses, up to and including the word '********,' and that word is limited to two uses per post. Definitely no higher than that, no sexual slurs or racist comments, and don't be like Wolverine and have your posts completely comprised of T******* H********** I********* S******! Once a paragraph for each of the medium-high swears is the maximum. 'Hell,' 'damn,' and 'crap?' Go nuts with them, 'cos no one gives a crap about them.

O12. NO ADDING MAJOR PLOT ELEMENTS! If you have an idea that you'd like to include, send us a PM to see if we think it's acceptable. If it gets rejected, don't take it as bad taste or bias, but don't keep begging or changing little bits of it to see if we'll add it! It gets very, very, VERY annoying after a while. Furthermore, don't continuously submit ideas, whether they get rejected or not, if no one else is. We are the MODs, not you! If you just keep blathering on about what you think should happen, we will just stop reading them.

O13. Character art should be used for all characters, but we encourage this artwork to be either original or for you to have gotten permission from the artist to use it. If you don't, and the artist gets mad, we will refer them to this rule saying that we encouraged permission, so it won't be our responsibility.

O14. Due to the nature of the RP's Team affiliations, all characters must be OC's. The only canons that I will accept are ones that had no prior affiliations to teams, and were NOT the main character (as in, the Player), in any games. This means no N's, no Reds, no Archies/Maxies, and no Rubys, but people like Gary, Barry, Gym Leaders and others will be allowed. Furthermore, the canons that are not allowed are still allowed to be minor/major figures in an OC's backstory, but please check other people's profiles to see if they are already used. For the sake of sanity, if, for example, Ghetsis is used in someone's biography, he cannot be used again unless you plan and confer it with the player of that character and arrange it to fit around theirs; first come, first serve I'm afraid.

O15. Now, Team Armageddon. You can play as members of this team, but only mentors are allowed to be a part of the Team; however, that doesn't mean that all Team members have to be mentors. If you want to have your average, uniformed grunts and admins running around causing trouble, then go ahead and apply for one. You will have to confer with other members who play them, and me, to make sure their modus operandi and motives are sound. These people are ruthless and merciless, so please don't try to make your characters righteous and good if they are members; try to reflect Team Armageddon in their personalities. Right now, you can only apply to be grunts or admins of Team Armageddon, but if you're interested in playing a higher up like a general or even a boss, you'll have to ask me personally since there are a few things I want to go over with whoever ends up playing them. I would play the boss myself, but I only have one character who fits that sort of personality, and unless you want this RP to be filled with intense molestation, spiritual fear and unspeakable evil, I'm not really sure you'd like him.

O16. Legendaries. Yes, they are awesome, and they do give your trainer immense street cred, but here's the thing. Only mentors who have been trainers for at least six years who have no prior affiliation to any criminal Teams, former or current, can have one (and ONLY one!), and they can only be ones that are lower down on the 'scale,' per se. Some of them are just... overly powerful. No major mascot legendaries or above, and some of the lessers after that are case-by-case basis so don't be upset if I say no to any. And the important part: try to have it make sense! If your character was born in Kanto and came to Hoenn at some point, that means they can only have come into contact and captured a legendary from those regions. No capturing Shaymin or Genesect. If you really want one in that situation, then fit it into your bio, but don't make them have gone to another reason JUST to find it. Plus, don't just say you ran into it, became friends, and then it wanted to be caught. No; make it more sensible. Legendary Pokémon either fight, hard, or run. You will have had to trick them, best them, or have come up with a damn good reason to do anything else. But, just an added note; having a mentor who has been a trainer for even twenty years and doesn't have a legendary does NOT make them pussies! There are, like, 47 legendaries for 7 billion people; not everyone will have caught one. And one last note: I do consider Volcarona to be a legendary. It's technically not, but it has such a famous background, it doesn't appear in the wild, and it seems to be immortal. This makes it what I call a pseudo-legendary, and the only pseudo-legendary I can think of.

O17. We can make or break the rules! We can also break you too! Keep that in mind.

Littleroot Town: A famous place, known for its part in providing new trainers with a home and a starting point to their journey, as well as the home and workplace of Professor Rowan and his team. Until now, it has been one of the quietest spots in Hoenn. But, in light of the recent events, it is now much more dangerous, with at least five armed policemen patrolling at night. Due to the weak Pokémon around the town and the small population, there is little danger of running into extremely powerful and angry Pokémon, but the threat is always there...

Today is the first day of the Guardian Trainer Protectorate Program, and the day that rookie trainers that have either just started their journeys or haven't even gotten that far yet will meet with adult trainers with the experience to protect them from the harshness of the new world. They embark upon their new journey today, but first, they must choose who they will trust enough to guide them.

