Jutsu, or skills/techniques, are the mystical arts a ninja will utilize in battle. To use a jutsu, the ninja will need to use his chakra. Chakra comes from two places. (1) the body energy inherent in your trillions of cells and (2) the mental & spiritual energy gained from exercise and experience.

To perform a jutsu, the ninja will bring out and releasing these two energies. By forming handseals, the ninja is able manifest the desired jutsu. Because of the extensive number of hand seals and different combinations, there are thousands of potential jutsu to be discovered.
Based on which jutsu the ninja uses, the type and amount of chakra will be different as would the elements you would be to employ. The five main elemental styles are also the five names for the Five Great Shinobi Countries: Fire, Wind, Lightning, Earth and Water. Each ninja has the potential to better utilize one of these styles and potentially more. A special elemental detecting paper is used to determine ones type. The paper comes from trees which are specially grown with chakra. When the ninja imbues the paper with a portion of their chakra, the paper will alter to reveal one's type. The paper will rip in two for Wind, burn for Fire, become wet for Water, fall apart for Earth and crumple for Lightning. For example Kakashi is a predisposed Lightning type, while Sasuke is both Lightning and Fire for the Uchiha clan specialty.

The five elements themselves form a cyclical strong and weak relationship against each other. The element of Fire is stronger than Wind, as the usage of Wind merely increases the strength of Fire. So if a Fire jutsu came up against an equal strength Wind jutsu, the Fire jutsu is more likely to win out. Wind in turn is stronger than Lightning. Lightning is stronger than Earth and Earth in stronger than Water. Water finishes the cycle by naturally winning out over Fire.

The Deal with him: Top member of secret society Akatsuki, who even Orochimaru admits is stronger than himself, Itachi is shrouded with mystery. He killed his whole family with the reason that it was to measure his strength. He left his little brother alive after screwing up his mind. Although it seemed that Itachi spared his brother so he could become stronger and thus a worthy opponent someday, we believe that somewhere deep in his very disturbed heart, he loves Sasuke in his own very weird fashion.

From someone who killed his whole family, Itachi is surprisingly unconfrontational and unbloodthirsty unlike how one would expect him to be. There were many incidents when he could have easily killed an adversary but instead left them heavily wounded and avoided as many fights as he could. Itachi has issues and it would be delightful when we finally find out why.

Itachi is Sasuke's older brother and these two are the only ones left in the Uchiha clan. The entire clan was murdered by Itachi about four years ago. Itachi seemed to hold a grudge against his clan and the only reason he gave for his crime was he wanted to test his strength.

He succeeded in killing everyone except Sasuke. He left his little brother alive, telling him "Foolish little brother... you can't kill me, your hate's not strong enough... you're not strong enough. That's right, live in shame, run away, and live." Sasuke has done this, living only to avenge his family and become strong enough to kill Itachi. However, killing Itachi is not going to be easy. Itachi at age seven was already a ninja, at eight had mastered the Sharingan (a special ability of the Uchiha), and at 13 had destroyed an entire tribe. He was able to stand up to Kurenai, Asuma, and Kakashi (all of whom are the highest ranking ninjas, and Kakashi being Sasuke's sensei). He was also able to defeat Orochimaru who is said to be one of the most powerful ninjas of Leaf Village.

Once he killed his family, he fled from the Leaf Village and joined a terrorist organisation called Akatsuki and quickly became a top member. He has returned to Leaf Village on a mission to kidnap Naruto so they can use the demon inside him. His strongest attack is the Mangekyou Sharingan which is the ability to enter another's mind and make them feel anything you want. For example, when fighting Kakashi, Itachi forces Kakashi to feel as if he is being stabbed with katanas for 72 hours in only a matter of seconds. This leaves Kakashi unconcious for several days.

Itachi has a huge sword that he sticks into the chakra points and stops the chackra points from flowing.

Itachi's ninja level is unknown, though he was described by Asuma as an S-ranked criminal. He graduated top of his Academy class at age seven, had mastered the Sharingan by age eight, became a Chuunin at ten, and was previously an ANBU squad leader at the age of only 13. Now 17, he is feared even by Orochimaru. He left the Leaf Village some years ago, after destroying all but Sasuke of the Uchiha clan.

