I went already with a whole bunch of friends, but it was hard to focus on the movie...

Hmmm, Avatar...
Basically, the human race goes to this other planet called Pandora to get this really expensive element/rock.
But there's this humanoid race there that has their village right on top of the main deposite of it.
So because they want to negotiate with them, the humans make these things called Avatars, which are basically things that look like the humanoids that live on the planet, but have the minds of humans.
I don't really explain it that well, but take my word for it, it's very good. XD