Good evening, and welcome to the morning news on Channel Five. I am Hiroshi Tanaka, reporting live from Slateport City. The time is 10AM Hoenn Standard Time. Our top stories tonight: emo-core singer Renée Rainbow's newest album, 'Left in Stitches', has already grossed record revenue over its opening weekend, shattering records for both the genre and the stylist herself; the citizens of Fortree City begin preparations for their annual Winglight Festival in ten days time, with Gym Leader Winona spearheading the operation; Violet City Gym Leader, Hiro Tsuyoi, celebrates his third anniversary as the world's first non-native Gym Leader to any region; and police forces in Oreburgh City are still investigating the triple burglary that occurred last week.

But first, we have your daily update on the situation regarding Team Armageddon. This self-proclaimed unit of global super-terrorists have still yet to be identified by name, but a list of suspects of criminal activity perpetrated under Team Armageddon's ideology is being compiled by the International Police Force. In the meantime, the government is still pressing a business as usual state until further notice. However, the recent social policy allowing trainers to carry weapons as they travel from settlement to settlement to promote self-defence is still receiving high levels of criticism. The World League is still saying that such a law was only implemented in response to the activity of Team Armageddon.

To recap the recent events, wild Pokémon across the world have recently been acting with much more aggression and less limits than ever before, with apparently no cause or provocation to do so. So far, over fifty people have gone missing and twenty have been confirmed dead as a result of this feral behaviour. Twelve days ago, a worldwide media override by a group dubbed Team Armageddon occurred, wherein they claimed all responsibility for the change in wild Pokémon behaviour through use of a modified audio/visual message. They claim to be doing it out of revenge for all of the past criminal organisations to date, with an ideology based around anarchy, rebellion and downright carnal criminal action.

Joining us on Channel Five this morning is Lenora, the current Gym Leader for Nacrene City in Unova and acclaimed Pokémon Master of the Normal Type. Thank you for joining us, Lenora.

Now, Lenora... The recent change in Pokémon behaviour; do you believe that this Team Armageddon are, as they claim, responsible for what's been happening around the world?

The fact of the matter is, disrupting such a crucial natural order as the rituals and behaviours of wild Pokémon in their own environments is only something that a downright evil person would think of doing, and only that person would have the integrity to admit it in front of the world."

So you're saying that only someone who could and actually would disrupt the natural harmony would go as far as to actually admit it, like Team Armageddon have done?

"It's not just that, either. Whoever actually managed to find a way to throw off the balance like this must have some great technological power and prowess. And you say what happened two weeks ago; the whole world, all at once, every television, radio, computer and mobile device began to play the same message. That can only be the work of some sort of hacking software like a data worm; not even a Pokémon like Rotom could do that. But this was even bigger than that. Nothing was excluded; no firewall or hacking defence system could stop it. So whoever managed to accomplish that obviously would have it in their means to throw off the Pokémon's natural order like this."

I see... But how exactly do you think that Team Armageddon may have done this? I mean the disruption of Pokémon behaviour, of course; not the hacking.

"I'm no Pokémon psychologist, Hiroshi. I really have no clue what they could be doing. At a guess, an absolute guess, though... I suppose they would have to either be doing something to their immediate environment, like putting toxins or additives into any nearby water sources, or they're doing something technological, like some sort of signal or something. The only other thing they could be doing is something using psychic or dark Pokémon... But I've never seen any sort of Pokémon that could do something like this, or even would."

So to what extent do you think whatever is causing this new behaviour has gone? Just how much has it changed them?

"Well, of course, there's the obvious bounds we've already seen. Pokémon attacking, wounding, or even killing humans; it's unthinkable. But I think there are a few things we need to take into account."

Those things being?

"Well, I'm sure that the police have noticed it right already, but of all the trainers who have showed up, twenty or more have been found dead. But what's interesting is that the bodies are either completely intact, or in pieces that make up a complete human body, if you'll pardon the image. But the point is... nothing's missing. The Pokémon are going as far as to kill humans that probably really get unlucky, but they have not yet gone as far as to ingest the meat. They still have emotions."

So whatever is causing this behaviour is affecting them, but not to the extent that they would actually eat human flesh?

"Exactly my point. Furthermore, we can see that wild Pokémon are still responding to survival instincts and even fears or phobias. A fire type Pokémon chasing a trainer will still never cross or jump into a river that it knew would be too dangerous. They still have their emotions, but they've been instilled with a murderous level of anger and hatred."

And the only known way to counter this anger is capture, of course.

