Actually, dear sister, what doesn't kill you only makes you easier to finish off later. I'm reasonably sure severe personal injury doesn't make one any stronger. User Image

Take anti-personnel mines; they're packed with just enough high explosive to tear your leg off, probably won't kill you, but you're without a leg the rest of you life should you receive medical attention. I'm pretty sure that even with the prosthetics of today, I'm not going to be stronger than I was with the leg.
