»» Well hi there! I'm assuming that since you're here, you're searching for a one-on-one roleplay partner or recruit for a group roleplay. I have to say that if you are, you're in the right place, because this thread is dedicated to helping you find a roleplay you love.

There are many, many, many group roleplays out there, and perhaps half as many one on one search threads out there. I've spent many an hour sifting through these threads and yet I have found only four, maybe five roleplays that I have truly enjoyed here on Gaia. I thought, "Perhaps others have as much trouble as I do." A little inspiration from my darling friend -Chi-Iroi-, and voila.

✖ On a side note relating to the above rule: make sure you tell me if your roleplay is dead. If you don't, I'll just take it off myself, and hey! It might not actually be dead yet! D: So make sure you tell me.

I will do these; I like me some fantasy/sci-fi, ze moar original/unique ze plot ze better. Adore especially anything bio-tech, or anything that could involve this character, though I'll basically do anything fantasy or sci-fi, whether it be a romantic tale of princes und princesses, or a gritty survival epic of those left behind after ze apocalypse. I also like a good asylum RP, in case you're running one of those und could use a psychopath or two, or for that matter, love things that fit intae ze horror genre. Also, I might be interested in a series-based RP, if said series is one o' ze ones listed in ze interests section on my profile.
But not these; The one thing that stops me dead is a 'pure normal' RP, the sort that's about teenagers living out their daily lives with no action, adventure, fantasy or what-have-you. Another thing I don't do is pre-made characters, even if they're just loose outlines. I also don't like things that have been done a thousand times before, like vampires or academies, unless there's an interesting und exciting twist hidden in it somewhere to separate it from ze masses. I also, of course, don't generally do series RPs of things that aren't listed in my profile, but this isn't always ze case, though if I do run a series RP that isn't one my list of favourites than I'll probably want to run just ze setting without any o' ze cannon characters.
Don't go too far; I'm a Discordian libertine, I have no limits. Ze only thing I warn you aboot is that I'm rather awful at writing smut, so if you want tae cyber you'll have tae put up with that.
My rating is; I personally would call myself literate to semi-advanced. Want a sample? Click here!
My preferences are; Romance: I mostly like yaoi, but I'll do het as well. Never tried Yuri.
Character amount/gender: I'll generally play 1-3 characters, moar if it's a really interesting RP that I can easily fit a lot of my characters into. As far as gender goes, I'm best at males, being one, but I've been known tae play ze occasional female.
Format: I'm a Barton Town group man, personally. One-on-ones I'll consider, but I tend to get writer's block on them, und if we do one hopefully we'll do it in a private thread, since I find any other method rather aggravating. I don't do guilds, since I cannae keep track o' anything moar than my subscription list, und I don't do off-forum for ze same reasons.

I have a plot but no experience with band roleplays. Also have another non-fantasy plot.
Suggestions adored. I do shounenai, shoujoai, and sometimes hetero.
But not these; Fandoms, angels/demons, or anything based entirely around slaves or school.
Don't go too far; Language - hell, dang, Jesus H., etc. Not quite G but not quite PG.
Romance - roughly PG.
Violence - yummy! But I like the PG13 rule. Tell me if you don't want gory stuff.
My rating is; Literate-advanced. I want a partner who's at least slightly above Literate.

I will do these; Truely I play just about anything, very few things I hate and they will be listed shortly. I really enjoy playing the out of the ordinary. Blood, gore, violence, dark humor, and randomness is something you can count on from me. I will do the over used vampire or school settings if you have a good idea. You dont have to have a plot but an idea is good.
But not these; I will NOT play any anime or movie based! All characters MUST be OC and have FLAWS!!! real flaws, not that 'they are a little clumbsy sometimes' stuff.
Don't go too far; Truely I have no limmits but I am happy to work with your limmits
My rating is; I am semi- literate, I use MS Word for most roleplaying but do not exprect me to type out a novel. at most my intro's can range from 1-3 paragraphs (5 sentences) and my replies depend on you
My preferences are; I will double depending on the roleplay. I normaly only do hetro because thats what I have experence in. If your willing to tollerate the next to best roleplaying then I will do a Yuri or a Yaoi if I'm in the mood. I prefer to play Female. I will only roleplay over private thread or PM.

I will do these;I love a lot of things, among them Fantasy, Romance, and anything random really, I always find myself craving to be a baby dragon, a fairy, or lets say basically a cute lovable partner, in a group roleplay mostly.
I tend to add comedy, so keep things random, and these days I really want an RP where my RPC is a fictional charactar that sprang out of a book, while your RPC is the said person who owns the book.
But not these; I don't like Sci-Fi, or anything Futuristic really, or slave master.
Don't go too far; Just don't cyber, anything else, gore, cussing, its all fine.
My rating is; I can give as much as I get, but I'Il only RP with Literate, and Advanced
My preferences are; I'm alright with any gender, I play all of them, and would play opposite any gender. As for doubling, I don't mind, and sometimes I like it.

