Guinevere has always been and probably always will be a very personable kind of girl. She's not overly talkative, but more often than not she's got a friendly greeting and a bright smile for passersby. While she respects peoples boundaries usually, she tends to take notice when the people around her are unhappy, and when she does she'll probably try and cheer them up. She's got a tendency to want to help people, no matter the situation. Gwen is a listener. However, she's all take and no give. She'll sit around and listen to your entire life story, but not once will she provide a detail about herself unless prompted. Even then, she tends to hold out on sharing her feelings. Nevertheless, Gwen really is a sweet person. Gwen has an odd habit of calling everyone by little pet names. Things like 'sugar', 'honey', 'darling' and the like. Generally it's understood that Gwen has a rather southern personality, despite being raised as a big-city girl.

This could be considered odd considering how straight-forward Gwen can be. Another word to describe her could be 'blunt'. She tends to tell things like it is. It's both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, you can trust her to be honest, but at the same time she can be downright brutal. Speaking one's mind is a double-edged sword. Being a more stereotypical red-head, Gwen also has a bit of an anger issue. While it takes quite a bit to break her serene friendliness, once you do you've crossed into very dangerous territory. Her anger is explosive, and her grudges are nearly eternal. Once you've been black listed, there's a good chance you'll never get on her good side again. Of course, it does take quite a bit to tick her off that badly.

Guinevere on the battle field, however, is vastly different from the Gwen off of it. She didn't become a Battle Hall trainer via her friendly temperament. Gwen is a fierce Pokemon trainer. When she's battling, she's taking on a challenge, and Guinevere Flamel does not back down from a challenge. She hates to lose, so she gives each and every battle her all. She spends most of her free time training her Pokemon to her fighting style, so they're all well prepared to handle her all-out attacks. Her love of her Pokemon and her kind heart can be overlooked if all one sees is the trainer on the field. Gwen's determination can be downright scary at times, making it hard to believe that she's as tender a person as she is.

"Hmm, I really don't like to talk about myself all that much. There's really nothing to be said. Or maybe there is. It's not all that interesting though, I promise you that. If you must know, I was born in Ever Grande City, Hoenn. I was the second child, and I have just the one older sibling. Her name is Vera, and I really would rather we didn't talk about her. Anyway, my dad picked up and left shortly before I was born. We don't know why. Vera would never talk about it, and my grandfather had been so far removed at the time that he has no idea. Frankly, I don't think my grandfather knew my mother was pregnant for the second time, much less that my dad had up and left her with a mouth to feed and a baby on the way. He doesn't speak to fondly of my father, so I don't know much about the guy. My grandfather eventually did find out about me really quickly. My mother passed away soon after giving birth to me. My older sister and I were then promptly dropped in the lap of my well-off, well-meaning, and very distracted grandfather to be raised. The poor man didn't know what to do with himself. He'd lost his only child and had come into custody of his two granddaughters all in one day. It was a lot for him, I'm sure."

"Now don't get me wrong, I love my grandfather. He's a great man, and he's really smart. He's a breeder of sorts. He raises fire-types, which is exactly where I got my obsession from. I grew up in a house filled with fire-type Pokemon of all shapes and sizes. Which sounds great in concept, but in reality it was a little rough. Grandpa tended to get a little too involved with his breeding. To the point where he kind of forgot to buy us regular food, or pick me up from daycare, or that one time he lost me at that show and it took him like an hour to realize I was gone... Yeah. My sister and I kind of got lost. It really wasn't that bad, I mean it could have been worse, right?"
At this point Guinevere breaks off with a weak smile. She rests her chin in her palm and looks away for a few minutes. There's a long stretch of uncomfortable silence when suddenly she perks up again and resumes speaking.

"Oh, but by the time I was ten he gave me my first Pokemon. Benu! He was such an adorable little Torchic. My life really changed after that point. Vera was already long gone by then. She might've gone on to join Magma, or that's what someone told me once. I don't know. I never really saw her after she took off," Gwen shifts uncomfortably. She's lying. Clearing her throat, she struggles to regain her smile for a split second. There's an odd gloss to her eyes, signalling near tears. She's probably going to need a moment to get herself back under control.

"I started to travel around on my own, you know? I went all over Hoenn for about a year or so. I caught a few Pokemon as I went, but I couldn't seem to bond with Pokemon of any type other than the one I was raised to appreciate. By the time I completed my journey, I wasn't quite ready to leave. After my taking on the Elite Four, I realized that there was plenty of room for improvement and I needed to get on the ball if I ever wanted to be taken seriously as a trainer. That's when I settled into the sweet little town of Lavaridge at the base of Mt. Chimney. Where better to train fire-types than on a volcano, after all? I stayed there for what seemed like forever, and it was great. The people there were friendly, the training was spectacular for my fire-based team, and let me tell you, sugar, if you climb a mountain every day your legs start to look fantastic in a pair of workout shorts."