After the death of the Third Hokage, he returns to the village and encounters Kurenai, Asuma, and Kakashi with his comrade, Hoshigaki Kisame. With no intention of letting them leave quietly, Asuma, Kurenai, and Kakashi fight them, but are very easily defeated.

I have done a lot of research and watched basically all of the anime series out there, thanks to Naruto Central and Naruto Fan, and I have a downloaded copy of all the manga issues. I have also done data research through various website and books including Wikipedia and Shonen Jump. During this time, I found some new data "suggesting" that once a ninja goes rouge they are no longer classified as ranks such as a Chuunin, Jounin, Sanin, and the like, but are instead ranked by letter, graded by skill, criminal activities, and threat level. Then they are assigned a letter out of the following (please remember, this is just my theory):

F: Basically, loosers who can only do stuff academy ninjas can, or aren't ninjas and have very low skills as a warrior.
D: Basically, a Genin or someone who has done a large amount of misdemeanors.
C: Chunin or someone who has done a lot of misdemeanors AND a few bigger stuff such as a murder and stuff.
B: Chunin or Jounin level, or someone who has done quite a bit or criminal activity such as murders and assassinations.
A: This is held in reserve for people of at least Jounin level and does major crimes without discrimination.
S: This is held in reserve to that of a major threat like someone capable of equaling a Kage and has done severe criminal activity like a lot of assassinations of major people and other TERRORIST-like activities.
U: This basically translates to a super S-Class, and relates to anyone who is at a level were they can take on multiple S-Class ninjas with ease.


Now this type of ranking system is also used in real life by military intel bureau and international crime management organizations. In both the manga and anime, many people, including Jiraiya in episode 81 and 82, feel that all of the members in Akatsuki are in fact "s-class". So, in conclusion, lets just say he is a major bad a**.

The young Uchiha Itachi was a skilled prodigy of Leaf Village. He graduated the Ninja Academy at age 7 and passed the Chuunin Exam at age 10. By age 13 Itachi had become a captain in the special ANBU squad. Itachi began to grow dissatisfied with his clan, feeling they were not using their gifts to their fullest extent. To test his potential he murdered his best friend Shisui. Doing so granted him the ability to use the Mangekyou Sharingan, a rare Sharingan form seen only in a few select clan members. To gain this form Itachi believed you had to kill your closest friend.

After murdering Shisui, Itachi turned against his clan. Itachi felt that Sasuke could also gain the Mangekyou, and felt that murdering the clan would drive Sasuke to his absolute limits, to one day gain the Mangekyou as well.

After wiping out his clan, Itachi fled Leaf and joined the Akatsuki Organization. Several years after leaving, Itachi returned with fellow member Hoshigaki Kisame. It was during this period it was revealed Akatsuki was seeking to obtain the Kyuubi demon from inside Naruto for their own ends. The two men began to do battle with Hidden Leaf ninja but when they began to be outnumbered, they fled.

A short time afterwards, Sasuke learned that Itachi had returned to the village. So he took off after Akatsuki's target, Naruto. Itachi and Kisame began to track and follow Naruto and Jiraiya who had left Leaf Village to find the Sannin Tsunade. While Naruto and Jiraiya had stopped to rest at a hotel, Itachi surprised and confronted Naruto. It was then Sasuke finally caught up and faced his brother for the first time in years.

Itachi easily defended himself against Sasuke and then forced him to relive the moment of his parents murder over and over again. Surprised that Sasuke had still been able to gain much power, Itachi dismissed his little brother’s growth. Jiraiya arrived and upon seeing that the situation was turning more dangerous, Kisame and Itachi decided to flee.

