Wow. I never knew things like that happen there.. But then again, it isn't really meant for too much on individual works yet, is it? I'd think freshman courses usually teach the basic foundations of whatever course you're taking. Be it learning how to write music.
But are you planning to switch your majors around then? Or are you continuing with music/vocals?
Psh. Screw em. Is there a way that you can detangle yourself away from your family in a year or so? God knows you need to live off from them.. Maybe for a while or not, who knows. But you do.

I totally get you... There comes a point where simplicity and independence sound amazing together. I'm guessing you're still dealing with the stuff your parents give you? The apparent BS that they once did? Or is everything atleast civil and decent now?
My summer so far consists of driving lessons, driving, obtaining my driving license by this summer, anddd college s**t. Once ina blue moon do I get to see my girl though.. Kind sucks. But lifes a b***h. Just gotta learn how to deal, I suppose.
College, I don't even know what to expect for college. I'm not really as excited and pumped up for it, knowing that theres really nothing much to be excited about in the first place..