I will do these; I like original plots. Based on gernes like fantasy, steampunk, sci-fi, Space opera and so forth. I like adventure, action, a bit of romance.
But not these; I won't do most fan-based RPs for the simple reason that I don't know many of the shows/movies/books. I also don't do RPs only based on Romance or relationships.
Don't go too far; No smut whatsoever! It violates the ToS and I don't like it very much in RP. As for violence and stuff, knock yourself out.
My rating is; I consider myself advanced, but others may have another opinion. Samples will be given upon request, of course.
My preferences are; I don't mind playing either gender. It's a role after all. I prefer to play with only one main character and secondaries if the plot calls for it. Secondary chars can be played by everyone, in my opinion. As for the dreaded 'sexual orientation' issue, I'm not easily offended. But, i've already stated it. No smut.

Don't go too far; I have nearly no limits, but I'd appreciate it if you told me yours.
My rating is; Literate. By my standards. I find it horrible, now a one paragraph post can be considered literate. In case our standards may be different, I post, on average, three four or five sentence paragraphs per post. But it depends on my partner, you.
My preferences are; Male, and Hetero. That's it.

I will do these; I will play Yuri or Het, I am interested in any rp that is not incest, or vampire related or anything other then HumanxHuman unless it's got a very good plot. I am not to picky other then those two things mentioned and I will do almost any pairing.
But not these; I will NOT do Yaoi so please don't ask, I have no limits but I will not rp with someone who is an adv lit since it just takes to much time to read and to much effort to reply. Semi Lit - Lit is fine but please no adv lit or no non-literate people.
Don't go too far; I have no limits but I am not fond of violent rps since I mainly like romance rps.
My rating is; I am not completely literate since I only do 3 - 6 lines, but I am atleast Semi-Lit and please do not expect me to do more then 6 lines since I will need a VERY good reply that isn't to long in order to do that which I do not like doing since it takes time to think of a longer post.
My preferences are; Well I prefer Yuri but I also like Het. I prefer no limits but I will respect any limits someone may have and I do not expect anyone to do something they are uncomfortable with doing and if at anytime you feel uncomfortable with anything going on in the rp just tell me and we can just stop that part and timeskip to another or something.

I will do these; On Gaia, only the series on this list. It also shows which characters I have been playing around before. And. It may be updated later, so check back or something. <3 If you got something really special, I might do an original role-play too.
But not these; Anything related to vampires, furry things (animal and humanoid alike), and any overused stuff like master/slave and arranged marriages and all that bother that's on every single page. xD
Don't go too far; Common sense. You're a rational being and you can control yourself in not surpassing the limits of decency. Also, I don't cyber because I think it's a lame resort; and pretty much useless. But that's all with me.
My rating is; Hmm, I guess advanced-ish. I like long posts with tons of detail in them, and I like character insight and stuff like that very very much. My ego says I'm a good writer. But also that I've seen others who were a very big lot better. General post length is 700-900 words, depending very much on company though. Longest ever was 3000.
My preferences are; Playing canons. This is my one major love. And generally I like the male characters better for some reason. You can play whatever you want... for the most part. Just gimme the canon love. Speaking of which, my other major obsession is keeping them in character. As in, acting like they were originally made to. Nodnod. Anything else, ask and stuff.

I will do these; I prefer yaoi roleplaying. I'll do hetero...but only with original characters. However dorky it may be, I absolutely adore pretty much any roleplay based on The Legend of Zelda video game series (that's where hetero comes in). I also like Ouran High School and Harry Potter (but we would have to discuss the pairings). Mostly, I just love when my partner and I can come up with an amazing plot, awesome characters, and lots of drama to keep my interest perked. Please, please be creative and unafraid of things that will make our roleplay drama-ful and put the characters through physical and emotional pain.
But not these; Naruto (unless it's Deidara and Gaara - the single exception). If you want yuri, you'll have to convince me with a lovely plot.
Don't go too far; I have no limits. I think I've done it all, haha.
My rating is; I don't like this system. I write, on average, what my partner gives. However, I don't see myself giving more than 12-15 sentences on every post, honestly. I believe 11 sentences is my current average.
My preferences are; With yaoi, I will play seme or uke or even seke, depending on who my character is. If playing seme doesn't fit my character, I usually can't bring myself to do it, though. It just seems wrong, you know? With hetero, I prefer playing the female.

Just don't go overboard with it. If it'll make someone have nightmares if it were turned into a colorless movie, don't do it. ^^

My preferences are; I WILL double if you do the same! =D And I'll give you a cookie if you let me use my OC in a OC/Kisame RP. >///< My OC is female, however, for the most part, I DO play males. =D Yippee! Also, I will type about the same amount you type, and I would like for you to do the same. So that way, if I slave for an hour or so over a five paragraph post, I don't want five sentences in return. My rating is; Im not really sure how you would rate me. Some may say literate others may say advance literate..Guess i'll let you decide. As for how much i post..My intro's are normally two to four paragraphs..Maybe more. Then my regular posts are anywhere from a paragraph to more..It really depends whats going on in the rp.
My preferences are; I prefer to rp females. I normally doubles as males but my main characters is always a female. I dont have a preference on rp's but if it helps i do have plots for all my genres that i love to share.

