About
My name is Yomi Kuroda, and I'm a scholar by nature and by occupation.
I have a Ph.D in Transhumanistic Sociopsychology, Masters degrees in Textual Hermeneutics and Fundamental Exegesis, and I have Baccalaureate degrees in Artistic Psychology and Experimental Theology.
(I'm so advanced: none of those existed up until now!)
But in all seriousness, I'm an extremely nice person. I'm a strict pacifist, which means that I don't think violence in any form is the answer to a problem. This means, of course, that I oppose all war.
I'm big on civil rights. I think freedoms of the press, speech, assembly, religion, and privacy are paramount to the creative growth of humanity.
I'm a secular humanist, which means the following:
Logic and rational thinking are the most powerful tools we have to decide what is good or bad in any situation.
Magic, psychic powers, clairvoyance, deities, and all other mythological powers are extremely creative stories, but should not affect how we live our lives.
Reality is that which can be consistently tested with the scientific method. This means that to grow, we have to give up some superstitions that may be comforting.
All people on this Earth have the right to be creative, useful, happy, secure, free, and understand themselves.
I believe that sex does not deserve the taboo it's been under for so many centuries. Sex is another form of creativity, and it should be enjoyed.
I agree mostly with Marxist views on capitalism. I don't mind capitalism, but when it's the only means of production, it forces people to become commodity fetishists: only after what they can own. But it's not about owning! It's about being. Life is more than what you own.
I love offbeat humour. (I also spell things as if I was in the United Kingdom, but I'm really not.) Understated, black, and satirical humour are some of my personal favorites.
I generally love everyone. I don't have any enemies; some people are good acquaintances; my friends, however, I'm very loyal to. If I have one weakness, I'm too soft. I have this delusion of optimism for humanity. It doesn't always come to fruition, but it's a heck of a lot healthier than expecting the worst all the time.
[Fast fact: Optimists have lower levels of mental illness than pessimists.]
I'm not elitist, and I love hearing anyone's viewpoints. Even if I don't agree with you, I still like hearing what you have to say.
Feel free to contact me on my AIM if you would like to talk. I'm really a funny and goodhearted fellow. (I think.)
