Dear Captian,

I'm running out of hope. I'm almost ready to hang up my sail, so to say, and move on. Life on the sea isn't the same without you. Perhaps I just need to head inland and try to make an honest living. All I can hope for is that my letters find you. I don't know if these will make it to you or not. Maybe one day I'll hear from you. Maybe not. Only time will tell. Hopefully you'll have many tales for me to listen to over a cup of ale or wine. If that day comes it will be glorious indeed.

It appears as if the only contact I had for you didn't pass on the message that I gave him. It's been close to over a month and I still have not heard from you. Instead of doing what I asked he decided to ask questions instead. Wondering why I wanted to talk to you. Does it even matter what reasons I have for wanting to talk to my friend? It feels as if my brain is rotting away. There is none as clever as you. None that can make me think of things in such a way most people would deem ridiculous. There is no one to tell me stories of their adventures. OF the daring feats to save damsels in distress or steal the treasure of the sea gods right from under their noses. The world has gone droll.

My dear Captain. When will you contact me? I grow weary of waiting, but wait I will. I have waited a long three years. What's a few more?

Or prehaps I should give up and just move on. Maybe you have no desire to speak to me and I should quit being so persistent. It isn't hard to imagine my messages laying on your table collecting dust or being thrown into the fire. Maybe you do not wish to have any correspondence with me...

I pray to the universe that this is not the case.

Soon, very soon I will hear your voice. Maybe some time in the future we will all be a crew again. I'm tired of chasing ghosts.

You have dissappeared once more into thin air. I feel as if I am chasing your ghost across the earth. No matter who I contact or talk to, they never seem to be able to give me any concrete information. It's always "I think..." or "Last I heard". I've been trying to stalk down Mud and your heathen brother, but they seem to be slipping through my fingers as well. If I could just get a hold of Mud then maybe I can pick up your trail again. Don't worry, I will not give up. I still search the stars for signs and scry in the black hidden ponds of the earth for you. Never has it ever been this hard for me to find anyone. Why is it that you wish to keep hidden? Have you done something to atrocious that you hide your face from the world? What has happen to you, my dear captain, that you hide from me and your crew? If I only knew of any injustice that has been done to you, surely I would fix it. If only.

I'm getting closer, I can feel it. We will cross paths in the future. I have read the stars and listened to my dreams. You cannot hide forever. Do not worry about your vessel. Otter is taking good care of it. I heard word from him today. A messenger boy reached me just as I was leaving the city I stop over at. Do not fear, my missing captain. I will find you. I'm hot on your trail.

My Miss Cap'n'

I have searched hide and hair for you. My feet have traveled from city to city and from port to port searching for you. I left Otter back at port to watch the ship. My searching has not gone in vain though. A source tells me they saw you travel through their city a while back. I was very...particular...with my methods of getting more information out of him. He wanted certain things I just wasn't willing to give him. So I had to use a...different...method. In the end he talked. He told me you headed to the West...back to your homeland. The man told me you'd had a bit too much to drink one night and told him vaguely where you were heading. If only I'd learned more about you during our time spent together! It would be so much easier to find you.

Rest assured, I will find this secret city where you are hiding. I will find you.

My Dearest Captain,

It is going on two years since I've heard from you. I must tell you that I have returned safely from my voyage to DC. I didn't go alone, I took the cabin boy Otter with me. You haven't met him yet, he came along after you dissapeared. He aided me greatly on this voyage.

The land of DC is a strange one. It is full of people of all different races and walks of life. Most of them don't know how to handle their ships or carts. There were accidents every day at the docks or in the streets. Good Lord! The streets! They were crowded from 2 in the afternoon to 9 at night. It was always stressful trying to get back to the inn where Otter and I was renting a room at in a timely manner.

I found a good paying job and managed to keep it for six months. I lost it though because my employer didn't want to pay me out of his pocket anymore. He said he wasn't getting any revenue from the Healer's for my services. Plus, I had a nasty run in with one of the goveners, and their wench. There are a lot of factors I'm leaving out. It's simply too long of a story to write here. Without my job, I couldn't afford the room Otter and I were renting at the Hunting Point Inn. So we packed up our things and headed inland again. I was hoping you'd be waiting for me, standing proudly at the tiller of the Levithan., but that's kinda like chasing ghosts, right?

It appears I will be making a voyage to the lands of DC soon, Captain. Do not worry, I will return but for a short time. I plan to relocate myself. Hopefully I will find an honest job...ekk out a living for myself. Piracy can only go so far when one does not have a captain to turn to for orders. Perhaps you will come and visit me. We can have a cup of tea and chat about by-gone days. Hopefully you will turn up on my door step. Until then, I will keep sending you these messages praying they will reach you.