I will do these; NAGAS! If someone was willing to play nagas with me I'd like, love them forever and give them cookies! I prefer romance with a healthy smattering of action and drama. I play yaoi only. Tried the others, and they just don't work for me. A few more of my loves include sci-fi/android-based characters, merpeople, and basically any fantasy race. Also, I am m-preg friendly.
But not these; School based roleplays. Ick. Undiscussed character death is a big no. Also, if it violates Gaia's TOS, it's a no-go. I love smut just as much as the next person, but Gaia is no the place for it.
Don't go too far; Just stay within the TOS and we shall all be fine.
My rating is; Advanced literate, I suppose. I usually post 2-4 detailed paragraphs, though this count may dwindle or swell depending on what the situation being played is and what my parter gives me to work with. Samples can be sent upon request.
My preferences are; None, really. I will play with just about anyone.

I will do these; I love love Futuristic roleplays. Fancy technology and space travel. I also enjoy Organized Crime and Gang RPs. However, I can be convinced to do just about any RP if it has potential for alot of action and a good plot even if it is in the past
But not these; I tend to stray away from smut pairings and roleplays in like the 17 and 1800's.
Don't go too far; I'll do romance right up to before intercourse, so PG-13 would be the rating, or probably R. Gore I don't have a problem with and feel free to curse all you want.
My rating is; I would like to say I'm literate. I can post anywhere from a paragraph to five paragraphs depending on what I'm given.
My preferences are; I prefer to play a male and doubling is fun. I feel an RP can grow stale if it's strictly just two characters interacting.

My preferences are; I prefer playing female and I don't like roleplaying with girls using male profiles. I want a rp-partner who doesn't rely on me to keep the story moving and adds some drama; like breaking up and getting back together , maybe even a fight. Not just unconditional love.

My rating is; Semi-lit, though I can churn out more, and more in an RP depending on how much time I have to spare, as well as my partner. I tend to match what he/she gives me in turn of quality/quantity. Usually, no less then two sentences for me, for those times when I want to keep things moving. On average, eh, I would say I RP a paragraph per post. 4-5 sentences, I guess.
My preferences are; I prefer to play the female, but I don't mind playing a male as a main character, but its on a case by case basis, really. I can do doubling, if needed, but expect less postage for each character in these sort of situations.

My rating is; I usually write from one to three paragraphs. Like everyone else as much as I try not to I make mistakes from time to time. I have no problem with someone pointing them out. How else am I to learn?

My rating is; Literate? I have no idea. I usually do a paragraph or two, but it always depends on what I'm given. Anything from One-lining, to Multi-para. (I'm rather vague with my posts, though, if you can deal with that. But it's styyyyle, baby.)
My preferences are; Again, I'm up for anything. But I guess, I'd prefer a male DOMINANT. Because that's what all the cool kids are doing these days. A misspelt word here and there will be forgiven. A missed punctuation mark will be overlooked. Gimme what ya got.

I will do these; At the moment, I'm really craving either some yaoi or yuri of any kind. I do any fandom (as long as I'm familiar with it) as well as original storylines.
But not these; Anime/Manga and videogames aren't my strong points. I don't know anything about either topics and I often get confused if people try to explain things, so I'd appreciate it if you tried to stay away from those.
Don't go too far; I have no real limits on anything. The only thing I ask is try to stay away from describing fully in violence scenes. I get squeemish and don't really want to hear how the blood pours from a cut and so on.
My rating is; I consider myself between semi-literate and literate. I type an average of one paragraph a post but if I'm in the mood or have things to work with, I can type more.
My preferences are; I prefer playing a female in heterosexual pairings (seeing as it's my gender) but if you have a good enough reason (not 'I can only play females') then I will happily play the male. I also prefer playing uke/the submissive role with yaoi/yuri roleplays. This one I'm not too willing to change, so sorry in advance, though my uke-ness isn't the typical whiney types.

The King desires power, the people desire a return to justice and peace, and what Fiershio's former ally, the neighboring country Lorghen, desires, is yet to be discovered. I'm fourteen, but I like to think of myself as more mature than the average fourteen-year-old. ...Then again, don't all of us feel that way, even if it isn't true? Anyway.

I've been roleplaying since I was pretty young... um... I'm going to guess about eight or nine? Granted, I wasn't very good back then, but it was a start. It was mostly Harvest Moon roleplays back then, but come to think of it, I did actually have a character of my own creation. When I came to Gaia, though, my roleplaying started getting better. NeoPets (urgh, I shudder at the name) wasn't a good place to learn. >_>

I'll gladly play a male for you, if you like playing girls. But I do have some girl characters myself who I want to get some experience.

Right now, I [do not] feel like roleplaying.

I've got like three going right now. @w@ I don't need any more, thanks.
