Invisible Phantom
Hide-a-Thread
Go to your favorite forum, and there bound to be many threads you'll never look at, and can at times just be annoying clutter. That is why I, with the help of a friend, wish to start a petition that would allow us to hide threads. A simple click of a button would make that thread disappear at the next page refresh.
As well as a button to hide a thread, there would be a page in Gaia to manage hidden threads. It would be very similar to your ignore list but instead of friends, it'd be your threads. There you would be able to manage threads, and "unhide" a thread if you wanted to.
The button would look something like this:
With this simple change, the forums we visit will be less cluttered by threads we won't visit, and would allow for easier and a more enjoyable experience for each person. So please sign my petition, and help make our forums a better place.
Of course, certain threads shouldn't be allowed the option to be hidden, such as Forum Rules, admin-generated threads, and non-discussion stickies. The option to hide any of these threads would be disabled, keeping them visible at all times. *Thank you, Ame no Yanagi for coming up with this idea.

I've got an idea for this,
in case the idea of hiding threads
and treating it like ignoring users
adds a load on Gaia's servers or something
for having to remember what we've hidden or ignored.
We could make it work like the PMs inbox,
where once you reach maximum capacity,
it starts deleting your oldest messages.
So once you reach your maximum capacity for hidden threads,
it'll start removing them from the list
so you'll end up seeing them again.
But by that point, maybe the thread would be dead
so you still wouldn't see it again anyway.
Or you'd just simply have to click "Hide" again when you see it,
which isn't really that hard to do anyway.
Just a thought.
