                                  Oh look!

                            • September 24 - The I/T will possibly be renamed, just a heads up. Though the new name and banner will be put up when the B/C is actually opened. Also, concerning the opening of this B/C it will be for a while yet. Most likely not until some time in October. As there are still some things that need to be fleshed out shop wise and the picking of staff will need to be finished also.

                                  In times past...

                            Pokemon couldn't have undergone any other change that would have shocked the world as it did when the World Evolution happened. The animals that had lived alongside humans, for better or for worse, were suddenly granted a body in the likeness of man and intelligence. The change not only sparked fear in some, but curiosity in many others who sought to know why such a change had happened. And why now. Vast research was launched to re-evaluate the newly changed Pokemon and the decisions that were made by what they learned was cause enough to split the world in two.

                            The one side no longer could see Pokemon as mere animals that co-existed with them, used for human gain. They decided that Pokemon should have just as much rights as they themselves. The other refused to give Pokemon an equality among humans. They clung to the system that had been used for years to capture and tame Pokemon, claiming that the newly changed Pokemon were no different than the beasts of yesterday, despite the evidence. Their whole world was balanced upon the labor and use of Pokemon. They decided they would not change their ways.

                            War was declared.

                            Countless years of battle ensued and the earth was tainted, soiled with the blood of humans and Pokemon alike. The number of wild Pokemon decreased rapidly as each side snatched them up in order to gain an advantage over the other side, pitting them into the war. Whole countries were divided, families were split apart; the world had become a massive battleground for civil war, with no ending in sight. A Pokemon professor watched the turmoil and bloodshed that engulfed the world before deciding to take his own stand. He favored the side that sympathized with Pokemon, though he refused to enter into the war himself. Instead he began to search the world for Arceus, the legendary creature that was said to have created the world.

                            After what seemed like forever he finally stood face to face with the Pokemon himself, his form having also changed as many other Pokemon's had. There was no reason to explain what was happening in the world, for Arceus already knew. So the professor told him about his dream: a world without humans, where Pokemon could live peacefully. The Pokemon seemed pleased with the human and promised to bring his dream to fruition. But it was up to the professor to build the ship that would take them all to the New Earth.

                            The professor returned to his lab and immediately began to build a ship. He was baffled when Pokemon came to his ship, two by two, male and female, but when asked why they only said, "I was told to." Before long the ship was completed and two of every Pokemon in the world were gathered. It was then that Arceus made his appearance, bringing along with him some of the other legendary Pokemon. Though these looked younger in age. The professor asked if he could go to the New Earth to see it with his own eyes and when he was granted permission everyone boarded the ship. Arceus created a portal and the ship took off through it. The professor watched as the only world he knew of began to fade away and watched as Arseus turned his attention to the world, but the portal closed before any more could be seen. He never found out what became of the world he left.

                            The journey was short, not lasting long, and the they finally found themselves on their new planet. The Pokemon filed out and the professor followed after them, looking around at the beauty of the New Earth. Time flew by and civilizations were formed. The professor watched throughout the years as Pokemon built their world. But, as all things do, the Professor grew old and passed away. A funeral was held in his honor and they buried him in a sacred place, the memories of his kindness forever settled in the hearts of those Pokemon that had made the voyage. And his Ratacate, who always stood by his side, never tamed by a Pokeball, took charge of the laboratory he left behind and continued to oversee the New Earth in his memory.

                                  Obedience is key.

                            THREAD

                            • Be respectful to everyone. No matter who the person or what they've done to you drama is not appreciated in the thread. Don't start it or fuel it. You're all big kids, handle it elsewhere. Drama among Pokemon is loved and encouraged.
                            • You may only have one Pokemon. However, you will be allowed to have more if you meet certain requirements.
                            • All Pokemon are rp/activity required. Persons that are active are much more preferred than persons who get their hands on a Pokemon and do nothing with them.
                            • Do not make quote towers, spam, quote the front page or advertise in the thread. It's not wanted and certainly not needed. Affiliates are love.
                            • Do not beg or whine for a Pokemon. You might possibly be banned from ever getting one and you also will piss off everyone else who wants one just as much as you.
                            • Do not steal from this shop! The artwork, graphics, text, etc of this thread and the guild is not for you to use. Neither is any of the work that is done by users within the guild.