Over the next few years the duo would continue to help Akatsuki accomplish their goals. When members Deidara and Sasori captured Gaara, Kisame and Itachi volunteered to help delay the ninja who had been trailing them. Itachi once again had the opportunity to fight both Kakashi and Naruto. Itachi revealed some new skills during this battle, including the ability to cast a Genjutsu just by having his target look at his ring finger. Naruto fell victim to the attack but was helped by Sakura and elder Sand ninja Chiyo. The combined skills of Kakashi and Naruto were enough to get the better of Itachi, with Naruto striking him with Odama Rasengan. It was quickly revealed to merely be a sacrificial host body. Itachi himself was miles away acting through the sacrifice in exchange for some small measure of his chakra.

Their delay plan worked, and the group managed to extract Shukaku from Gaara before they could be stopped. Itachi and the group then took their leave. Itachi would continue to help Akatsuki and await the day when his younger brother would finally be powerful enough to live up to Itachi's high standards.

Mangekyou Sharingan - Kaleidoscope Copying Wheel Eye (Uchiha Clan):Sharingan is the blood inheritance limit of the Uchiha Clan. The Mangekyou Sharingan is a legendary doujutsu ability which has only emerged in a few clan members in its history. The requirements for gaining the Mangekyou are very controversial in nature. After Uchiha Itachi murdered his best friend Shisui he gained Mangekyou. He told his younger brother Sasuke that to gain the Mangekyou form, he too would have to kill his closest friend. There is still mystery surrounding the eye and the Uchiha clan itself. Itachi told Sasuke that a scroll in their clan shrine reveals the true original purpose of the clan doujutsu; however readers have yet to be told what this secret is. Itachi also told Sasuke that if he also gains the Mangekyou, then there will be three people who could handle it. After the time skip in the series, Hatake Kakashi revealed he had gained a form of Mangekyou, though his eye did not resemble Itachi's. It is unknown if Hatake Kakashi or his eye's original owner Uchiha Obito was this third person.

Usage of the Mangekyou techniques drains quite a bit of a user’s chakra, more so than any other normal technique. The three revealed Mangekyou techniques are the Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi and an unnamed technique. Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi are named after mythological deities; they have a sibling named Susanoo. This unnamed third technique may in actuality be this one.

The Amaterasu or Goddess of the Sun technique is a Ninjutsu technique which uses the Mangekyou form to create a powerful black fire. This fire can then be used to cut through a strong barrier and is said to burn for 7 days and 7 nights.

The Tsukuyomi or God of the Moon technique is a Genjutsu technique which uses the Mangekyou form to initiate a mentally and physically harmful illusion. To utilize the illusion, the clan member will look into the eyes of his opponent and cast a Genjutsu spell on them. The spell takes place in the mind of the one affected, while the jutsu is cast the one it was cast upon is at the total mercy of the Uchiha clan member. The clan member has full control over space and time in the jutsu and can place the one affected through any hell they desire for any length desired. The technique itself only lasts for but a second in reality, but the one affected could have lasted through several days of pain. It is said only a natural born member of the Uchiha Clan can defeat it, this may mean either an Uchiha also holding the Mangekyou or one fully skilled in the three tomoe Sharingan form.

The third technique used by Hatake Kakashi may be called Susanoo or God of the Sea and Storms. With this technique, Kakashi formed a handseal to activate his Sharingan and change it into his Mangekyou form. Kakashi then focused on a point on the body of his target. The area around the target then began to warp and collapse in on itself, resulting in about half a meter diameter of area being quickly "sucked" out of existence.

Sharingan - Copying Wheel Eye (Uchiha Clan):Sharingan is the blood inheritance limit of the Uchiha Clan. The Uchiha are said to be descendants of the Hyuuga, with the Byakugan changing into the Sharingan over time. This doujutsu (eye skill) gives one the ability to read Genjutsu, Taijutsu and Ninjutsu and then defeat it. As such, the clan member can view a technique being performed and almost instantly memorize the movements required to be able to complete it, including the needed chakra moldings and seals used. However the clan member cannot copy techniques that are unique to another bloodline and the clan member must have a body capable of meeting the chakra and physical requirements to do the jutsu. This rarely stops the clan member though, as such stressful situations often push their limits farther and allow them to harness their full potential.

