You will win 10,000 gold each time you do it! It's worked 4 me, and it'll work 4 you
Hmm... acting. Oi. Much more complicated decision. I think the original series had the best acting, actually; Shatner was and is good, and all the roles were played extremely well... unlike in all the other series which just had the most overblown ridiculous nonsense a lot of the time (with a few exceptions; Patrick Steward is always amazing, The person who played Sisco and the lady who played Tepal actually did good jobs...)
Crew? Hmm... actually, when I stop to think about it, it isn't necessarily TNG. Deep Space 9 had some pretty awesome character concepts (and they had Whorf lol). Were it about acting Patrick Steward would almost win it just by himself.
Of course it mentions Jung smile the man's work is pretty much inseparable from comprehension of symbolism (at least in my opinion)
Jung is indeed a very prominent hero to me. He attempted, against the odds and a quite adverse society and scientific establishment, and attempted by the rules and systems which were most useful, to perform an alchemy of science and ancient wisdoms in the form of Jungian Psychology! Alchemy, to me, is pretty much the entire basis of my own spirituality, be it eastern (Buddhist, Yogic, Taoist) or western (Hermeticism, Rosicrucianism, Thelema, Wicca). He played their game and produced amazing results in spite of the attitudes of those like Freud (essentially seeing the human mind through newtonian-mechanical cartesian reductionism), and he survived with a vibrant humanity as he did so! No compromises of the soul on his part, or at least not many... as the later videos of him show, he has a heart and a very vibrant soul.
I and I is a complex term, referring to the oneness of Jah (God) and every human. Rastafari scholar E. E. Cashmore: "I and I is an expression to totalize the concept of oneness, the oneness of two persons. So God is within all of us and we're one people in fact. The bond of Ras Tafari is the bond of God, of man. But man itself needs a head and the head of man is His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I (always pronounced as the letter 'I,' never as the number one or 'the first') of Ethiopia." The term is often used in place of "you and I" or "we" among Rastafari, implying that both persons are united under the love of Jah. See also: mysticism.
Ahhh... so that's what "Jah Rule" mean. I never knew that.
I sort of see what you mean, but for the purpose of the discussion alone (I'm not trying to "win"wink, I'll point out that that could be a pretty big presumption on your part; people look at the horoscopes for all sorts of reasons, while Tarot is almost always an analysis of the past, present, and future, of fate. I also don't think that it's as easy to lump them together when people are looking into either of the mediums out of faith and confident belief... horoscopes have been interpreted by whoever wrote the article, tarot can draw on a connection to an individual during a session.
It's interesting to compare what gets drawn into these similar yet different techniques... illuminates both, I think.
lol you're right, I and I do think about that oversight every time I use the figure of speach... but on the other hand, if the circle is smaller, it wouldn't be an even fit, right? They'd always have holes and things bumping around or falling out.
I consider Tarot and Horoscopes different. Tarot seems more vague, and invoking symbology from the personal subconscious directly toward getting insight into one's future, while Horoscopes are like the same hand of cards continuing constantly to unfold and the significance of the patterns is of the macrocosm instead of the microcosm. The cosmos is THE big picture, and its patterns are considered by many to have a hardwired connection into the collective unconscious... but that's just my take on it (I don't do Tarot or read the stars... as much as I'd like to do both)
Not a turtle fan as a kid? You're right. You couldn't have been cool wink (I joke)
Corporations will always force circular blocks into square holes lol It's what makes them who they are. It's obvious that they overdue the workplace pressure, though... particularly the strife and competitiveness in the office (sure, they try to enforce business ethics and "professional conduct", but that obviously isn't the same thing as getting people to actually cooperate and care about each others situations)
Yeah, Sanguina's been through this countless times, and she still manages to be polite and to write toward the greater purpose: educating and spreading understanding. She's also a cool heatheny person 3nodding There's no reason why she would harbor judgments or apprehensions toward you, or at least none which make sense to me.
Hmm, yes, we do feel the same way about Tarot. I also sort of extend that way of thinking to consider connections and interactions with spirits and deities to be a sort of mirror for archetypes and parts of the inner self. Indeed, I'm heavily influenced by Jung's work, particularly the collective unconscious...