"But I digress... I was about fifteen when I decided to do a bit of globe trotting. Maybe I started too late? I don't know. I made it through Hoenn's Pokemon League and the Elite Four in a little under a year. I managed to make it through Kanto and Johto's leagues too. I had just turned nineteen when I decided the whole travel thing wasn't what I wanted. Too much hustle and bustle, and not having a comfortable place to sleep at night. I settled in Cinnabar for a little while, (Volcanoes and such, you know?) I had the hardest time deciding what I wanted. I considered breeding, like my dear old grandfather, but that was too docile for me. Maybe later on in life. I was only nineteen, after all! I gave up trying to retire, and headed on to the Sinnoh region. That's when I really got involved with the Battle Frontier. I guess it's a little weird that I had to go to a completely different region just to find out that I enjoyed the lifestyle... But that's exactly what happened."

"Once I had taken down Sinnoh's Elite Four, I moved on to the Battle Frontier there. It was a challenge I hadn't taken, despite the opportunity to do so in Hoenn. I came face to face with the Battle Hall, and I fell in love. A place where you could showcase your favorite pokemon? A place where I could prove that type doesn't always determine the outcome of a battle? Sign me up! So that's where I've been. Until now, that is," Gwen explained, frowning. It's the first time she's looked genuinely upset, almost angry.

"I heard what was happening in Hoenn, and I decided it was time to come home. My grandfather had sent me a letter, you see, mentioning that an old friend of his could use the help of a capable young adult trainer. I guess that means me, right? I have some things to take care of here in Hoenn, so of course I came back. Now I'll be helping some kid get started. I don't know if I'll be the best 'mentor' or anything, but I have learned a thing or two."

Winning; okay, so Gwen is a little competitive. So maybe it's to the point that after she's knocked someone to the ground she's not above grinding her heel into the back of someones head to make sure they stay down. She responds fairly quickly to challenges, but just know she doesn't take any situation lightly. Gwen doesn't hold back, it's not in her nature.
Fire-types; if it wasn't obvious before... Gwen was raised around them, she's well versed on them, and their personalities usually are very similar to her own.
Chivalry; Apparently it's dead. That's a crying shame, too, because Gwen is a sucker for polite, well meaning people. She's attracted to these personality types and therefore tends to befriend them quite easily.
Incense; it calms her down. She usually burns it in her own home during rainy seasons to keep herself from having anxiety attacks.
Kickboxing; it's not just her method of attack and defense, it's a hobby. She's always looking for a good (human) sparring partner who can keep up with her. She practices daily.

Sore losers; they irk her to no end. Ironically, she can get rather upset when she loses, so she's kind of hypocritical about this one.
Losing Her Temper; Gwen has got a nasty temper. She doesn't like to use it, though. She really doesn't want to be a mean person, so she tries her best not to get angry.
Rain; because it foreshadows horrible things...
Unnecessarily Rude/Harsh People; she feels like you shouldn't get upset or snap at people unless you have a reason. Ill-tempered people bother her, and she tends to annoy them after a little while while they annoy her in turn.

Astraphobia; fear of thunderstorms. This fear will most likely paralyze her. Very uncharacteristically, this fear can send her fleeing to hide beneath a bed or in some small enclosed space like a closet. Thunder gives her panic attacks. This is due to some childhood-related incident, and as such electric based attacks like 'Thunder' don't have the same terrifying effect.

Guinevere is a kick boxer. She's made a habit of practicing daily with her starter, Benu, as well as running every morning to build up her speed. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Gwen fights in close range. Her style is varied, though mostly she uses forms from savate and shoot boxing. She can do a lot of damage if given the range, but also has the ability too disarm her opponents too.

Gwen doesn't use any weapons other than her fists and her physical strength.

Well let's look at it this way, she's a close-ranged fighter with no actual weapon. Clearly her main weakness is that she can't handle too many long-ranged fighters, and while getting into close range she's more open to attacks. Gwen is also unarmed, which puts her at a disadvantage against all opponents who are armed.

Guinevere wants to be as accomplished a fire-type breeder as her grandfather. She looks forward to the day her collection of fire-type pokemon is large enough to set up her own breeders ranch. She'd also like to see peace restored to Hoenn before that happens, as well as to see her sister, Vera, taken care of. She feels like she's partially responsible for Vera and her actions.

Guinevere has to wear reading glasses, or else she can't read a single letter. She hates to wear them in front of people, so this can be a little troublesome.
Gwen really wants a new Pokemon to add to her team. A Litwick. She's never visited the Unova region, but she's met more than a few during her childhood. Chances are if she comes across one owned by another trainer she'll fawn over it for a good twenty minutes.
Gwen's older sister Vera has been arrested for her involvement in Team Magma. Gwen doesn't like to talk about it. At all. Especially because she's recently found out that, upon her release, Vera was seen hanging around Team Armageddon. Gwen doesn't doubt Vera is involved in the destruction they've caused.
