1. Joan Aiken - again, the name is familiar, but I haven't read anything by her...yet.
2. Orson Scott Card - I had to read Ender's Game for my Adolescent Literature class last fall; didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped I would, though possibly because I was hurrying to read it under a deadline =(
3. Agatha Christie - I've read a little by here; my main experience with her work was my drama club in 10th grade did The Mousetrap. I was Mrs. Boyle, so I died. It was great fun.
4. Gregory Maguire - Same as Joan Aiken.
Thanks for the recommendations - I will be sure to read both of those some day. *sigh* So many books, so little time. What other non-classic lit books do you like? Besides Prydain =)
The Scarlet Letter and Jane Eyre - both excellent works. I was going to visit Nathaniel Hawthorne's house this summer with a friend, but we ran out of money =( However, my Dad and I did go to Pittsfield, Massachusetts (a couple hours from my house) to visit Herman Melville's house (still haven't read Moby d**k, though I've seen a movie and really want to read the book someday). Here's a picture of us: Haven't read Crime and Punishment. Who wrote The Little Prince, again? It sounds familiar.
Yes, I have heard of Nickel Creek - they're very good =) A friend introduced me to them.
Aha. I think when I said paper I meant gaia paper.
Depends where you are at the time...I sometimes have difficulty in Zomg....but virtual hollywood is a little easier...sometimes. But I still cant get the hang of it...LOL
Thanks! Yes, my great-aunt (a librarian) and my mom both got me into George Macdonald over the last few years. What books of his have you read? So far I've just read the fantasies (with the exception of Lilith, haven't gotten there yet), but my mom says his other fiction is excellent too.