                            OWNERS

                            • Your Pokemon will not grow if you are not active in the shop. It's required of you to show face in the thread and to roleplay. Your Pokemon's growth will also be put on hold if you have not completed its journal.
                            • Your Pokemon will have a retrograde evolution or not evolve if it has not attained a certain level for battle or the proper means for evolution has not been used. The only exception to this rule are baby Pokemon, who will naturally evolve normally at the child stage.
                            • If you have not been active in the shop for a month a PM will be sent to your registered account. If there is no response within two weeks your Pokemon will be taken back by the shop. Your Pokemon will either be rehomed, killed off or made an NPC depending on the case.
                            • One rp reply and one thread visit minimum is required per month for you to keep your Pokemon. The rp may be formal or informal. However, if you just pop into the thread say hi and then peace out that is will not be counted. Take a moment to see how everyone's doing, chat a bit, get more acquainted, do social stuff.
                            • If at any time you plan to go on hiatus be sure to fill out the hiatus form found in the Hiatus Notices thread in the main guild forum.

                            ROLEPLAY

                            • Any thread inactive for two months, in the guild, will be locked. You have ample time to finish an rp, unless some unfortunate circumstance happened in your life whereof you may ask for the thread to be unlocked.
                            • When rping in thread use a color and post format that's easy to distinguish your Pokemon by. Such as: Riley: Hey, man! What's up? -Grins.-

                                  It's a new world...

                            NEW EARTH
                            It's very much like the Earth that they came from, but not a replica. There's forests, grasslands, lakes, rivers, oceans. The whole shebang. So far, only one of the mainlands have been explored and populated, which is where roleplays will take place for now. More of the map will be revealed as more areas are discovered and as time goes on.

                            BATTLING

                            Pokemon don't often battle over small skirmishes as they are rather civil now, but things do get out of hand at times. Battling has become more of a sport instead of a survival means. Although, battling to be able to survive is just as important. Any Pokemon that actively engages in battles as a hobby is called a battler. Gyms and an Elite Four was also erected in like structure as many remembered the humans having, making the battle industry even bigger. Pokemon from all over might flock to a stadium just to see their favorite Pokemon or team battle. It's a pretty big thing in this world.

                            SOPHISTICATION

                            Thanks to the absence of mankind in their world Pokemon were able to continue to grow in knowledge. They live in houses, go to movies, raise families, go to school, take vacations...their lives really aren't any different from that of a human. They still hold traits to their animalistic genes so each Pokemon may behave different, think a certain way or have a certain way they live their lives.Some Pokemon are concerned that somehow, someway humans just might find their New Earth and try to dominate it, to which they would gladly use any means of technology and strength to keep the vile creatures away.

                            ROYALTY

                            One way or another legendary Pokemon found themselves a league above the others. Whether it was for something that they did, because of old social statuses that still even exist to this day or because of some special ability. There aren't too many of them and for some legendaries there are only one. In this world legendaries are referred to as Royals or Noble Bloods.

                            TECHNOLOGY

                            Pokemon of the New Earth enjoy modern technology on a day to day basis. In fact, their technology has even become more advanced than humans. With their supernatural powers and inhuman abilities almost anything isn't out of their reach to be able to invent. Even cars and vehicles that don't pollute the atmosphere. I think you get the idea. It's not a sci-fi world that the live in with flying cars or anything of the like, just advanced modernism.

                            WILDLIFE

                            There are animals on New Earth! Which means that they are raised as livestock and eaten by meat loving Pokemon. Some Pokemon are strictly vegetarians. Some Pokemon don't even need to eat food or green things! Photosynthesis for example. It's up to you to decide just how your Pokemon will eat, but keep their animal in mind when doing so. Pokemon are not prone to keep animals as pets. Some odd balls might, but the majority don't. They're mostly animals themselves, it doesn't make sense.

                                  Fight, fight, fight!

                            Battle. The reason you got addicted to Pokemon in the first place. Anyways, it's essential for surviving and ensuring the success of ones own happiness or means to reach one's dream. Be it emotional challenges, physical hardships or bloody war all living things must fight. In this world, Pokemon do just that. While they have become a civilized people they still entertain their desire, and even for some, need, to battle.

                            This battle system goes hand in hand with the shop's coin system that you will become familiar with if you continue to read the front page. Owner's may pit their Pokemon against each other, Gyms or even the Elite Four. That's right. In each city there exists a gym that houses a team of Pokemon given the title Gym Team. Each Gym specializes in a certain type and are ranked concerning difficulty. Beyond Pokemon and the Gyms lies the Elite Four, comprised of the top teams in all of New Earth.

