You could also try filling snacks that have almost no calories, like rice crackers. You can eat those all day and manage to starve to death on them, I swear.

Hmm, then you should probably use the multimodal approach. Multimodal means to use multiple things at once. In this case try drinking fluids and snacking on that Crystal Light, but also try to actually start getting interested in things and doing things.

Boredom is generally the result of a poorly-exercised imagination. I mean, if you expanded your interests and explored activities you can do within your limited means, then you'd have less idle time. Anything can be interesting if you approach it right and choose to be interested in it, engage your mind in it. How do you think people in jails or who are hostages manage to survive? If they can manage to entertain themselves and not go crazy, you can stop being bored and not worry about being a glutton.

You worried about gaining weight? As in, perhaps you're eating because of boredom and are trying to combat that so you stay purdy?

Ever try those cinnamon toothpicks? The good ones last a while and are great at both suppressing appetite and curbing cravings for smokes. Also, drinking lots of fluids helps fill the stomach and that curbs the appetite, too.