"That's right. The way that a Pokéball is built makes it so that it creates an emotional and psychological bond between the caught Pokémon and the person who caught it. Interestingly enough, even after a Pokémon is released from a trainer's Pokéball, permanently, that emotional bond still exists; a formerly caught Pokémon still will not be affected by this emotional disorder."

So a final resort when being chased by a Pokémon, you say, could be to attempt to capture the Pokémon that is pursuing you in a capsule, even if you release it straight afterwards.

"Exactly. And it goes even further than that. There are several trainers in the world today who have befriended Pokémon but never actually caught them in Pokéballs. What's interesting about these particular instances is that the Pokémon they have truly befriended, almost as if they were caught, have not been affected by Team Armageddon's practices. That emotional bond has still been forged; what the Pokéball does is just creates a bridge, you could say, so that connection can be built much faster."

I see... Just one more thing before we move on. Lenora... In your honest opinion as not only a Gym Leader, but one of the Leaders who stood against the first incarnation of Team Plasma all those years ago at the Pokémon League, what do you think is going to happen next? What will be Team Armageddon's next move?

"I really don't know, Hiroshi. The police are already capturing grunts as we've seen in the news in the last few days, but being the extremists they are, I doubt we're going to get anything out of them. But even causing this sort of... unnatural disruption will cease to be enough for Team Armageddon eventually; almost all criminal organisations have started by stealing Pokémon and resources so they can build up to something greater, and that will be what happens this time as well. Until we know any more, there's really nothing that can be predicted."

I see... Well, thank you very much for appearing on Channel Five this morning, Lenora. Good luck at the Gym.

"Thank you, Hiroshi; best of luck."

The message reads: 'The Team Armageddon situation is now becoming too much of a public threat for the police to handle alone. Citizens are hereby instructed to apprehend any Team Armageddon agents they encounter, provided that they are strong enough to do so; it is not advisable for anyone under the age of eighteen to challenge a Team Armageddon agent. Any information gathered as a result from any captures will be rewarded greatly by the public service of the International Police Force.'

The world can be a very different place in a few short years; I think most of us have found that out recently. As such, some changes have come about in the last few short years as well. Any new changes will go up here.

1. Falkner has retired as the Violet City Gym Leader to pursue his own journey; his replacement is the Flying-Type expert from Snowpoint City, Hiro Tsuyoi, and his trusty team of Altaria, Unfezant, Pidgeot and Staraptor. Hiro often spends his days meditating and training in Sprout Tower, as well as exploring the Ruins of Alph to try and uncover any new secrets.
2. Lt Surge has stepped aside from his place as official Gym Leader of Vermilion City to allow his son, Reno, to take the title. However, since Reno has left to engage in the Guardian Trainer Protectorate Program in Hoenn, Lt Surge has once again stepped up as the Leader temporarily, while Reno remains the official holder of the title.
3. In the last two years, the Burned Tower in Ecruteak City has undergone renovations and has been reopened as a museum and shrine to the Legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh, as well as serving other functions such as a place to host festivals. On some rainy days, due to some areas still needing to be repaired, it is off-limits to the public.
4. The Devon Corporation in Hoenn, based in Rustboro City, has expanded its available wares in recent weeks to stock state-of-the-art security systems, as well as becoming the base of Hoenn's newest radio station, KHON. The radio channel covers news, sports, and the current rankings on contest tournaments.
5. The small city of Lentimas Town and the area around it is currently governed by the Creed family, with the young Myrum Creed leading as the Lord. A heartily venerable lord, Myrum listens and acts solely based on the concerns of Lentimas Town's citizens. As such, the town has recently been surrounded by large fencing and wire to make sure that any dangerous wild Pokémon cannot get in.
6. The Mauville City Gym Leader, Wattson, has reluctantly abandoned the post of Gym Leader due to debilitating health. The new Gym Leader is Concord, an Electric Type trainer who uses a five-person team of Magneton, Manetric, Raichu, Galvantula, and Emolga. And, despite his appearance, he is very much male.
7. Glacia, the Ice-Type master of the Elite Four in Hoenn, gave up the position of Elite Four member to pursue extra training in Sinnoh, more specifically Snowpoint and the mountains around it to further hone her ice skills. Replacing her is the Water-Type trainer, Devyn Monroe, with a team of Feraligatr, Slowking, Gyarados, Empoleon, Ludicolo, and Kingdra.
8. Three years ago, the Gym Leader of Sootopolis City, Juan, had to abandon the post due to health problems involving both him and his wife, (they had the same illness; that should be enough of a hint.) To take up the mantle, one Raelyn Moore volunteered to step in as Gym Leader with her combo team of Ice and Water Pokémon, consisting of Swampert, Kingdra, Lapras, Glaceon, Walrein and Milotic.