The Uchiha clan member is not granted the Sharingan at birth; it is only activated later in life, typically during a time of emotional stress in the heat of battle. The Sharingan itself can be transferred to another non-Uchiha by a medical ninja, such as happened with Leaf ninja Uchiha Obito to his teammate Hatake Kakashi. Because his body was not born to carry the Sharingan, the eye is always activated and it burns Kakashi's chakra when used. To lessen the impact of the Sharingan on Kakashi's body, he normally keeps the eye hidden and out of use. Also of note, is the fact Kakashi, a non-Uchiha, was able to advance the Sharingan from two tomoe to three tomoe after gaining the eye.

The Sharingan itself contains three tomoe (comma). A higher mastery of the Sharingan can be seen in the creation of a new tomoe in the eye, with three tomoe being the typical highest form of the eye. The rare Mangekyou form is a unique evolution of the Sharingan beyond the three tomoe form, please see its entry for more information. An eye possessing two tomoe can allow the Uchiha clan member to track the movement of an opponent and do some minor copying of an opponents attack. For avoiding incoming attacks, the Uchiha's speed and agility will greatly control whether they can move to avoid it. However, three tomoe will greatly help in this area.

Two tomoe will also allow the ninja to pierce Genjutsu and see the surrounding reality for what it really is. It can also allow the member to pierce another’s body and see their chakra. While the eye is not refined enough to see the tenketsu and chakra circulatory system like the Byakugan, it can view the movement and flow of chakra. This can help them tell if a person is trapped in a Genjutsu, or if an attacker is a real threat or merely a bunshin.

An eye containing three tomoe will allow the ninja to see the image of an attacker’s next move from the slightest muscle tension in their body. This prevents wasteful movement and allows the Uchiha clan member to conserve much needed chakra in battle. It allows them to synchronize their movement to strike at an area moments before their opponent is even in that spot, essentially allowing them to strike out and hit their opponent before they're even there.

Three tomoe also grants the Uchiha the ability to do Genjutsu and hypnosis after locking eyes with an enemy. This can be used to cause their opponent to do an attack of the Uchiha's choosing. This hypnosis can also be used as a Genjutsu counter, which is the ability to turn a Genjutsu spell back upon the original caster without the requirement of forming any handseals.

Uchiha and Sharingan Information:The Uchiha clan were one of the founding noble families of Leaf village. The clan itself is said to be descended from the Hyuuga clan who possess the bloodline of the Byakugan eye. Because their clan possessed the Sharingan or "Wheel Eye," the Uchiha excelled at being able to read and fend off attackers. This made them prime candidates to help found the Konoha Military Police Corps. The organization itself would go on to incorporate the Uchiha fan symbol into their official logo.

Select few members of the Uchiha clan possess the ability to activate the bloodline Sharingan eye. This doujutsu (eye skill) gives one the ability to read Genjutsu, Taijutsu and Ninjutsu and then defeat it. As such, the clan member can view a technique being performed and see the tricks and movements required to be able to complete it. However the clan member can not copy techniques which are unique to another bloodline. It also gives one the ability to cast jutsu techniques only possible by possessing the eye.

The clan itself is known for their ties to fire. For a clan ninja to be seen as an adult, they must be able to utilize a Katon (Fire Element) jutsu such as Goukakyuu no Jutsu. Thus is the tie between the manipulation of fire and the mind of an Uchiha member.

Normal Uchiha Clan Member Eye:The normal eye for an Uchiha clan member resembles any normal human eye with iris, pupil and sclera.

Sharingan partially activated - One Swirl:This is the first variation of a partially developed Sharingan eye. The clan members pupil will turn red and develop one of the wheel swirls. When Uchiha Sasuke finally activated his Sharingan, his left eye took this form.

Sharingan partially activated - Two Swirls:This is the second variation of a partially developed Sharingan eye. The clan members pupil will turn red and develop two of the wheel swirls. When Uchiha Sasuke finally activated his Sharingan, his right eye took this form.

Sharingan - Elongated Three Swirls:This variation is the Mangekyou (Kaleidoscope) form while not fully changed. Sasuke initially caught a glimpse of this version of the the Mangekyou.