                            Each Pokemon is born with unique stats characteristic to its species. These stats will only increase by leveling up in battles or purchasing items from the Pokemart. To level up you must gain experience points and the only way to get them is to battle. Win or lose the fight your Pokemon will gain valuable experience points.

                                  Oooh, shiny~

                            As much as we all love Pokemon, we can't hoard them in the shop. At least, not immediately. While there will be many events geared towards non-owners this here system will also help to keep hoarding down by those that have one already. First, in order to get another Pokemon besides the one that you have you must obtain coins. Anyone can earn coins by participating in events and contests, in which they are given out as prizes. Second, you have to meet certain requirements listed below.

                            Once you have completed the requirements and obtained enough coins you may fill out the form at the end of this post and send it to the mule. If your form is accepted you will be given a pass that will allow you to have another Pokemon. You may also use coins to purchase items in the Pokemart.

                            • 2nd Pkmn - 25c, 1 Badge, activity, 2 week waiting period
                            • 3rd Pkmn - 50c, 2 Badges, activity, 2 week waiting period
                            • 4th Pkmn - 75c, 3 Badges, activity, 2 week waiting period
                            • 5th Pkmn - 100c, 4 Badges, activity, 2 week waiting period
                            • 6th Pkmn - 125c, 5 Badges, activity, 2 week waiting period
                            • 7th Pkmn - 150c, 6 Badges, activity, 2 week waiting period

                                  Getting started on your family.

                            Having kids is just another part of life, so here's all the information you need to know about getting them. Each breeding will be 10k. Whoever keeps the babe must send a trade to the mule with ??k, the price for a semi-custom. Generally, only one babe will be produced per breeding. With their new bodies Pokemon can't quite handle more than that, although it is possible to have more than one infant per breeding: twins, triplets, quintuplets, etc. Babies will only, possibly, be identical if they are twins, triplets, etc. Owners must decide beforehand who the babe will go to, either one or the other, or someone else. You may keep as many babies as you please. It's not known how exactly, but same-sex couples may also produce children. The coin system also applies to breeding!

                            Why you want to work here: There are numerous reasons I find myself wanting to work here, especially in this particular position. First and foremost, I've been a fan of Pokemon since it hit US shores back in.. what, '95? Man that was ages ago.... and will continue to be an avid fan of the franchise. One of my favorite aspects of Pokemon have been the battles, and more specifically the mechanics that go into them, and as such this 'job position' appeals to me greatly. The varying type differences, individual Pokemon match ups, and what not are essentially seared into my mind from the countless hours of playing the games so having to quickly tally up the bonuses and hindrances should be little to no issue for me. As well as this thread, tied in with my dedication to Gaia itself (don't let this account fool you, I've been here since late '04), easily allows me to effortlessly bring together two things I love and combine them into one. Which puts me less into a mindset that this is a Job (something that is usually tedious and boring) and more into the line of thought that this is a Passion (where I can be driven and eager to log in each day to do the tasks that I've been charged with). Lastly, I'm infatuated with the fact that this thread is just beginning, allowing me (if chosen) to get involved so early on in the creation/management of Pokemon Universe. All too often are Gijinka threads within the 10,000's of pages, and either too intimidating to try and directly involve yourself or far too structured to even allow the thought of directly involving oneself (though this is definitely not true of all Gijinka thread shops).

                            Gaians who are disrespectful and a general annoyance to the staff and or thread goers, as well as committing criminal acts such as breaking the Gaia TOS, breaking the shop rules, slandering this shop on Gaia and, or, disregarding staff warnings will be put on probation. Upon being added to this list the offender will be issued a PM listing the crimes and the reason for being put on probation. Offenses will not be listed in thread. Gaians on probation will be suspended from obtaining a Pokemon and participating in or receiving anything that relates to this shop and its events. By good civilized behavior Gaians may redeem themselves and they will no longer be under probation.

                            EXILE

                            Gaians who have repeatedly been put on probation, displayed unacceptable behavior and, or, have broken multiple shop rules in one sitting or in a short amount of time will be exiled. Upon being added to this list the offender will be issued a PM listing the crimes and the reason for being exiled. Offenses will not be listed in thread. Exiled Gaians will be banned from obtaining a Pokemon, posting in the shop thread or guild and participating in or receiving anything that relates to this shop and its events. Any Pokemon exiled Gaians own will become shop property and they will have no say in if they will be rehomed, killed or made NPC. Exiled Gaians may not redeem themselves.
