About
Age: 23
Height: 5' 4"
Hair: Dark brown
Eyes: blue
Race: Human, half Astorian, half Ki'sain
Her clothing is unusual in that she wears men's trousers-dark grey-and a white tunic with dark brown vest, covered by a dark blue hooded cloak.
In terms of races, someone who has traveled would know she resembles the Ki'sain people, who typically have pale skin and almond-shaped eyes. Most have dark hair and eyes, and indeed her hair is dark brown, but her eyes differ in that they are blue. I guess you could say they're akin to eskimos only paler, but they do live in the mountainous north region of Erewhyn. Normally a woman her age--she is actually 23 but looks slightly younger--would wear a small red dot at the center of her forehead, denoting such things as economic and marital status, but she does not wear one.
For future reference, the south is desert seperating Erewhyn from the neighboring southern country, it is laregly ignored because of its lack of arable land or any real economic value, and so is a mostly autonamous region. It is however inhabited by a nomadic people, arabic in appearance, who are known merely as the People of the Sands, the name they call themselves is unknown. Because the Magi, as well as previous rulers, have left them to their own devices, they are polygamous and polytheistic.
The capitol city is Astoria, because of its sentral location, with the old palace of the king in the center of the city. This is where the Magi have set up their headquarters, a very controversial decision. The city is a melting pot of people from all over, so many races can be found there because of its lucrative trade markets.
There are also a few magical races. The Aurans, or elves as they are referred to by humans, have little contact with the outside world and are believed to be a fairytale by most, though some older people believe they did exist, but are now extinct. There is not a seperate race of "dark" elves, but just as with humans, individual Aurans can be more bad than good. They typically dwell in concealed forest villages.
There are also gnomes, who are shorter than dwarves and also live in the forest, but most are hermits who can be very tricksome and mischevious on the rare occasion a human comes across them.
There is rumored to be a small colony of dwarves, also living in the colder north regions, and the Ki'sain do have limited trade with them. They are very dark skinned with large eyes, which enables them to see in their dark cavern forges, though they do not actually live underground. Their homes are carved into the faces of the mountains, making for villages or encampments that are built vertically, and thus very hard for humans to reach. Since the Magi established their reign, the dwarves have ceased all trade with the Ki'sain, and it has been reported that the smoke normally rising from their forges has not been seen in months. No one has yet ventured near their villages to discover why, though it is believed they may have fled from the persecution of the Magi to an unknown location.
