F.A.Q.

Q: What do you sell?
A: Totoros. They're forest spirits that only show themselves to children.

Q: FOR SRRS!? Can I get one PL0X!?
A: Not by begging. Please read the whole front page if you want one.

Q: Okay, okay. I did, but I don't have money to buy one... Can I have one free?
A: There will be plenty of opportunity for free Totoro, and I do give them away at random to people I really like.

Q: Can I name my Totoro "Bob"?
A: No. We'd much prefer that you name it something Japanese, or at least Asian.

Q: Is there roleplay? Is it required?
A: Yes there is, here in the thread. Perhaps sometime I will get a guild for it. No it's not required.

Q: Do I direct-link?
A: Yes, but only until your Totoro is fully grown. After that please save it to your own server.

Q: Okay, last one. Did you make these little guys, or...?
A: I did the lines and shading, but the concept belongs to Studio Ghibli.

Totoro are large, shy, almost badger-like creatures that live in ancient forests. They're peaceful, magic, and they only show themselves to children. They help the forests to grow and stay alive, as well as grow new plants. Oddly, the girls are larger then the boys.

Stage One - Acorn
All Totoro start out as an acorn, fallen from a camphor tree that has been guarded by other Totoros. There's no way to tell the gender at this time.

Stage Two - Rabbit
The acorn has now cracked apart revealing a small pale blob with a tail and two white rabbit-like ears. It has to arms or legs, but it can move extremely swiftly despite this, and can disappear for short periods of time. It seems to like collecting acorns similar to the one it hatched from.

Stage Three - Squirrel
Now your little whatever it is has grown. Most of it's fur has darkened, and it has three distinct boomarang shapes on it's still-pale chest. It also has arms and legs now and can disappear at will. It's taken to planting most of those acorns it collects and eating the rest.

Stage Four - Spirit
My goodness! Your baby certainly has gotten big! It's colors are a bit less bright, but it's giant fur pelt is very plush. It can now fly through the air however it pleases, and it's mouth is HUGE! (Did it even HAVE a mouth before?) It also seems to be having a big impact on the plants around it, making them grow unussually fast and strong. It spends almost all it's time in the forest now, growing trees, eating and sleeping. Chances are, it'll stay this way forever.

Flatsales

Flatsales are held as either flaffle or speed. Speed is first-come first-serve. Flaffle is held over a ceratin period of time in which participants post saying that they want to enter, and the winner is decided by means of raffle and they then pay the flatsale price. Flatsales are 3K each, and always start when the mule posts in Big Bold Green saying that is has started. You MAY proxy for one friend, as well as get a pet for yourself.

To enter a flatsale, please fill out and post the following:

[b]Flatsale Number:[/b]

After you have won a pet, please set up a trade with the mule with the appropriate amount of gold while it's being certed, and confirm it upon recieving your pet. If you don't within two days, then you will recieve a polite reminder. If a week passes without your confirmation, the trade will be canceled and the pet will be re-sold. Proxied orders get an extra day unless other arrangements are made beforehand.

Auctions and Raffles

_Auction Rules_

-Auctions run 96 hours (four days) and have a 30 minute snipe guard.
-Auctions begin when the mule posts in Big Bold Green saying that it has started.
-Fully Evolved E.I.s and MCs are the only items accepted, and that at the lowest Marketplace value.
-Don't bid what you don't have.
-If you win the auction, please name your Totoro and set up a trade with the Mule. Upon recieving your certed pets, please confirm it.
-If payment is not recieved or trade not initiated within 3 days, the pet goes to the next highest bidder.
(1G auctions are just that. You may only bid 1G at a time. If a mistake is made -"I big 120G!" "I bid 1200G!"- then it goes to thee last correct bidder.)

_Raffle Rules_

-Tickets are 100G each

-Please pay for your tickets within 24 hours of ordering.
(Free raffles are just that. Only one ticket per person, no proxies allowed.)

Customs come in several different price brackets, so there's normally one to fit your budget. Obviously, the more complicated the more expensive it is... But customs are almost always open and are a great way to get a totoro without waiting for a Flatsale.

Artists' Choice, 5K
Growing - Add 2K
You pick a name and gender, the artist picks the rest. You never know what you're going to get!

Themed Choice, 10K
Growing - Add 5K
You pick a name and gender, plus some sort of theme. It can be very general (fire, oceans, the 80's) or more specific, but simple (Red and white candy stripes). Never go over five colors or one basic pattern.

Edited Choice, 25K-50K
Growing - Add 10K
You can pick as many colors or patterns as you want and some simple edits. These can be things like umbrellas, leaves on their heads, long tails, a big grin, or even scars (though Totoro have no predators).

Cosplay Choice, 75K-500K
Growing - Add 25K
With this you get heavy edits and fully custom colors. This also applies to Totoros made to look like OCs, Gaia Avatars, or anything else outside of simple edits. You also get to name your Totoro whatever you choose, Asian or not. The higher ends of this are things like adding wings and scales for a dragon, or an outfit like Sephiroth's. The lower reaches are for more "animal" edits like making a Totoro look like Red XIII from FFVII, or simple things like Ed from Cowboy Be-Bop. Please provide a refrence picture with your order.

Breeding of two Totoros happens through the Camphor trees they call home. When two Totoros care for a tree together long enough, sometimes an acorn will fall bearing markings that are a mix of both the tree's caretakers. In this manner, new Totoro are born from parents of any gender.

Pet trades and bribes are ALWAYS open. This shop is a big fan of pet-trades, and will be happy to do any whenever we have time to. Keep in mind that all pet-trades must be of equal construction. (You want edits I get edits. You pick colors, I pick colors.) We also prefer growing pets, by the way. If we're currently too swamped to do a trade, we'll let you know and then PM you as soon as we're not.

Bribes should be at least TWICE the "custom" asking price for what you're after. If customs are closed it means I'm REALLY busy so I'm sacrificing Real Life stuff for making your pet. Hours of my day I don't normally spend online. Bribes can also be used to name you pet whatever you want, get specific traits passed down in breedings, custom familliars... Or pretty much anything not listed anywhere on the front page.

To make a bribe or a pet-trade please PM the Mule and we'll talk about it!

Concept, Totoro and all else related are copyright Studio Ghibli. The owner of this shop only drew that art here. And she encourages you to go watch My Neighbor Totoro and all the other amazing movies that Ghibli has done!
