Welcome to Rice for Rice: The Revival Project!

This idea came about as a fundraiser to help fund the efforts of the FreeRice Charity here on Gaia. The first thread was created by FR's benefactor, [Swift], and ran for a short time before closing.

About the Charity

The FreeRice Charity was founded in late 2007 and is owned by the Royal Crown Corporation. It operates around the world-renowned rice donation game, FreeRice. Users can submit screencaps of their donation page and, depending on the number of grains of rice donated, the charity will then give out gold and items.

With over one million grains of rice donated from the donatees of the charity, the FreeRice Charity is definitely making a difference within the Gaian community. People from many different backgrounds come together and play the game in the hopes of scoring a bit of gold and helping people in need around the world.

About the Effort

All funds aquired through this fundraiser go directly to the FreeRice Charity.

This fundraiser comes in the form of a trade-up quest. Never heard of one? Here's how it works:

I have one set item up for trade. If you are interested in that item, you trade me for another item of equal or higher value. That way, I can use that item to trade for something better and so on and so forth. The goal is to trade up from a very low-valued item to a much higher-valued item.

The first set trade up items will be Onigiri. We will also be auctioning pieces of Onigiri and rice-related Gaian items here. And you are welcome to donate directly to either the charity or the effort. You will recieve an onigiri in return for your kindness and as a reminder of the gift you gave. :]

Wondering how you can help out the chairty? There are several ways:

Trades

If you'd like to trade with us, please check the post below this to see what is availible to trade up. Then, follow these simple instructions:

1. Choose an item of equal or higher value to trade for the item you want.
2. Send a trade request with your item to [ d i v a ] and please label the trade with the item you're trading for. We may mistake it for a donation if you do not!
3. Wait for trade completion!

You can trade up with us as many times as you want. Please only trade up with one item of equal or higher value!

Bids

We will be auctioning off pieces of rice-related Gaia items here and they are listed in the next post. If you would like to bid on any of the items, please post in this thread detailing your bid (which can be in pure gold or in items!) and the item you're wishing to bid on.

The highest bidder - or the person that ABs (auto buys) - the auction will be the winner of that item and all proceeds will go to the charity.

Donations

If you would like to donate directly to us, please send a trade to [ d i v a ] and label it as a gold donation. We accept both gold and items for the charity. :]

Every donator to the charity will recieve an Onigiri as a gift from the charity in return.