I don't see astrology like what you discussed about Tarot, though... related, yes, but more involving a kind of synchronicity of between one's subconscious and the patterns in which the world and cosmos are subtly arranged. I believe in fate (but not that we, most people at least, can predict it with any kind of reliability from horoscopes, Tarot, or ritual).
... I am not impressed by your use of Google. neutral People should just be more familiar with everything Master Splinter has ever said!
Ha! I remember that time of paranoia concerning TMNT smile all the school board people were so over-protective and concerned lol Some people may have encouraged that in them, though...
Yeah, as I wrote in that other message... the theory I had about internalized conflict between leo and scorpio parts was definitely something I just made up for the purpose of discussing "what ifs" (that's what I meant by "making things fit"wink. I do think that I can say with some certainty that the whole thing is incredibly complicated. I do know that I have lived alarmingly true to the stars... I AM a leo/virgo cusper.. it's inner static fire and enhanced sensitivity to social issues, a flair for the dramatic and an appreciation of humility and gentleness, and it's true to so very many aspects of how I live my life...
Well... I'm still sort of conflicted about how seriously I take what most people consider to be horoscopes. I mean... there have been some things which have been very accurate and telling about me, how I've developed, and how things tend to go... but it's not as if horoscopes manage to predict my future, really. Yes, it's like a supplementary medium... is that what you mean in your mention of Tarot?
Yes, it seems that I am quite guilty of providing confusing and conflicting information confused Bad Maarilat is bad neutral this site details things pretty well:
Ascendant Sign is definitely not the same as Sun Sign (which is indeed the same thing as Star Sign)
Ahhh... a Scorpio. *Eyes dart to the exits, where the closest telephone is for 911, then he musters his reserves of static fire to counter the Scorpio-ness* lol Nah... Scorpios are cool. It's what you do with your destabilizing influence which matters wink
Or, in other words: "You are strong, passionate, and loyal to your fault. These are the merits of a great leader as well, but only when tempered with compassion and humility"
Where is that quote from? (no *swats at your hand* without using google)
I have no idea if it explains your messy life or not. Mixing Scorpio with Leo is like mixing water with fire, though... if Leo is your Ascendant, then that's mostly what your ego and how other see you is supposedly influenced by... then your general sense of self could douse your ego leading to destabilization... but it's all just mild musing, and a product of presuming a conclusion and then afterward using resources to explain the conclusion...
I used to have the same perspective you've described yourself having, then I started to pay attention. For me the stars and my experience are very very often uncannily parallel... and not in a grossly general sort of way, either. I don't pretend that I could ever defend astrology to skeptics as anything more than a curiosity or the lightest possible interpretation of something like what Carl Jung wrote about in his book about Synchronicity and acausal connections between people and fate through the collective unconscious... but it is "unnaturally" (potentially more naturally than naturally) accurate to my situation, the eras of my life, my daily moods and inclinations which I can't identify the source of otherwise, and all sorts of more complicated dynamics like how situations around me develop.
Each person actually has several signs. There's the star sign, which most are familiar with, then there's the ascendent sign (otherwise known as Sun Sign) which is determined by what hour in what day one is born at (significant on account of how one relates to the sun shining on them that day), and there's the Moon Sign... which I am quite less familiar with the significance of. The Star Sign relates to the greater themes of one's fate (love, purpose, etc), the Sun Sign/Ascendant Sign relates to matters of one's ego more (I, for example, am very analytical and inclined toward intellectuality... and that parallels my being a Libra Ascendant)... we should google the supposed significance of Moon Signs and, frankly, the rest of it, because I'm quite foggy on the details... which are more complicated than they are popularly considered. All of these signs together supposedly relate to the current configuration of the stars, and things get less vague the more one understands one's own place in the horoscopes...
Did you know that there are actually personality profiles for the very days people are born on? Mine corresponds almost perfectly: The Stand-Out, one who will always walk apart from how others do things.
Anyway, I'll find a better website to explain things better. I'm actually glad you asked, because I've been wanting to look into the topic more... always wanted to learn how to actually read the stars for myself.
