I tried to protect the gold but those damn smurfs teamed up with the fraggles and stormed the castle. It would have been alright except that one of them told me I was delusional so I got down off my unicorn and slapped the taste outta his little blue mouth. Then they ganged up on me, tied me down and stole all of the leprechauns and the gold before running away once more. So...sadly...you now will have to wait a few rainbows till new leprechauns can move in. Sowwy.
