Tired as usual. Trying to be productive in the summer, but my laziness and procrastination is getting in the way. I'm hoping to finish my RWBY fanfic before Volume 4 rolls in.
Lawrence O. Burman [ the judge who granted them asylum], denounced the German policy, calling it “utterly repellent to everything we believe as Americans,” and expressed shock at the heavy fines and other penalties the government has levied on home-schooling parents, including taking custody of their children.
Describing home-schoolers as a distinct group of people who have a “principled opposition to government policy,” he ruled that the Romeikes would face persecution both because of their religious beliefs and because they were “members of a particular social group,” two standards for granting asylum.
I'd add that they are being persecuted for their political opinion.
Here is the thread I first quoted that in:

I think it's BS that the govt is trying to deport them. They also have a baby who was born here, so in deporting the family they would also be deporting an American citizen. You've no idea how often that excuse is used by illegal aliens to enable them to stay here, yet the Romeikes came here legally but are not being given the same consideration.
And im sorry to hear about your grandpa 3: Things have been interesting on my end. I use to be on here when i was 18, but i was forced to move out and get my own place while working at Sonic lmao. Then, i saved up enough to get a laptop and got a job at Walmart lol. Not much has really changed here on gaia though lol
So, you cleaned out your friends list and left me?
