Very thoughtful post, ZedPlus. Curbing inflation isn't my main goal at all -- it's first and foremost making otherwise unattainable items available to particular users. Also, technically, the deflation of a currency is a result of the inflation of the cost of goods and services - not that it really matters since, like I said, that's not my primary goal.
But it's true, we do need more gold sinks, and it is not something we're ignoring.
