About
I am not a fan of Sweeney Todd. I have never seen the movie, old or new, nor do I plan on doing so in the foreseeable future. I do not know much of the storyline, and I cannot tell you about characters or quotes, so please do not go off about Sweeney Todd and expect me to give an intelligent answer. Not the 'Not' in the middle of it, love.I answer to pretty much anything, as long as I can tell it's me you are talking to. If you are going to call me Sweeney, however, please remember that it is Sweeney, not Sweeny. Both are spellings of real names, and mine happens to have an e at the end. It's not that big of a deal, but people get it wrong all of the time, and it is nice to see my name written the way it is supposed to be for a change. My nickname in real life is Nannon, thanks to my wonderful little nephew, who called be "nuhn-nuhn" when he couldn't pronounce my name. He pronounces it correctly now, but the nickname stuck anyway.
I am a hermit and a bookworm. I love my family and friends dearly, though I have very few of them. Most of the people I meet are acquaintances or seasonal friends. I enjoy talking to people in quieter, more intimate settings, and about life and philosophy and whatnot. On the flip side, I detest small chat. I don't want to speak unless there is something worth saying. I prefer getting lost in my stories, or a good book, to being around crowds, even when they are people I know and love.
I usually like romance stories or fantasy or adventure stories. Most of the time, I prefer classics to more contemporary literature. I love Jane Austen. I know the Lord of the Rings much more thoroughly than I should. I also love Robert Jordan, who wrote The Wheel of Time. The last book in that uber-long series is coming out this November, which has me psyched out, as I have been waiting forever for it to come around. I'm also a bit of a history nerd. I don't read history as often as I read fiction, but I do read it sometimes, and I tend to focus on the Soviet Union. I find its collapse fascinating beyond any other history subject I have ever learned.
Besides books, I like music, though I am very limited in my knowledge of songs and artists. I like to write, and I like long walks, but I hate the beach. Cold weather and I mix about as well as oil and water, though I can handle heat without much inconvenience. I live in a dry climate, and I love it. Rain is a big deal here, and I enjoy it with all of the enthusiasm of one who gets it a week or two a year. One of my hobbies is flying, though I am not very enthusiastic about it. Small, unpressurized planes make my ears hurt, and being in cramped spaces for a long time gets old very quickly. I do like working on planes, though, and if I don't fly as much as I did when I first started, I still fly to airshows periodically through the year. When I am not on the computer or hanging out with my friends, I am often babysitting for one or another of my four lovely nephews. I like to jog, too, though I am far from regular at it. I usually only go before the sun rises in the winter so that it doesn't get too hot. I like to travel when I get the chance, and I have had three foreign exchange students stay at my house: Susie from Germany, Issy from Norway, and Robin from the Netherlands.
I am on the computer often, though I am an epic failure on sites like facebook and myspace, which I rarely ever visit. I have been on Gaia off and on since late 2001 or early 2002, not sure which exactly. I just recently got back on. Right now, I am working temporarily for Insane Bumping Service. However, I am trying to set up my own thread, Royal Flush. Hopefully, I will have it up and running before the year ends. I also own a guild, though I have not set it up yet. It will be a haven for literate roleplayers and writers.
I love art, though I can't draw worth a lick. Right now, I have a lot going on, and I'm on a new account, so I don't have a lot of money to spend on it, but I love getting art. When I do have gold to spend, I am usually a grateful and generous tipper. I need to save my money right now for graphics for my hopeful shop, but if you are an artist or know a good reference, I would certainly be thankful to hear about it.
