[b]How do I join in?[/b] 1.) Choose a Team. 2.) Add the Badge for that Team to your signature. 3.) Keep your Badge in your signature until the end of the event (for our record-keepers). [b]Where do I play?[/b] You can start a Bout in any user event thread, as long as the OP is fine with it. [b]How do I start a Bout?[/b] You can EITHER: 1.) Copy/Paste the "OPEN" image shown here at the top of any post, and wait for someone on the other Team to quote it,      OR 2.) Find a post by a member of the other Team with this "OPEN" image and quote it with your first attack. It is not recommended that you make many OPEN posts at any one time. You have the right to consider your OPEN posts expired after 2 hours if you choose. Do NOT choose someone if they are currently involved in a Bout [i]in that thread[/i]. [b]What if my OPEN post gets more than one Quote at a time?[/b] 1.) Take the first Ouote as your active Bout, 2.) Ask the other(s) to try again later. [b]How is it played?[/b] 1.) Quote your opponent and write out your attack, 2.) Click on the [b]Post Action[/b] menu to the right and choose "Roll Dice," 3.) Change [b]Die Size[/b] to "20" and [b]# of Dice[/b] to "1" 4.) Submit your post and check the Roll Result at the top. 5.) Wait for your opponent to take their turn. 6.) Add your updated Score above your next attack. 7.) Continue taking turns until one player reaches 5 points. You can start a conversation, or post nothing except your scores if you both prefer. Your score should be cumulative - post your total for the entire Bout each time. You should post your score again even if it did not change in the previous round. Please do NOT remove your opponent's previous attack and score from your quote. [b]How is it scored?[/b]   0 - 09 = a miss 10 - 19 = 1 point        20 = 2 points The first player to reach 10 points wins the Bout. Each completed Bout earns 1 point for the winner's Team. The Top 3 scorers from each team will receive a prize. The Top 3 Overall scorers will receive an additional prize. [b]What kinds of "Attacks" are appropriate?[/b] Foodstuffs, foam weaponry, snappy insults, kindness, or any other non-lethal offenses of your choice. It's between the two of you how dangerous you want to be (TOS allowing of course). [b]Can I play multiple Bouts at the same time?[/b] Not in the same thread. (The exception is if you're waiting on an opponent who had to leave and didn't/couldn't return quickly.) It is NOT allowed to play multiple Bouts at once against the same opponent. (These rules exist because the record-keepers need to be able to do a quick check of your post history.) [b]What do I do if I win?[/b] You must report your win for it to count toward the overall Team Score. Send a PM to [b]Rabbot S-24[/b] with a link to the winning post. [b]What if I quoted my opponent and forgot my dice?[/b] You should still be able to Edit your post and add the Roll Dice Action. [b]What if I added dice, but the size or number was wrong?[/b] It will NOT let you change the dice if they were activated. 1.) Edit your improper post to replace your attack with "VOID" or "ERROR" or "I screwed up" or whatever you like to indicate the issue. Then EITHER: A. - if possible, return to your opponent's last post and try again,     OR B. - if not, Quote your own Voided post, remove or break the [u]very first[/u] Quote tag at the top with your username in it ([u]make sure you remove the first[/u] "[" ), and then add your attack at the end and the dice as normal.       [img]https://ic.pics.livejournal.com/chimera_kite/5614541/1171580/1171580_original.jpg[/img] (This is so Gaia will send another Notice to your opponent for the new post.) [b]What if a dice or scoring error is discovered later on?[/b] If the Bout is NOT yet complete, the player should do a re-roll for a dice error, and/or make a note next to their current score about it being revised and why. If the Bout IS complete, AND the error could have changed the winner, this should still be done, and this information added to the bottom of the final post (do not remove/replace the original text). If the Bout Results have been reported before the error was discovered, AND the winner has changed, send a new PM with the heading "ERROR" and another link to the revised post. [b]What if I have to leave in the middle of a Bout?[/b] If possible, request to continue the Bout at a later time before you leave, or let your opponent know you won't be back. NO Team points will be awarded for an unfinished Bout. [b]What if my opponent vanishes in the middle of a Bout without saying anything?[/b] You may either attempt to contact them (do be civil) or not as you choose. NO Team points will be awarded for an unfinished Bout. [color=darkred][b]Some or all of your Team Points may be Voided if you break TOS or are caught attempting to cheat.[/b][/color] (e.g. changing teams late, faking winning end-posts, deleting posts with bad rolls, or running away from multiple Bouts because they were not going your way.)