Sharingan - Uchiha Itachi Mangekyou (Kaleidoscope) Form:This is the rare Mangekyou (Kaleidoscope) form which is said to only appear in a few Uchiha members. Uchiha Itachi was able to finally master this form during the period he killed his clan. In this form Itachi is able to use the Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi Doujutsu techniques.

Sharingan - Hatake Kakashi Mangekyou (Kaleidoscope) Form:This Mangekyou Sharingan form was revealed by non-Uchiha clan member Hatake Kakashi. Whether this form is due to Kakashi or some inheritance from what Uchiha Obito was capable of is unknown. Using the eye, Kakashi can use a technique which appears to collapse space in around a focus point and reduce it to nothingness.

The Akatsuki:The Akatsuki kanji means daybreak, breaking down the word itself gives us "aka" meaning red (a common color in the group) and "tsuki" meaning moon. This Organization is a collection of S-Ranked criminals. Many of these are missing-nins who fled their villages after causing death and destruction. With the departure of Orochimaru and the death of Sasori, there were 8 Akatsuki members. The group replaced Sasori with raw recruit Tobi, who was eager to do his part. Most members wear a forehead protector from their hidden village with a scratch through it, and all seem to wear a ring identifying their position in the organization and a black cloak with red clouds.

When the organization members leave to travel the country they will work in groups of two collecting knowledge of new skills and jutsu. Their ultimate goal is to control the world; this will be accomplished through three steps. Step One is for the group to attain money. Step Two is to create the first mercenary group. Shinobi villages make money for their country, and for the money to be steady it requires war. Because there have not been any large scale wars in approximately the last decade, the ninja villages were being reduced in size. The Five Great Shinobi Villages could handle the downtrend, but the smaller villages could not. Akatsuki will form their own fighting force with no country allegiance. With this force they will undercut all the other villages and fight their battles for cheap. Then using the bijuu they can create new battles and new wars and gain a monopoly over the whole market. In the end they plan to control all the wars and be powerful enough to even collapse the shinobi villages of the large countries, forcing them to rely on Akatsuki as well. With all that in hand, the group can achieve Step Three, to control the world.

Their goal is far reaching and it requires the capturing of the bijuu and "jinchuuriki," meaning the power of human sacrifice. These are the individuals possessing bijuu (tailed beasts) within their bodies. The demons are known by the number of tails their body possesses. Shukaku is the One-Tailed Tanuki, Nibi is the Two-Tailed Cat, Sanbi is the Three-Tailed Turtle and Kyuubi is the Nine-Tailed Fox. The only known jinchuuriki are Uzumaki Naruto, Gaara of the Sand and Nii Yugito. Gaara along with two unknown Jinchuuriki have had their Bijuu removed. All three lost their lives but Gaara was resurrected with a tensei jutsu. Yugito has also been captured by the group and is awaiting Bijuu extraction. At some point after Gaara's capture and before Yugito's, the group managed to capture and seal away another Bijuu. It is unknown if this was a wild bijuu or a Jinchuuriki. Akatsuki's current base of operation is unknown. Previously they met at a cave in the River Country. This cave was later destroyed.

Their previous cave base was used to house the gigantic statute called the king of hell. His mouth is bound and his hands are cuffed. Each respective finger of the statue's hand represents the Akatsuki member. Each statue finger thus represents the kanji and ring finger of the member. The members have the ability to project their presence into the cave, this allows them to remain out and about and still conduct the business of jinchuuriki demon extraction within the cave. This process takes three day and nights due to the absence of Orochimaru. This length of time goes for both free roaming bijuu and bijuu enhanced jinchuuriki. To begin to leach the power from the jinchuuriki, the members will use the sealing technique of GenryuuKyuu Fuujin (Mystical Dragon Nine Exhaustion). This causes the mouth of the statute to open. Nine spectral dragons will emerge to coalesce around the jinchuuriki to begin the extraction process. When extraction is completed, the bijuu spirit will be sealed within the statute and one of its eyes will open denoting a captured bijuu spirit. The Jinchuuriki themselves will fall back to the earth, dead.
